Best performance as a review video😃 . I enjoyed every second of it and passed the message clearly! I tried it and it is all true what you said! (No problem with the window thou 🤣) I needed a confirmation for what i think about it and i got it 100% Tomorrow i will go drop off my 2018 HEV and pick up that 2019 PHEV niro from dealership. Thank you very very much for this !!!
Plug-ins are really only useful for charging at home or having a charging option at your work location. They don’t have a fast charging option so charging during a road trip really isn’t realistic. For that you need a proper EV.
Just took home a 2024 Kia Niro SX Touring PHEV. Why isn't my battery fully charging? It's been plugged in over 12 hours and seems stuck at 80% for longer than expected. Does it slow down near the full capacity?
Good review. But I don't understand why you didn't get the pure hybrid if you didn't use the technology. Even though you said you don't have the wallbox. You could easily use granny cable and take advantage of the pure electric technology as I have noticed lots of your journeys was around 30 miles anyway 😉
Regarding you not telling its not cheaper than petrol. It usually costs 1.4 pounds per liter. If you drive a car that do 6L/100KM, it will cost you 0,85 pounds per 10km. 50km will cost you 4,26 pounds. Here in Sweden, our most expensive kwh costs 0,38 per kwh (9 kwh in Niro), and that lands you at 3,42 pounds, which equates to 0,68 pounds per 10km. It's not much but that is when you use the most expensive public charger. I fully charge the 9kwh for 0,4 pounds at home that drives me for 50 km.
here in iceland our fuel cost 1.94 euro per liter, charging outside my house is 0.20 euro per kwh, i could get it at 0.15 euro but i don't have my own station. So to fully charge my Optima Phev is about 2.2 euro and i should get about 35-40 km in cold but in summer about 55-60 km You still like your Niro?
@@ibbi270 yeah we never import electric and Sweden are self sufficient in that regard. Maybe that’s why it’s cheaper here. But yeah overall I’m pretty happy with my Niro. I have the highest package so I have pretty much everything available. Some technology are better in other cars like the radar but I haven’t had any issues with the car itself. The engine sounds too much though for my liking but I don’t know if that’s normal. Have driven diesels all my life. With that said, I’d probably sell it in the coming months though due to the crap baggage space. If I buy a house with a charging box i could probably buy the ev version, they’re like 22 000 euros so it’s not too steep and then it would probably be worth to give up more bagage room then because they’re not any other good car manufacturers in that price range. Ceed maybe if I still have to charge it in 12A.
Hi i bought the kia niro plugin 2019 its kind of noisy when start .is this normal.I cant hear any banging engine sounds but noisy and like little whispering? Is that common for kia plugin hybrid
