The Kia Carens is bigger and better than the Maruti XL6 in almost all departments on paper. But does it translate in the real-world when space and practicality are concerned?
Kia launched its second MPV for India, the Carens, in February 2022, with prices starting from Rs 8.99 lakh (introductory ex-showroom pan-India). Although in terms of dimensions, it is similar to the Hyundai Alcazar, its price has put it in contention with the likes of the Renault Triber and even the Maruti Ertiga-XL6 duo. We had the 6-seater Carens with us and hence we pitted it against the Maruti XL6 to see which one comes out on top in terms of space and practicality.

Sir when u r comparing two cars, u have to take the models whose prices are same U r taking both top models which have a price difference of 6 lakhs(ex showroom) For careens u have to take the model which is similar to xl6 price bracket

'Car Dekho' having very good Anchors. These anchors are well capable and their presentation is truly no-nonsense. These anchors are much much better than most of the TV channels' so-called truly nonsense Anchors.

@@ib-ra-him7484 We have taken Carens, it got only one service, in city we're getting 20 kmpl and in highways it's giving 26kmpl, it got just one service !!!, Btw even Xl6 has the same build quality which Ertiga has, 3 stars!!! We have no problem with the rating but we all need is Features, Looks, Space, 3rd row needed to be easier, your Xl6 can't even bend it's 2nd row seat properly 🤣🤣

nahi ayegi . feature wise carens prestige plus at 13.5 lakh got more features then ax5 costing 5 lakh more on road price. plus deisel engine of carens can give 20+ mileage compare to xuv700 which barely give 15 km/l

in real world Carens look like big box just like Wagon r with 7 seater design. It is not proportioned well. XL6 surprisingly looks well proportioned.

And Carens scored only 3 Stars in GNCAP inspite of having so many safety features. 😆 So, safety-wise Carens is NOT better than XL6. The Indonesian-spec Ertiga which has same safety features as Indian XL6 2022 has scored 4 Stars in ASEAN NCAP.

It’s actually a biased video which is making Carens better, carens isn’t a comfortable car it can disturb you on expressways too, I was planning to by carens previously but not going to buy at all, recently I tested it on Delhi Meerut expressway and the drive was not good on middle seats.

The Kia Carens mileage is 15.7 to 21.3 kmpl. The Manual Diesel variant has a mileage of 21.3 kmpl. The Automatic Diesel variant has a mileage of 18.4 kmpl. The Automatic Petrol variant has a mileage of 16.5 kmpl. The Manual Petrol variant has a mileage of 16.2 kmpl.

Lower variants of XL6 have more features than Lower variants of Carens, at the same price!! Carens scored only 3 Stars in GNCAP inspite of having so many safety features 😆. So, safety-wise Carens is NOT better than XL6. The Indonesian-spec Ertiga which has same safety features as Indian XL6 2022 has scored 4 Stars in ASEAN NCAP. However, Carens is better than XL6, only in the higher variants.
