Getting ready to do this for my 2011 Kia Rio...Do you mind commenting the tool list including the sizes of sockets, etc. I know I'll need a spring compressor as well. Doing this with a friend and his old man will supervise some of it, but all necessary details please comment. This is directed towards the content creator, however any experienced mechanic or experienced DYI guy would be greatly appreciated! Looking to do this on the 4th of February.
2010-2013, 1st Gen, North America, Kia Soul is similar strut set up. The 1st Gen Soul has Spartan suspension. For front Struts, I go with Dealership OEM or SACHS brand struts. For the rear shocks, I use KYB . To prep for rear shock removal, it helps to soak the top most bolt , front & back , with penetration oil, the night before. The back mechanism where the bolt ,"bites," is weak & prone to breaking. I learned this on YT : " 2011 Kia Soul shocks Arthur's Pontiac Fiero blog " Peace.
I have the same kia and I live in a city with bad roads the car hits underneath, I want it not to hit underneath making it higher, do I get the coilovers for that car? Greetings and thanks for your response.
This happened to me this morning it's hard to find parts for a Kia Rio 5 2007 but I want to lower it if I'm going to do the job I'm going to be there I might as well make it look like I want but I don't know the first thing on how to lower it or what to look for can you give me some advice and do I have to change anything else to lower the car in the front?
There are more than one way to lower cars 1st you cant cut the springs, second you can look online for lowering springs and 3rd you can buy coil overs 2nd and 3rd are the best options
