When watching this game I was torn between "noooooooooooooooooo FNC is going 0-3" and "I wonder if we're going to get the first ever professional game without a single kill".
''nasus is so dumb'' -gbay99 all his life *khan uses nasus at worlds* ''omg I'm so thankfull they brought out a super fun champ at worlds'' - gbay99 fanboying
luis perez given, Nasus is a really mechanically simple champ, so somebody like Gbay wouldn't like playing him. It is cool to see that strange counterpick in worlds, though.
Hey Gbay! i just wanna say that this video is probebly the best you have ever done! I dont know why but i just really really enjoyed this video. Keep up the good work and continue with these sort of videos! much love
Very good video gbay, love it. You really do explain well when you talk about something in league really appreciate the hard work you're putting in even when the demonitising problems are hitting you. Keep up the good work man
Well this video is actually incredibly smart, well done gbay. You know some of these toplaners like Jax and Nasus very informatively for us. As you point out the highlight and strengths of Nasus when he gets his optimal scenario, I get why they like to go Triforce when we scrubs all think that it's a bad choice for him.(which is it after 30 minutes but who cares by that point, it's 600 stack Nasus, hopefully- and he can just sell it at 6th item for thornmail or randuins ect.)
For solo q and for spamming Nasus in multiple situations and matchups, yes, going E max and not building Triforce is the generally better choice. The games where you do rush Tri instead of going tanky are the exception. For competitive, on the other hand, that exception is the only time when you want to pick Nasus at all. Like, if you're in a situation where a Nasus with a Randuin is better than a Nasus with a Triforce, you're better off just picking Cho'Gath instead.
I agree,it was really refreshing and fun to see a Nasus pick in action after all the boring censer games. Keep up the good work, you're making Great videos recently gbay!
Thanks Gbay, for everything you know Even though I'm not that interested in League anymore, every time I click your vids it still feels so familiar and nice I'd just like to say: thanks for doing your stuff, that means a lot to many people
_-_-_ -_-_-_ reworked by the makers of yorick, galio, and eve... only 'successful' one was Galio... and that wasnt a rework it was a brand new champ... and only seems to do well in competitive.
Galiö Galio is doing well everywhere. In fact, he's had severe rebalances and straight out nerfs since his rework. It wasn't a brand new champion: they still kept his main theme, which was being a statue that counters magic. They still kept his ultimate, in a sense, since now it's his W. It's definitely not the same champion, though. This one is cooler, healthier to the game and works better in general. It's like the old Sion, he was builded as AP, shooting eye lasers as an orc-like thing... Now he actually follows his thematic and still works however you want him to. Yorick is in an awkward spot right now, though, I have to agree. I have no reason to believe Riot will screw up Irelia's rework. As long as they keep her jump, play around the dancing sword thematic more... I don't see anything bad coming out.
Lucas Sampaio the new galio is definitely not better. Just more popular... by 3% increased playrate and -10/11% Winrate. The older galio was also more unique and cooler is subjective.. i personally do not like textureless statues of liber...demacia with some sirt of unseen back brace... maybe he threw out his back idk.
I'm so glad you said that Nasus isn't a late-game hypercarry. I mained him in I think season 6 with an unbelievably high win rate and it all stemmed from the ability to 1v1 virtually anyone in the game. If the enemy team has to send 2-3 people to deal with you (and even then you usually don't die) it's so easy to win
Wow, I thought that you had died. You're one of my favorite youtubers, and what with the Adpocalypse and all, and the fact that you haven't uploaded in two weeks, I got worried. Glad to see you back, man!
Hey Geebs ever thought of making a video about the fighter archetype? Like how they don't particularly fit into the standard carry-tank-assassin triangle? I think that's an interesting topic. Great vid, as usual :D
There is no carry-tank-assassin triangle. It's more like a three types of carries - two types of tanks - two types of assassins heptagram. There's a reason why, for example, some champions get hard countered by champions from the same class (just think about riven vs aatrox, chogath vs maokai, pantheon vs zed, tristana vs vayne etc).
