I've been obsessed with the live concert from Sonar for a year now. I don't know how I never saw this improvisation excerpt with Nils Frahm! On repeat!
I think this is one of the highlights of 21st century tech music. One always says that tech music is all produced and there is no room for improvisation. Yet this is a proof of how live tech performances might be able to push towards the boundaries of human creativity. Tnx guys, love from Ankara
Totally agree but actually tech Music is only Completly pre Produced in dj Sets and good djs improvise something New out of the pre Producer tracks.... but all great Electronic live Act artists have that improvised aproach even in house or techno I could Name a whole list here .... but when you are in to more synth sounds check out skinnerbox from Berlin they have 6 hour jam Sessions on RU-vid Completly improvised
Holy shit this is the most incredible live set I've ever seen, every note sounds so purposeful and precise but there's undoubtedly an improvisational feel to it. Plus its fucking beautiful
Olafur and Nils already have great taste of improvisation and many times they share the same stage. And now Janus is attached on this Collabration. And the result is splendid!
Nils Frahm: “There are a thousand million piano players out there but if somebody says, ‘Oh, this must be Nils’, then I achieved my goal,” 9:26 "Oh, this must be Nils" even if the filming director has no idea of what's going on..
For a short while from 4:45, we who watch this video also start dancing. Like Ólafur. Leave everything to Janus. And we also get a little closer to Nils than usual. I feel like that.
