Except this car is less than 3 years old and Kia keeps saying there's no problem with the battery. It just died again yesterday so we're having it towed to the dealership.
My 12V battery drain issues seem to have been related to the off-peak charging credit program with my electric company. Their third-party software (Rolling Energy Resources) was apparently constantly pinging the car for status which would drain the 12V. My utility company said this is an issue Kia knows about (PS748 Sharing Kia Connect w-3rd Party Apps and Impact to 12V Batteries in EVs). Once I "disconnected" my EV6 from the off-peak program, I haven't had the issue again (yet).
@JeremyRadwan perfect .. I noticed the charging indicator always on and thought some software issue. But this is damn helpful and wish the technician could have identified it .. thanks a ton
They offer an upgrade/update to address that...I had it successfully done on my 22 wind awd that threw that warning. I traded that one on a 23 GT model a few weeks ago.
@@davidwolff1400 Do you have the technical service bulletin number for that? I haven't heard of an update for issues with the 12V (except for PS748 which is just the info about disabling 3rd-party Kia Connection connections), just the various ICCU issues.
