Great thank u! It was very easy after I located a kia fob like mine. One concern, my Kia soul is a 2014, the video for the 2014 was another type of key fob. I found my key fob under the 2019-2021. So hopefully anyone looking for this type, u will find it here! Thank u for taking time to demo the replacement battery!😂😊
I have the same switchblade keyfob, so this video is beneficial. However there is a notch where the keyring loop is and that is a better access poin to ply open the outer plate. I noticed some people are complaining that their keyfob is different, and a simple Google search revealed that some Kia Souls have smart keyfobs with a pullout key. Once the key is pulled away, you can remove the outer plate from the opening tab.
This wasn't quite the same fob I have (2020) - mine is smart fob but able to switch out easy one I opened it up with screwdriver as it shows here. (No micro-screws inside mine!)
I think the variance is push button to start doesn't have a flip out key... Mine is a 2020 soul gt with push button start and the fob doesn't have a flip out key The battery is a cr2032 still. Remove the emergency door key by pushing in the metal rectangle on the fob and while pulling the fob and the key ring apart. Now warning little parts can drop everywhere fob buttons are separate items even the key release spring can be accidentally dislocated continue disassembly in a area to that would make falling parts easy to find I used a the key to the pry the long flat sides apart. Specifically the side opposite of the plastic part that wraps around the key comes off exposing the circuit board. Circuit board is half wrapped in rubber pull on the rubber to remove then peal rubber off. Slide out battery replace and reassembe
