Always love when you take the narrative through the eye of the 'small man', the guardsman etc., the random Marine. When the knocking came at the door...*I felt that*...
Well, íts easier and I think it highlights the epic traits of the people involved. Also I only have so much 'range' in my voice and accent. Gotta work what you got I guess. P:) Thank you for listening brother Inundation. As always. It is very appreciated indeed. :)
bladestormviking thanks Brother Viking. I kinda liked Sisters if Battle for that. But it’s never going to be professional level. Just a fan chucking out fun ideas. :).
"-I am upon him in an instant. His boney shoulder dislocates in an instant. I fling him. He falls hard. Carving a furrow through the red sand, and hits a pillar. Crack. It sounds like the snap of dry twigs. Marrow leaks and more blood stains the sands. He mules like an infant. The sound infuriates me. I am upon him before he knows it. I want him to stand and fight. He says he can not. I lift him to his feet but he falls in a crumpled heap as soon as I release his neck. 'You are no warrior'. I kick him and he flies briefly. Another crack. He slides down the wall wet and broken. I kneel beside him as he quivers and gasps in the dust. 'Your death will bring me no glory.' My hands completely incircle his head. "Your skull is fragile and brittle'. He says something but all ?I hear is my skull pounding like the drums of hell. 'Your skull is not one of those I seek, Khorne does not want it. I tighten my gripe and his head collapses inward like a rotten fruit. The smell is foul. I ROAR! Gorechild is in my hand once again and he roars too. My earlier decision not to sully the weapon with this paper skins blood is cast aside. I hack into the headless body. Blood sprays from Goarchild's spinning teeth. I pull him free and hack again! And again! AND A-" - exert from Chosen of Khorne by Anthony Reynolds.
I love his lore in the Horus Heresy, massively respected by everyone and a know monster warrior, but he always lost the training duels, because it "wasn't real". And holy shit his "fight" against Erebus at the end of Betrayer was so satisfying!
Aye. Many lose fights when its training and then surprise people when its 'for real'. Kharn just shows this I guess. :) Thank you for listening brother Kristiansen. :)
@@bladestormviking Yes! From the Conquerors captain shooting him in the face with a pistol, to his brothers teaching him a lesson in the gladiator ring. Such a good book!
You are not wrong. Its a bloody amazing tale. ONe day we shall revisit him in more depth. When my skills are better. Much better. :) Thank you for listening brother Howell, as always. :)
And I'm really digging the way you do the intros. It's a grand way to introduce the subject of the video. Kind of set us, the listeners, down in the Universe. Why do you think that Kharn hasn't been elevated to demonhood? And have there been any representation that shows without a helmet? I've never noticed before that he had blonde hair
As I always say, Khârn the Betrayer was pretty fun to be around, and contrary to popular belief he actually had a sense of humor as well. Probably the best example was in the middle of the campaign during a sweeping of an Imperial Guard command post, with Khorne Berserkers and our Red Rivers company marching directly into the defensive fire. The closer we got, the more apparent it became that the only thing holding the Guardsmen together was a grizzled looking Commissar in full uniform, one gun turned on us and another firing on any of his men who looked like running. Khârn was at the tip of the assault, and so he got to the Commissar first, plucking the screaming officer up by the neck and holding him over his head. Then, out of nowhere one of the other berserkers grabs the Commissar's legs and roars "MAKE A WISH!". Well, as you can imagine everyone on both sides forgets about the fight, and watches Khârn and this other Khorne-worshiping marine just start pulling on this Commissar at both ends, the old man screaming out oaths and curses like you wouldn't believe! You could almost hear the sound of flesh tearing and bone snapping over the cheering. Then, Khârn just let go. Totally not expecting it and pulling with all his might, the Khorne Berserker just falls backwards and starts tumbling with the near dead Commissar into a damaged hellhound, his armor grating off it and sparking! Well, after the explosion we all turned back to Khârn, who had managed to keep a hold of the Commissar's fancy hat. Ol' Khârn put it on, and damned if it wasn't the funniest thing any of us had ever seen... till he turned to us and bellowed "I'M THE NEW COMMISSAR" at us. They tell me five thousand traitor guardsmen died that day before someone could take that hat off him. What a kidder!
I love the bit in Saturnine where one of the Sisters of silence realises she's going to be killed by Kharn and it's an important moment for her, she gets a couple of paragraphs about it, then for Kharn she's invisible and the only thing he notices is that his kill-counter has gone up by 1.
I cannot recommend the old audiobooks of "Chosen Of Khorne," or "The Eightfold path" enough. Kharn simply comes to life for you, and dreadfully so. from the quiet moments in his maddend contemplative silence at the slow dripping of blood. to the raucous roar of him unleashing carnage and slaughter. Jolly good time!
