This 2003 Kia Sedona is getting new valve cover gaskets. The front is very easy and can be done quickly. The back one is harder and the intake manifold needs to be moved out of the way. Because there is a lot of the same steps to change the spark plugs I recommend doing those at the same time.

I own one of these and was looking to do this exact job. I've done a lot of engine work in the past, but mostly Subaru. It was very convenient for me to have you walk through the procedure and take away all the guesswork. As you know, it's easy to lose a lot of time fiddling around with an unfamiliar engine... especially when you're hunting for bolts with your fingertips. I was very impressed by how you communicated the steps in such a way that it was clear without being over explained. Thank you for putting this together. I'll never know how much time you actually saved me by showing me what to look for... probably a lot. I'm glad I watched this first before getting started. Great Job!

Found it after taking a break and resting a little, One thing for sure I hate kia. With 225000 miles.This van going to the crusher pretty soon. That's going to make me very happy.

I have a friend that needs this done...But, sheesh... This is alota stuff to remember to put back....Alternator was a total beast to replace....😫😫😫😫

In the video you mention to put that gasket maker on corners but only see yo pt 2 cover on front and 1 on back is that for a reason or did you just edit out the rest of the 4 corners

wow... I'm exhausted. lol A couple of questions, please.... do you have to do the front and the back? I know I have a leak in the front, can I just do that (or have it done), and what is a reasonable price to have this done? (mine is a 2002). You did a great job! I'm impressed! Thanks 🙂. The valve cover gaskets come in a set. So you have both on hand. But if you only want to replace the one that's leaking yourself that's totally up to you. If you have a shop do it I'd have them do both. You're saving over the long term total cost of vehicle repair. And you can sleep soundly knowing it's all taken care of 👊

This video would have been great to watch before I did this the first time haha. Question though- do you have to do anything special to replace the cam end plugs on the drivers side? The gasket set I bought previously didn’t have new ones in it, so I didn’t bother messing with them. But now they’re leaking. Any advice would be great- thank you!

Honestly I'm not sure 😕. I haven't had to replace one before and the manual doesn't say specifically. The labor time is 4.5hrs. Sorry that's not much help.

where do you bought the valve cover washer bolts?

If all you need are the bolts then you might try eBay or a local junk yard.

Is this the 3.6L

This is a 2003 with the 3.5L. If I'm not mistaken 2002-2005 are the same (North America). I'm not sure if the procedure is the same for the second gen 2006-2014.

What I don't get. Why didn't you show us where exactly that last bolt was on the rear valve cover. You blab about it but it doesn't help us to locate it. I'm there now and don't see it. This video would of been perfect if not for that. So next time, take a couple more minutes and use your camera to show where the f ING bolt is. I'm so upset right now. Keep my mouth shut because I want to to say something else 😤 #$%@

Good question, Both the left and right side heads have places that need gasket maker before the valve cover gets put back on. Otherwise it may leak oil.
