Behind the Name of the Parsha: Go Fully in!
Ki Tavo means 'when you enter' the land of Israel...
The Talmud tells us that the requirement to bring the first fruit to the Kohen, known as Bikurim and discussed in this verse, does not apply until every single Jew entered Israel and the land was fully conquered and divided. Thus the rule ביאה במקצת לאו שמיה ביאה Partial entry is not considered entry.
This teaches us a powerful lesson in our daily life: that when it comes to anything positive, any Mitzvah, we must "enter' wholeheartedly.
When we become fully immersed in whatever we are doing we have a radical change in the quality outcome. And in order to reach that level of immersion, we need to temporarily rid ourselves of any other care or concern and dedicate ourselves completely to the matter at hand with complete devotion and concentration. Not allowing our personal biases to interfere.
For those of us with ADD, as difficult as it may seem, we must try to peel away at the layers of items on our minds and to-do lists, and forge a direct soul-connection with the Mitzvah at hand.
And when we experience such an 'entering' of soul to body, the body is not just enlivened by the soul. This Full Entrance makes the body and soul truly one. Now, the body too lives.
May we all fully 'enter' into every Mitzvah we perform, every act of goodness and kindness.. in best of health, filled with happiness, nachas, prosperity, success and an abundance of all good things!
