Great video! Finally I now understand my love of cardigans! I have a lot of blazers. As a pear shape I know a blazer balances my upper body and love the look of blazers on others, but have never felt really comfortable wearing mine. I found I much preferred a cardigan but thought maybe they looked too sloppy. I’m assuming this is a SC thing too - the feel of the fabric is so important to me. Before I even try anything on I rub the fabric between my fingers to see if it passes the soft test 😊
Phenomenal! I really appreciated that you spoke to examples and highlighted what we should be noticing as a soft classic. I have always gravitated toward silks, cashmeres and flowing sundresses but I never understood why I wouldn't grab for some of them a second time. When I started to notice this style suiting me the best I started to dress "preppy" but this never felt like me. I'm definitely a boho chic or boho minimalist fan. Would you mind doing a series where you style soft classics in different aesthetics?
I just found out I was a soft classic today and I’ve seen a few videos on this and I find it so odd over the years I’ve naturally gravitated to pieces that fit into this style. I have a ton of basics and love dressing very simply while I let my accessories add more personality. I don’t like very harsh lines on me or extremely draped things. Learning that I’m a soft classic let’s me know why though. Thanks so much because now I feel like I understand why I don’t like certain styles on myself & I can be even more deliberate while shopping. I still like a little bit of edge in my looks sometimes so now I’m going to have to see if I can still incorporate those pieces into my looks.
I really always wanted to wear Jamie Chung's wardrobe from a tv show she was on for a while. I like her outfits here, too, as well as the others you chose. They have a lot of interest to them while not being ostentatious. Even the simpler outfits are not boring. I don't know my Kibbe type, but I love when people show the Classics with the richness and interest they possess, just as much as the other types.
You’re gorgeous, but it wd help me to see each photo full screen as you’re discussing it, esp viewing on phone where they’re tiny. Enjoying learning from you.
I'm between soft classic and soft gamine, I might be wrong, how would soft classic lines fit a soft gamine? I have a sharp nose and sharp elbows and I'm always afraid of looking off even in the right lines because of my features.
Kibbe has stopped using Pure Classic, Natural, and Gamine since it is so rare to find someone who is exactly in the middle of those groups so I never make videos on them :)
