For those who have never played on clay, this serve hit a line. Lines on clay court are made out of hard plastic that stick out of the ground and when the ball hits the edge of the line, it can bounce uncontrollably.
@@valorwgs1740 No, because after a set is when I believe when they smooth out the court again, and they use this chain net that they drag across the court, and if it was painted on then the net would mess up the lines.
Ive tried the serve many many times with varying success. It’s puts a lot of torque on the wrist like throwing a screwball in baseball. But you can see when you freeze it just milliseconds after contact the grip and palm is twisted to the right and away from the body as opposed to in and towards the left

That's a nasty kick there. I'm assuming it caught the line or hit an uneven patch of clay as that kicked like an utter mule. Very impressive if that serve didn't have a dodgy bounce🤣👍
If you are playing a server with a big kick, my advice would be to move up closer to the box and take it earlier! Sabr style or come up at them and let them know it. Sometimes it can mess with their head.
I did something like that on hard court but was never able to replicate it again. Now I've been able to get it as high as an average person's head at 5 '8"
Iv used worn Tretorn pressureless balls before and hit a serve once that missed my opponent’s head by about 2 inches.. went through the court that fast
That high bounce wasn't BC of the kick. A kick serve admittedly would have bounced up very high like this one, but spun to the right as well. This one doesn't.
But I have watched many tennis matches, never saw any world class player can serve and let the ball bounced so high before, unless the ball is hit hard near the net with huge force. The service distance from the base is made so that any service may not be able to let the ball bounce too high so as not to give problem to the taker. If all the services are like that nobody can play tennis any more, hahaha.
Would be cool if it was in. I had a kick serve bounce off a pebble once and i thought i just struck it superb lol, didn't realize til i couldn't replicate a crazy high bunch that it had to have hit something
But thats clay for you. Alcaraz has the best kick serve of the year in Miami. OMG it had to be 12 feet in the air and pulled off the court the same distance.
