Honestly I feel like Burns earned a lot of fans from this fight. He’s a tough sob and win or lose people will always want to watch him fight. There wasn’t a loser in my opinion. Wish it was a 5 rounder.
He won me over in the lead-up. I thought his interviews were great and introspective. Khamzat turned me off a little in the lead-up. The more he talks the less I enjoy him.
Gotta admit, I jumped on the Burns hype train after consecutive loses. He has a great attitude, is a terrific fighter with balls of steel. Hard not to root for a guy like that.
The thing i really like about Molly's videos is that they make me appreciate the fighters who deserves it. The choice of subjects and the in depth analysis is just spectacular. Never misses.
I dont understand what there is to feel sorry about? Both guys' stocks have gone way up. You got two guys named "Burns" and "Viking" fighting each other, and they went to war??? This is not a shock
While every other channel rushed to make videos on this right after the fight to capitalize on the hype, you took your time and put together a truly comprehensive and well researched documentary. That’s why this is my favorite MMA channel
Anytime I see Molly released something new I’ll click happily. Knowing that it’s going to be great. More so…. Molly seems like a guy that’s keen to yet not big on adding Bs for bs sake.. I see and hear a man trying his best to understand and help others understand. Honestly speaking on something he spent time thinking about blending a love for what he’s doing. I love and appreciate the time that he’s put into making videos on RU-vid.
Yep! Molly is an MMA content GOAT for understanding that you should build your platform and brand by taking more time, not rushing and publishing less frequently, but making QUALITY FUCKING CONTENT with personality with every single video. And his numbers also show that it works. Some of his videos have millions of views and they're classics in the genre.
I love how open and honest Burns is in interviews. You don't get that from most fighters in today's WWE-style landscape. I'd love to see him and Khamzat go at it again, but I'll watch him fight anyone.
Wish this channel could put out content every week but I know the time and effort it takes to produce continuous quality videos like these. Great work on all projects so far dude! (Sandhagen or Oliveira video in the future would be dope)
@@MollyWhopMMA ... What do you think about Rose's Last Fight and the horrible cornering she received which just happened to occur directly After "Groomsgate" was Finally put on Blast
This was epic. I wasn’t a fan of Khamzat going into the fight and I knew Gilbert was going to be a challenge for him. In the end, it could have gone either way. But, I became a fan of Khamzat after the fight regardless. He was humble and noble in victory. When he said after the fight that he needed to get better at everything, I knew he was a good dude.
The fact that he won that fight after thinking it was gonna be a cake walk, is what seperates him from the rest. It was exactly what he needed. Anybody else would have packed up the bags and given up or their brains would have done it for them. Not enough people are recognizing this.
Huge Gilbert fan here. This guy deserves so much love for being a warrior and such a good human being. He's not loud and braggy which is so refreshing. Just an animal in the cage.
Man, this guy is by far my favorite mma coverage channel. Dude is straight forward with information and hilarious at the same time with some of his commentary. Thanks for the content brother!!
And the clips are not the same ones which every other MMA channel uses. Like bits from embedded etc. Molly finds old fights and interviews of fighters, especially foreign ones.
Gilbert is a true veteran and great ambassador to the sport! I saw him at the Prelims for the PPV in Arizona a couple weeks ago right in the front row cheering on his teammate and recording his fight for him and generally cheering him on genuinely. It was 2 hours before the main card and Gil was there motivating this guy like he was the main event. That’s the kind of friend and teammate you wish you find in your career. Good dude, Gilbert is. Wish nothing but the best for him.
Strangest thing is his loss has turned into a win, the attention is on him. He proved how good he is. One of the best fights of all time, just the build up was insane. Both fighters big respect.
@@js-sv6kw you say this. But everyone was hating on him after his fight with wonderboy. It was the co main in the conor/poirier card. It was a boring wrestling match and Gilbert was hitting wonderboy on the back of the head. So no, not everyone liked Gilbert.
I can’t believe people think less of Khamzat bc of this fight. That’s so wrong. Burns came out and fought one of his toughest fight. I think whoever Khamzat had next is going to be shocked. Both men are animals
You simply do not miss. Such a good video, going in depth on the psychology of both fighters and where they were at before and where they are now after the fight. We NEED a Charles Oliveira video up next!
Every single figter in UFC history has had at least 1 fight where they won by the skin of their teeth. Khabib when he fought Tibau, Jones when he fought Guffstasson, Usman when he fought Covington, Gsp when he fought Bj Penn, etc etc. It is literally IMPOSSIBLE to not have an incrediblely hard fought fight once you reach the top of thr division. Ppls expections of this guy were outlandish. I thought he lokk amazing. That is the quickest step up in comp Ove ever seen. And he still won. Impressive to say the very least.
Khumshot was gifted that win because the UFC didn't want the hype train to go to far off the rails. I mean look at Khumshot's mug after the fight, it looked like a hippopotamus trampled that shit.
Everybody sort of won in this. Gilbert probably doubled his name value and Khamzat got tested. They both made out like bandits after as well. Great fight
Every vid, I feel like I gotta say it; hands down, best of the best MMA content - regarding Burns Chimaev, two of the most chill and thoughtful but also absolutely savage dudes that ever lived; huge, huge fan of both as human beings and as fighters
My favorite moment was when Khamzat took Gilbert down after he got dropped and then the bell rang, and they both tried to hit each over. A great moment in mma history.