I love your analsys and its great to finally hear you talk about worlds but i find really funny that you said how boring the top lane meta was and this nasus pick its very smart and intresting but Khan only sit his ass in a lane and push throughout almost the entire game WOAHW super fun and exiting gameplay right there btw saludos desde Argentina
Juan Francisco Labat it is more interesting than 2 tanks wet noodling. Nasus, with lvl 9 and a triforce, can 1v1 like nobody's business, especially against tanks with mediocre DPS like Maokai or Malphite. This means that eventually the Maokai will start losing fights and will get bullied, dragging their teams toplane for early pseudo-teamfights.
Great video Gbay, Worlds has been pretty boring this year with the whole ardent censer meta. Thankfully every now and then champions such as urgot and yasuo see play and it's always exciting seeing you do an analysis on one of these matches.
I was really hoping gbay wouldve done a video on the wierd picks from gigabyte marines, the hypercarry nocturne, the mordecaiser pick, the heal/ignite roaming lulu, the zilean/rengar combo, for a team that seems like they're almost trolling these odd picks have had some legit good results
Gbay what are your thoughts on the recent announcement of the Irelia rework after swain? What do you hope for it to accomplish and what do you want them to avoid? Would love to see a video on this.
I'm not very good at League because I don't get much time to play but Nasus is one of my favorite champions mainly because he's fairly simple to use and he's very effective if you're an objective-oriented player, like me who's not very good at fighting.
Trundle and Nasus have a lot of similarities as well. Q auto reset, good split push, great 1v1, heavy slow, health regain, *strong late game, but susceptible team fighting and mobility issue. *Trundles late game is strong in 1v1 or 1v2 spots, not so much teamfighting.
You said that Tryndamere is most similar to Nasus. Did you consider Trundle? Or was Trundle's teamfighting strictly better, so much so that Nasus and Trundle aren't comparable?
the max wither is kinda due to the fact that nasus wither used to not be halved for attack speed, it was 35-95% ats slow and now it's 17.5-47.5% ats slow (at max rank)
Maxi Vogel Which is bullcrap because q flying on blade w strengthen blade e attack with blade by sending your blade out, and auto is attack with your blade
Federico Montieri her ult right now I love so much, it is the most satisfying feeling ever when you ult to lower a minions health, carry ult with q to get minion, and use the reset to start hammering away at your enemy :)
Nasus is pretty good in teamfight if you: -Build 1 damage item max, the rest should be tank items - Always look to wither the adc or any fed attack speed champ -Use your E wisely to soften enemies for your carries - If you can not reach enemy carries due to CC, use your ult and Q to regain health instead. Anyway, unless extremely fed, teamfight Nasus should be played as a tank until enemies use up their CC. With enemy adc being withered and their tank being soften by E + life steal from Q and Ult, you should last longer than most tank. Moreover, if your stacking is high, enemy adc should be quite cautious to approach you, use that as an advantage to scare them off when your carries hitting their tank.
I just found out who counters Singed. Nasus :) With all that sustain on his passive, Nasus can tank all the minions and farm without missing a single creep to stack if Singed is proxying
EXACTLY. I've had like 5 1000 stack games, and by the time you get to it, you might as well still have 250. Nothing you can do if you don't have flash.
Love the video gbay99. I know most videos in 2017 in the youtube world never really grab my full attention. Ill look at other League youtubers and for the most part Im looking at my video for a bit then I just they just lose my attention and I look at my phone and hear what they have to say in the video in the background. But not you Gbay everything you say in your videos has a setup and a payoff and the whole video has CONTEXT and everything you say in the video has meaning (at least to me) . I really hope your reading this man because regardless of how small your channel may seem I respect you so much for putting the effort in these videos. Much love man keep up the good work and hope your sickness goes away.
It really didn’t need a 10 minute video on it gbay. The analysts told everyone why it was good and the community knows Nasus is a good pick into tanks.
For everyone in rankeds against nasus as maokai you can actually zone out nasus and even kill bad nasus players with controlled trades where u just use all your spells fall back and then try to zone nasus from minions with your low cd W
Hello, as a Nasus main, i can say that u just said 90% truth but also telling that nasus is not that good in teamfight its not true when u are in that last stage of ur R u go super tanky and if u know how to really position ur self u can get easy throught them and kill their carry and get atleast double kill, peace out! Great vid.
