Had a stinger GTS from new, part exchange of a porsche cayenne turbo and I absolutely love it. Been all over Europe in it no problems, and it's a kia faster than porsches, Audis bmw and at 280 KLM an hour it's well balanced and embarrassed all brand snobs out there.. Bravo Kia
I pick mine up this Wednesday, 12 month old ex demo. the amount of kit as standard compared to Audi/BMW was one of the main selling points. Full electric cooled seats, heads up, CarPlay, 360 cameras. You have to spend several thousand on ‘comfort’ and ‘technology’ packs to get the same spec, it sneaks under the £40k mark for cheaper tax, and it’s a real head turner. You drive past 20 3 series everyday and don’t even notice, this car makes you look. I’m more than happy to take the 5-10% drop in build quality to have that engine, warranty and looks.
I got my 2019 red GTS just over a month ago and absolutely love it. I would only consider a 2019+ personally. It has a much nicer entrainment screen, louder exhaust, ambient lighting, a proper manual mode and a couple of other tweaks. Brand new (while still good value) they are a lot and you get hit with nearly £2k's worth of tax in the first year. Subsequent years are only £150 a year. The £40k+ price on new includes the tax. The actual list price is just under so you don't get hit with the luxury tax surcharge. Mine only had 1100 miles, 1 year old and I got it for £32k. I got the next 8 services (4 years/ 48k miles) for £1,438 on top. The only major downside is the 6 monthly/6000 mile services which I think is overkill but it retains that 7 year warranty. Fuel economy for an engine this size is shocking around town but on a motorway run pretty reasonable. I have done 1500 miles so far and I am averaging 29mpg. You can get 33-35mpg on 80 mile motorway runs at 70/75mph but around town even driving like a granny you are looking low 20's. If going for the diesel or small petrol engine I think there are better cars for the money. Step into the 3.3l and it is brilliant value for money compared to a 440i or an S5. 0 - 60 time is also 4.7 seconds and not 5.1 seconds. Best car I have owned and gets a lot of looks in car parks and passers by. If you are interested you should definitely test drive one. If you can get over the Kia badge and do not care what others (who are missing out) may think purely because of the badge you will be very very happy with it.
To be honest, especially i like the vents on the hood and the side taillights lines, i believe it adds to Stinger's uniqueness. So Kia, don't always listen to these " car reviewers" Owners are the best source of feedback, in the end they are paying for the car.
Very happy owner of a Kia Stinger GTS, you are right them rear wheels love to light up with a little too much accelerator but never felt like I was out of control. The Eco mode on this car however is incredible, you'd find it very difficult to do spin out the back wheels and becomes very tame. Kia have done exceptional with this car. Little touches like the seat and steering wheel moving when you open the car door to get out easier then returning to their original position once you close it just gives it a more personal feel.
The March 2019 and on cars will stay in manual mode in Sport and Sport+, and also have a much louder exhaust. They also have the new shape infotainment screen and a few other minor updates such as ambient lighting.
Got my GT-line S 2.0 back in 2019. Approved used direct from Kia, warranty restarted back up to the full 7 years, all the kit and toys you could want. Drives brilliantly, it’s a superb GT and doesn’t try to be a sports car. Compared to the A5/430GC etc it was half the price when specked the same. Just fantastic value for money and it’s different from the usual suspects. It always gets compliments when I park up, people want to know about it and best of all, 2 years on I still look back at it when I walk away.
We recently picked up a 2019 Stinger GT2 3.3L TT AWD Limited with just 21k on the odo for $43k Cdn. Previously owned by the head mechanic at our local Kia dealership - so it's been pampered. Aside from the great performance, love the 750watt, 15-speaker Harmon/Kardon with sub-woofer audio.
downwinddavis 4/4/2024 Nearly 3 years ago I bought my dream car the Kia Stinger 3.8 twin turbo GTS in the most beautiful Chroma Red,. It sparkles in the sunlight and does far more than sparkle on the highway. I have never had so much acceloration under what is after all a sports sedan, Kias own words . Porches BMW Mercedes have all fallen to the incredible speed from zero to 60 mph around the 4 second mark. It has been the most incredable 3 years of my life motoring wise but unfortunately Illness has plagued my life with several major operations on the way.and unfortunately I am now having trouble getting in and out . Im no spring chicken any more and it is reluctantly that I have to part with my Baby. Someone some where is going to pick up the bargain of the year. a nearly 3 year old CLASSIC Kia Stinger 3.8 gts one owner from new and with only 9,678 genuine miles , full service history. I hope who ever gets her gives her as much TLC as I have and she will do you proud. Even as I parked up tonight someone came over to hear what I thought of this magnificent machine
Thanks for the review. I am choosing between 330e and Stinger. If you could give couple of comparison points from your perspective, since you have tested both, I would highly appreciate this
Thanks! And I'd be happy to help. It really depends what you're after in a car. The Stinger is by far the fastest and there's definitely something special about it. They're very rare and, in some conditions, drive like a true performance car. The 330e, meanwhile, is a better package. It's more efficient, you can run it on electric energy alone and the cabin is far more luxurious. And, because it's a BMW, it's got a brilliant chassis and lovely steering, so it's rewarding to drive, too. As an overall package, I'd go 330e, but I'm hoping some Stinger owners weigh in to prove me wrong - Cam
@@YesAutoUK Highly appreciate your opinion. I had similar feelings. Overall 330e seems to be a better choice. One of the strongest pros though for me is kia's warranty. Many thanks!
@@ardk1804 hello don't really c how u can compare the too the 330e is going to give u better mpg and is a bit smaller and like all German cars be pretty basic on equipment unless someone has put 10k+ of extras in it. if its something ur going to keep a long time the bmw will cost u more. at the end of day if u can live with 25mpg or less in my case 🤣 its not too bad on a run but still erely 30s and service every 6k don't think u can go wrong with the stinger it all depends on what ur looking for the 530e is more of a similar size depends on whether u want to blend in or stand out 😆 no that's not really any help but u should take Em both for a drive and ur c the stinger is better to drive but bmw is better inside 🤷♂️ but be warned the 3.3 is a brilliant engine and it will make u want one 🤣
I got mine because is a bit different don't c many on the road and in my opinion its better on the road then the s5 or 440 both of which r a much harder ride think the Germans need to remember uk roads aren't as nice as there's 🤣 don't understand y u would want a track day family car 🤷♂️ think ur opinion was about right on the stinger is a good 1/2 way house its not perfect but honestly wich one is 😬🤣 it really is a bit of a hidden gem hope it stays that way if it gets too popular il have to find something else 🤣
We need a car not a plastic rubber. We know the price is fabulous, but it is really rubbish cheep plastic assembly. BMW and Mercedes has a quality plastic and materials plus engineering performance. Kia life is short after 5 years you will get lots of problems. Because, it is not a just design of body or Shane 🚗. Quality first, safety and security , comfortable and price of curse . Thanks
@@briantrigger4797 hi Brian. Don't know what happened there. That wasn't my comment. I bloody love the Stinger. And yes they are new so comment is nonsense.
What are you talking about? I fix cars for a living and I'm grateful for the German "quality" brands! They are absolute rubbish, Kia/Hyundai absolutely wipe the floor with them 😁
