The little rubber "peekaboo thing" is an access hole when it's removed so you can adjust the parking brake by turning the adjuster inside through the hole with a screwdriver.

Removing the rear brake drum can be a beast! Using a small piece of 2x4 wood positioned at the outside upper edge of the roto, right where the dust shield is cut out, then giving the wood a good firm wack with a heavy mallet or sledgehammer. Rotate the brake Roto and repeat this several times. This process will eventually break the bottom edge loose.

very helpful, thanks. one question: I've now found three separate videos for kia sedona brake jobs, and you each have completely different positioning of the brake pad squeeler.... that's un-nerving. So which is it? (and how did you know for sure?) Trailing front side; trailing back side, or leading front side? How did you know to do trailing back side? (and you apparently had quite a bit of trouble with it)

Super helpful! Unfortunately, as careful as I was, I stripped one of the Phillips screw heads that hold the rotor on. I just can't get it off! So I put it all back together as-is and taking it to a pro.

You just need an extractor... Those are easy to strip... www.harborfreight.com/screw-extractor-and-left-hand-drill-bit-combo-set-10-piece-63987.html

@@CarsandEspresso found an extractor kit at Tractor Supply for $5. Must say it made me anxious and took about 20 minutes on the screw, but I got it out! New brake pads and rotors installed, smooth and quiet. Thanks for the tip! Saved me a bundle!

The emergency brake pads looked a bit thin. Probably should have replaced them also.

I don’t know why but I never need to bleed the brakes. I never get air in the system I guess.

I don’t know why but I don’t ever have to bleed the brakes because I don’t have air in there I guess.

Yes, but it is good to get out all the old brake fluid out
