Every morning at 8.30, Khasti, 35 leaves her village home and walks three Kms. to work as a domestic help for eight hours. every single day. During and after the monsoon, in lunch time, she goes out and collects fodder for her buffalo. Better fodder yields better and more milk that she can sell...this adds to her income. She leads a hard life.
Our "Bridging Gaps" project hopes to bring fodder trees on to her own land...so that she gets fodder for her buffalo close to her home... round the year and earn more. Hopefully, when her life gets a bit easier she would be a little less stressed...