I love the old school, Horus Heresy World Eaters color scheme with bright blue and white, I think it would be interesting to still have them in such a positive color scheme.
I like how your audio dramas pull us into the grimdarkness of it all. Nice one Baldermort. Gotta like the arch berzerker! Eagerly waiting for the Saim Hann vs White scars results.
Thank you brother AMW. Just an attempt to make it more accessible for newer players. Gets them into it etc. Friday. Its Friday. Votes are now closed and I am working on the story. Lets hope I don't drop the ball. :)
The main reason I like Kharn so much is that he makes my brother smile. He's usually so grumpy and I'm glad he can have nice things thanks to his little bunny-eared Siberian.
TTS, Arch Warhammer, 40k theories and many others have taken a crack at the leviathan that is 40k lore and figures of the galaxy itself. But never have I had such honey drip in my ears as I was read lore on my favorite Chaos boy Kharn.
You have to love Kharn, let's be honest here the only difference the fall to chaos made is he now wears Red instead of blue and white. Other than that no change really, he just kills until the enemy run out.
What would be your favorite warhammer 40K character? Mine is Tuska daemon killa because he is what all orks are about. Fighting and being very obsessive about how they fight. Because some orks believe a prober fight is by running straight at a group of ummies and others believe that a prober fight is by luring daemon to your cruissa by using weirdboys as bait and will just ignore the imperium strongest fortress world because it is not interesting.
It changes every video I do. Honestly. Every time I read more and try to get into their heads. Yep - I am a whore. :) Tuska is just amazing. Its the glee the life affirming fun of the Orks I love most. :)
Depends on what mood I’m in haha. Most of the time it’s Angron because of how well he is written and how with just a little help from the emperor, he could of been one of the most successful Primarchs in terms of conquest. Other times I really like Sevatar
Khârn might not be the most complex character. But he is such a force in any appearance he makes that his presence in the setting is worthy of praise alone.
I'm finding it difficult to think of one too. Kharn is a beast. I;m sure it'll come to me at about mid way through trying to sleep. (if one exists). :) Thank you for listening brother Spartan, as always. :)
and this is why when people say 'you should do black library' I always say 'nah. they have real people doing this stuff.' I can;t compare with anyone who has actually done acting. LOL,. Nice complement, but it aint ever happening. :) Nice info brother Kelman, as always. Astute and interesting. :)
Ah, Mister Kharn? We've been reviewing your Help Wanted personal and I see that you are looking for... lets see... "Those who crave only the feel of fresh gore upon their flesh." And your offered compensation is, "A tithe of blood." We need a numerical value or we can't put it in the search engine properly.
"baited breath"????? lay off the sardines. i always wanted to see lucius fight kharn at the world eaters' pit night. that would be a "time limit draw" for the ages.
Ahh great Sage Baldermort you once again brings us a tale of the Heresy .. Kharn one of Khornes most loved.. more blood for the blood God and let it cover Gorechild for we don't care where it comes from long as it flows....
A billion thanks... I was waiting for this...!!! Based on your masterful Nightlords video... I pray Sevetar will receive similar treatment... One can hope!!!
I am tending to do the presently existing characters first, but hope to get more Heresy Era lads in one day. Thank you for listening, as always, brother Crawley. )
Thanks for the reminder... I do believe Sevetar vanished after saving that Astropath or Navigator who was oppressed by her superiors... Correct! Yes... Then apologies, he is not present in the storyline anymore... What an awesome character, the weight is on GW shoulders to reclaim one of their greatest troubled souls...
Recently discovered your work sir, extremely impressive for a new 40k channel. You have my thanks. Please consider a video on the Months of Shame i'd love for you to bring this to life in your now trademark fashion. Well done.
yikes. That one could take some doing! I will attempt to get to all of it one day. At the present I am trying to get important stuff out for newer players. But I would aim to cover as much as possible eventually. Thank you for listening brother Clayton. :)
Interestingly i've never played myself but the depth and complexity of the lore started me on the books and 40k channels. I actually think you would be the first to cover it if it makes it onto your list. For the Emperor brother.
Tom Clayton no..... that can’t be true,,,... (thinks of all the vids he’s seen). Jaw drops. Jeepers. You are right. I’ll check again - but that’s simply weird. Such an interesting period and event. If it’s not done by summer - remind me? I forget things a lot. But do remind me. That needs addressing.
