My dad brought Jive 10 years back it ran over 1.30L km and it's still running.... I can say semi automatic is kinda reliable 😂

1. Intension sensor is in gear gate. not on leaver.. 2. Creep function is actually half clutch(it will heat up).. dont use it in traffic.. always apply light accelerator to remove creep mode.

Kia completely changed to iMT instead of Manual because most of its buyers prefer iMT. Most people love its comfort and your control over gear change and overtake. Drive it completely like a normal manual transmission, just clutch action will be taken care by the system.

Dear Moto Fan & Asif bro, I am proud owner of Seltos HTK+ Diesel iMT bought few months back. I have driven 4000+ Km’s so far..want to share my experience. I have driven both in city and long trip once and I enjoy driving Seltos iMT never find any minor issues and drawback till date. Most refined CRDI 1.5 L diesel engine is a gem to drive especially cruising in highway.. I had many doubts while buying this machine and all of them were clarified by sales team. Took multiple test drives before taking my decision. Asir bro nailed it overall clarifying all queries in mind of common people. Regarding mileage I get 12-14km/Litre average in city usage (Chennai) and got 22+Km/litre when I driven long journeys like Yercaud etc.. also depends how you drive soft foot or hard foot.. you need to mind RPM and need to shift gears as per speed and avoid frequent unwanted braking. Compared to creta I recommend Seltos where both share same platform and engine except minor cosmetic changes.. and you save 1.5L to 2L if we go with Seltos. I enjoy my driving every single day and he never disappointed at anytime. Asir bro thanks for your video. Although This content was not available in RU-vid when I booked this gem. P.S: I can see more people raise concerns on diesel ban. As per my experience and knowledge I can say government can’t stop diesel engine cars atleast for next 10 yrs but they try to impose stringent policy changes on manufacturers to reduce pollution and increase fuel efficiency. Even if government ban diesel after 7-10 yrs it will be applicable only for newly manufactured cars not for existing bought cars years ago. In such case car manufacturers will be informed 6 months - 1 year in prior t prepare and plan for this ban so that they will stop manufacturing diesel machines. It’s is not possible to ban in one night.

Have booked the iMT, Seltos. Now Kia only seems to be having the best combination of Diesel, with iMT. CRETA unfortunately have only automatic which is way over budget. This video gives me a greater confidence. Thank you

In 2021, i did not buy seltos because of iMT and end up bought my Other choice (nexon XZ+ petrol). During 2021, IMO iMT was too early to trust for next 10+ years of usage. I may consider iMT during my next car purchase if plan to go Kia

Very informative. My dad had a knee injury and hence he preferred to avoid using clutch. So his bike preferences were Hero puch shakti, street, TVS Jive. It was a nice reminiscence when the speaker mentioned that list. Great content. Next thing is to try a iMT car. Question: Is Engine braking often good for the car? Is it okay to do engine braking when driving for long.

I think this sensor will be activated while we changing the gear we are crossing the neutral position while we crossing the neutral position the clutch Sansar will be activated for manual car also disengaging the gear we need not required clutch

Resting your hand on the gear will not engage the clutch in Seltos iMT, we own the same vehicle and it neither engages clutch nor causes issues while driving.

I believe this is a fair trade off between an AT and Manual transmission. Hyundai already has onboard diagnostics to view the clutch wear on its DCT gear boxes. So I think it should be available for an iMT as well and might give more insights on how reliable these gear boxes are in the long run. But - For a superior driving experience, the torque converter is one of the best in their line up. For reasonable control, TC gearbox as everyone knows, manual mode is always present. My choice would still be the superior Torque converter AT from kia/hyundai lineup. To me, this iMT is neither here nor there and weird gearbox choices never took off in India. Examples are abundant in two wheeler market(honda street, TVS Jive as reviewer pointed out).

As u said the sensor is placed on the gear knob,on sensing the hand pressure the pressure plate of clutch gets ready. Many of us have a habit of driving manual by placing hands on gear knob occasionally (Though its not advisable) but we cant avoid it completely in stop and go traffic! IN iMT if the same habit is followed, do the pressure plate gets wear out soon?

1. It is completely engaging as manual, just the clutch operation is taken care by actuators and indentation sensors. 2. It is hassle free as automatic and control like manual. It is the best from both worlds. Not half way in between them. 3. It is not introduced in global markets yet. We can't comment about that topic. 4. Kia doesn't forcibly sell this. Around 30% Kia customer bought iMT. They are adapting to buyers needs. Buyers want to buy iMT. Nothing forcibly here. 5. "Not suitable for Auto enthusiasts" - Car/Tech needs to make sense and satisfy user needs who are the reason mass market sales - Common Buyers. 6. Auto enthusiasts are less than a percent in sales market, Market doesn't worry about them and all their opinions at all. 7. Manual is better. Everyone said the same about when automatics introduced, manual is better it can be easily repaired by our street corner mechanic. We all know where the car market is now. 8. Are we car owners daily running into gearbox problems and our street mechanic saves us daily. I don't think so. Reality if any problem occurs we go to service center and solve it and we are good then. 9. We don't need to worry it's not the Tata's who introduced these engines or gearbox leaving us worried about issues and service centre quality of fixing them. It's the Hyundai's, pioneer in engines and gearbox.

Sir, when we are driving down hill, we generally used to drive with lower gears to use engine breaking to have better grip on the descent. Since this car beeps whenever we are off gear , should it be problematic when driving down hill ?

1. How much bookings are happening for iMT when compared to Manual/Automatic? Is there a number? 2. Is there any complaint so far? What if the sensors fail when changing the gear in iMT? 3. Is Kia Carens going to be Discontinued? I think Kia is forcing us to buy iMT rather than Automatic. Because the price difference is higher for iMT Vs Automatic when compared to Manual Vs iMT.
