Short answer about the name: Niro - Near Zero (Emissions)

Goeie review, Casper! Fraaie kar ook. Kia is geen merk (meer) om je voor te schamen wanneer je op zoekt bent naar een degelijke daily.

I like it very much!

The Niro is a good name and falls in line with the rest of the Kia family. Very interested but would like to see it as a plug-in to get those extra miles. A great start for the millennials.

In the mean time , I am sticking with my Kia Sportage 2016 2.0 turbo diesel 4 wd 185 Horses .Maybe later a Hybrid .

5:20 Een Golf GTE is een plug -in hybride, de Niro een normale Hybride. Verklaart lijkt me dat de Golf zwaarder aanvoelt (veel meer accu's).

Als je plat op de grond gaat liggen voor de auto, schuin naar boven kijkt en met je ogen knijpt is het net een Porsche Cayenne.

KIA explains Niro name, as sort of cool reminisce of sounds "Zilch", "Null", "Zero" in various languages to highlight its low emission due to usage of hybrid powertrain.

Die Golf GTE is een plug-in hybride, dus die heeft waarschijnlijk een veel hoger gewicht aan accu's aan boord, maar dat terzijde.

drive a RIO 2013 with 90000km and no failure at all. best car i owned since 25years. dont regret one second the change from VW to the asian car with a ot of warranty time ! But i swear a BMW X2 is much better in handling and performance than this heavy 1450kg underpowered car ;-) It´s Hyundai brother Ioniq with the same powerplant does much better in acceleratiom, top speed and fuel economy only due to less weight; it´s not a fat SUV. Im excited how they will sell in germany because on autobahn we drive faster than 120km/h and over that its engine works to hard with the weight. Transmission has "only" 6speeds which is more pleasant to drive as a CVT. But a 8speed would improve the fuel economy by a good margin and reduse rpm´s at autobahn speeds; KIA should go with a 8speed ! And for the name....the first i heard "Niro" i thought about the Dodge Niro which is a robust all terrain car like a jeep with less comfort and AWD truck axle. I dont know why they choose that name; especially in USA where DODGE is very common the people will instantly think about a AWD crossover or SUV....but not a underpowered Hybrid.

Nou casper ik ga elk weekend met mn 2 serie nordic walken hoor 😂. Maar ok leuk dat je er een grapje doorheen gooit maar kom er niet zo vaak op terug. Word een beetje afgezaagd en saai zo. Verder prima review.

This car is unacceptably slow to 100kmh and has a ridiculously low top speed of 160kmh, yet it has Michelin Pilot Sport tyres? WTF????

Ha,ha,ha, nee ik ga absoluut niet Nordic Walking in het weekend. Tot je 50ste denk je dat je nog alles kan, tot dat de 50 nadert en net als een occasion, zijn er puntjes van aandacht, bij de mens meestal in stijver worden, dus de hoge instap komt dan in de picture. De Niro zit tussen de compacte crossover en de hatchback in. Prijzen doen rond de 26.000 heb ik al gehoord en zijn broertje de Hyundai IONIC deelt de hybride aandrijflijn, maar dan in nog 2 andere opties en is goedkoper (22.000). Grote plus van deze halve crossover is de 1300 kg geremd trekgewicht. Nadeel is dat de hybride toevoeging geen spetterende cijfers heeft in zuinigheid opleverd, wat bij de IONIC wel is, maar ja hogere bomen vangen meer wind wat voor veel midi MPV en compacte crossovers ook geld.

Was fur eine Sprache ist das? Ich verstehe manche Worter auf Deutsch, aber bei Weitem nicht alle. Das Auto scheint ziemlich gut zu sein.