Just became a Patreon of yours lord Balermort. I couldn’t just keep enjoying your ridiculously awesome content without not showing some financial support!! Thank you and I’ll be here for the entire ride! 👌❤️
Another exellent video as always! Nothing specific to say for this one, but I'm leaving a comment anyways for that good old RU-vid Algorithm to consider
It did indeed. I nearly did it while shooting, but luckily I restrained myself. :) Happy Monday, brother Richard. Hope its going to be a great week for you. :)
@Iron Hands Terminator I would hope the delineation of "chaos warriors" would separate them from a storied loyalist chapter. There is however nothing as metal as arriving in system standing on the prow of your battleship the way Angron did during the siege of Terra. He may be a traitor but he has style.
I absolutely love your videos and how you start out straight into the coolest of cool stories! Thank you for your amazing work. Its entertainment at its finest
Kharn was a swell guy at the time of the Heresy. A grand tragedy he went haywire, but it was always in the cards. Dude was on the level of grand fighters such as Sigismund, Sevatar, Corswain, Lucius, Argel Tal, and so on, so it is no wonder he turned into a complete beast with his great start, the blessings of Khorne and 10.000 years of experience (+/- warp time being as it is). It is indeed one of the great aspects of 30K that even lesser men are main characters of their own stories in a war far greater than them. It really adds scope and dimension to the whole universe. Anyway... Dude, I love the audio dramas you do. They seem to be of pretty good quality writing-wise AND they really showcase your voice, which has the right near-basso timbre for voice-work. If I were to compare you to any of the other big wh40k-tubers out there, your voice and the audio dramas are absolutely the stand-outs, your specific strengths. I also do like how you put weight on the words and build up your specific attention-grabbing cadence. Dry and husky, I'd say. Sounds like an old scholar. It is good. So I just wanted to give you kudos. I can't wait to see you blow up recognition-wise and I can't wait to hear your lore takes in future. Especially if you yet have room to improve. (Which I'd like to imagine is always a thing.)
Absolutely agree, There is just so much depth to the characters in this setting now. :) I can;t compete with the big guys. They actually know what they are doing. LOL, I;m just training wheels and entertainment for starters. I'll let them do the heavy lifting when people level up to their more dense and exacting lore. I siply chuck them out swiftly and hope people enjoy them. Don;t get me wrong- I put blod sweat and tears into my big pieces, but those guys have the time and IQ to check it all a trillion times before putting anything out. I'm outgunned, so refuse to play. I like to think I could fill the 'starter niche' thats about it. :) Thank you for taking the time to comment. It helps. :)
We;ll get to the primarchs in time. I did Dorn and it was exhausting. I have to leave breaks as they are 3 hours each ish. Hard going. But they are on the cards. :)
I love your vids Baldemort. May I request one of Malcador the Sigillite? This characters influence on the early imperium and the Emperor is highly underrated. It is even suspected that he is the one that made the pact with the chaos gods to create Primarch Zero: The Emperor of mankind.
You are not alone. Sooooo cool. :) OH, when I get more information and MUCH better at sound effects I intend to do a fleet action. But I need to up my skills first. :( But when we do it.. heh. It should be worth the wait. :) Thank you for listening as always, brother Wolfley. :)
I know an entire species that would rip out their left tusk, krump their best buddy and much more besides, just to have a guest appearance from Kharn the Overachiever on their homeworld. Those boyz would be super busy for at least a week!
You know what terrifies me most about Astartes/Traitor Astartes boarding actions? Most of the time when I'm hearing boarding actions described, in any setting, I think of a few simple words that would solve the problem entirely - "Vent all sections except this one, blow them into space". But when you're boarded by these guys that has, at best, a 50/50 chance of helping, let alone finishing it.
Now I would LOVE to see a fight between those two. But - not causing an argument, just a thought - Kharn defeated (not killed) Sigismund due to all of the warp power - how would Helbrecht beat him when Sigismund could not? I desperately want a good answer. But I know its a tough call. :( Thank you for listening brother Trajan. As always. :)
@@baldermort Perhaps in the same fashion the sheer amount of faith and hatred the black templars have enables them to resist and cancel certain warp powers in their local vicinity. Helbrecht would certainly be the big grand daddy of such faith and hatred.
It was a killer, as usual, to get good art. People always think 'there's loads of art!" Which is true. But not for individual factions. Its a pain it really is. Glad it was worth the search. :)
Kharn is a slave to the phrase "alright... i guess we're doing This now". perhaps he will finally get a break once he's collected all the right heads for Khorne.
Kharn gets up early and decimates entire regiments, tears through ultrareinforced bulkheads and makes sacrifice of *BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD* and *SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE* , but not before he has a hearty breakfast, consisting mainly of nutritional Khorne Flakes, with Type O.
