Question about the Differential Gear. Ive had a car one time that the pinion sploded thru the trans case, cause it was a really lame/ weak roll pin. Does the Kona have this same setup, or are there any things thag prevent that from happening?
There is a bolt and nut (7mm bolt and 15mm nut) sticking out of the top of my transmission, near the overflow vent. I seem to have a leak coming from it. What is it? Is it safe to simply remove it and put in another? I got a replacement from a scrap yard, but I want to be sure it doesn't hold anything in place on the inside before I mess with it.
The level plug is at the side of this transmission (if your transmission is KIA or Hyundai 6 speed AT) so when the engine is off, AT oil pump is not working and the oil level is at the level of the level plug, so if the bolt that you are referring to is at the top of the transmission, there shouldn't be any problem as long as you do the job carefully.

@@ernestdamo677 there is one solenoid valve to provide the ATF to the torque converter clutch when you are driving at 5th and 6th gear to activate the mechanical coupling between engine and transmission, so if that clutch is engaged all the time (due to a mechanical fault or valve body malfunction), it will turn off the engine as soon as shifting to D.