This is the channel that I get most excited for when a new video drops! Always thoroughly enjoy the content, the perspective and the way it’s delivered. Thank you 🙏
This fight made Burns one of my favorites. So many of the fighters say they wanna fight the best guys in the world and then pass on those fights. Win or lose the man has the fuckin heart of champion.
I still hold to what I saw someone else point out, which is that this fight was Chimaevs first high profile fight, he admittedly only tried to knock Burns out, it was a high skill fight, it was a high pace fight, got hurt multiple times; these are more than enough ingredients for a massive adrenaline dump that would drain someone. Despite that, he still won the 3rd round, still recovered from being hurt, still won the fight, still was aggressive 3rd round, and still has the testimony from training partners that his cardio is amazing. I'm sure his cardio is fine, good, even.
Multiple mitigating factors alright, I'd guess you're right. It is an interesting factor though still because in that arena his upcoming opponents are two of the most elite athletes in the sport.
The biggest thing Burns gave every one is 3 rounds of footage of Khamzat at top level competition. There was too much mystery and not enough film. Coaches have the answers for him in that footage now.
I already know that this episode is gonna bang man. I have to head out right now to go to kickboxing practice and maybe stay for wrestling. Imma watch all of this when I get home n relax.
Yo I just ran out of stuff to watch and thought "yo why haven't I seen any new uploads for mixedmollywhoppery?" Went to the channel and I was unsubscribed? Blessing tbh cuz I have like 3 new videos!!
@@elshanks1578 When I look back at his chance at the Title, I honestly thought he was gonna pull that one off. Going into the wonderboy fight, I think everyone knew what was going to happen. Going into the Khamzat fight, I simply didn't expect what I witnessed. Saw a different character (not so much the fighter). The results of the fight didn't really matter. He's a stud both in and out of the cage. That's something I've never saw. Not sure where you're going with that question. But if I have no shame in my thoughts. I saw what he has to offer. And it's not just what he did or does in the cage only. Seems like that's where you are. And that's ok.
@@CraigDohner everyone was hating after the WB fight because it was a boring wrestling match with burns hitting wonderboy in the back of the head. Now people want to say fan for life. Funny
@@elshanks1578 What's so funny about that? Is this directed at me for some reason? I never booed him nor held it against him. I'm just talking about his character soaring to great heights. His attitude going into a booing crowd. Him capturing the crowd, then flipping a lot that were there watching? I'm in awe. I'm not doubting his skills as a fighter (which you seem to be solely focused on). Like I said, I thought he was going to win that title. But I don't see anything wrong with admiring someone's talents when they expose them in such a fashion as he did. Honestly? I don't get the shitty sarcasm. What's wrong with that?
Im really happy about the way it went, Burns gave a great fight, and gave him more experience, mental, fight IQ, that he really needed. His words after the fight, his cold analysis of his fight about one hour or two after the fight, it was really nice. And I think Khamzat is gonna be so much more dangerous now, much more than before this fight. I was quite worry before this fight, wasnt an easy opponent, certainly the worse matchup for Khamzat in the whole division, maybe even a harder fight than Usman, but definitely more difficult than anybody else in the division. That was amazing. I want to see it again, when one of the two guys have the belt. A Khamzat vs Burns 2 for the belt would be AMAZING
This is my fav fight in the history of mma and Gilbert is my fav fighter….this war only increased my fandom! And now my fav mma channel MMW breaking it down….this officially gave me the trifecta of my mma favorites and I’m not sure this can be topped moving fwd! Thanks MMW, ur the best brother!
Grea8 video as always! This was one of those fights you didnt wanna see anyone loose. Respect to both this men who left a piece of them self in that fight.
great vid as always- i gained a lot of respect for burns after this fight, but particularly so after watching you break down how on-the-money his mindset was before and after the fight
Mollywhoop with the cut, this one edit is particularly sharp! As for Khamzat, He prevailed but showed a lil frustration with that flippant slap at the end of penultimate round.
Beautiful work as always. One of 2-3 content creators that I will immediately go to watch new material as soon as I’m aware of it. That was a pitch perfect addendum to the fight. 👍🏻
17:40 That's not the way I took it in real time. I thought Khamzat understood the question..."Are you concerned that you got the win by decision instead of finish." Like his Perfect Finish Record had been tarnished. He said...."I don't care...I get my 50 Gs and go home." When I watched it live...that's how I took it. It was a language barrier thing.
Ah, yeah. I knew someone would provide an alternative explanation in the comments because it was a really strange answer to me, like it didn't make sense. But what you've said there is a very good theory, totally makes sense!
Since MMW has been covering Chimaev’s rise I was hoping he would cover this fight and of course discuss Durinho’s place in it as worth much more than just a side note comment. Another gem. Quality content like this is such a teat!
A classic as always 👌🏾 I love how you often encapsulate the fighters perspective and how you can equally distribute the attention to either 🙌🏾 never miss me a MMW
