Mark shows you how to diagnose and repair a common Kia / Hyundai power door lock malfunction - how to fix it, what tools you need (just one) and how much the parts costs - Cheers from Canada and enjoy!
Hi Carquestions, I have a 2009 Kia Sorento that all the doors/hatch quit unlocking. I can manually unlock the doors but the hatch is inaccessible since it won't unlock. I know it's not the key fob, I tried both fobs and they don't work. Lights will flash though. I also tried the power door lock on the doors and they aren't unlocking either. Any suggestions? Also any idea how to unlock the hatch without a key or the power door lock button? Cheers from Vancouver!
Chris - a couple things - First I'd change the remote batteries anyways if they haven't been replaced, next I'd get out the owner's manual and find the fuse that is for the door locks and check it - if blown replace it. Test the remote button pushing open button twice - and repeat - if that doesn't work the only way to unlock the rear hatch is to remove the interior plastic panel while it's closed - not an easy thing to do - you'd have to do everything in the video from inside with the hatch closed - good luck and let me know how you make out - Cheers from St George Ontario
@@carquestions Thanks for the tip, it was a blown fuse, unfortunately Canadian Tire was closed but luckily Kia puts in extra fuses. Problem solved, now just need to buy a spare fuse to pop back in the spare socket.
