If only he had the lungs. After 3-4 rounds, he's gassed. That's why he always went for the KO asap. He knew that regardless of whether he went all in or paced himself, he was gonna fighting for breath sooner later
@alter5057He didn't beat Peter Aerts, the fight was stopped in the first round, because Peter injured his leg. Francois Botha's record in Kickboxing is 4-12. The guy won 4, lost 12. How is boxing superior to Kickboxing? He also had one fight in MMA which he lost via armbar. You boxing fans are really delusional with this idea that a boxer beats everybody
@alter5057 Francois beat Peter Aerts without throwing a punch, so his boxing didn't do anything in that fight. The guy Briggs fought in the video is not even a kickboxer, he is a wrestler, and Briggs wouldn't handle 2 more kicks. Mike Tyson lost to Buster Douglas, Mike never beat the top tier fighters of his generation, and you think he would go to kickboxing and beat everybody. Francois beat only one legend and lost to other 12, but somehow you think that's a hell of an accomplishment. I mentioned MMA because you are one of those delusional boxing fans who thinks that a boxer would go to MMA and ko everybody. Ray Mercer got chocked by Kimbo Slice, but you don't mention that, you just mention his ko victory over Tim. It's like an MMA fan mentioning Anderson Silva win over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, but ignoring his loss to Jake Paul. I like boxing as much as I like kickboxing, I would rather watch an old Pernell Whitaker fight, than watch any current kickboxing match. But I'm not delusional to think that Pernell would go to kickboxing and beat everybody.
@alter5057 How don't records prove my points if your boxer Francois lost to 12 kickboxers and beat only 4? Watch what Alexey Ignashov did to King Arthur Williams, then explain me how is boxing a superior art. You act as if kickboxers don't know how to box, you act as if they can only throw kicks. Your points are based on speculation when you say that Pernell and Mike would beat every kickboxers. They would beat some kickboxers, but would lose to some others, and based on the evidences of what happens when boxers fight kickboxers, they would probably lose more than would win. Like Francois lost more than won. And how would a kickboxer fight a boxing legend if boxers never fight outside of a boxing ring, under boxing rules? To get a fight against a boxing legend is almost impossible. They always refuse to go to MMA or any other combat sport, and to get a fight with them under boxing rules is almost impossible as I said before.
@alter5057 Mike Tyson would probably beat the majority of the kickboxers he fought, but to say he would beat all the kickboxers in the first round is pure speculation. Everybody thought he would ko Buster Douglas easily, but look what happened. In a stand up fight, a guy with better hands usually wins, since it is way easier to ko someone with a punch, than with a kick. But for a boxer to be superior to a kickboxer, he needs to know how to defend kicks, because the kickboxer also has good hands, and knows how to block punches. Stop saying Botha beat Aerts, you just make boxing look worse, because Aerts lost to himself in that fight, Botha didn't even land a punch. So how is that a win of boxing over kickboxing, if the boxer didn't land a single punch?
@@stephencox8723 I can tell by your responses you should be commenting on fighting. Either you don’t know how to fight or you just have a bias. Either way. Not very credible
I love hearing Biggs describe the conversations he has with himself in those moments of going through some serious pain. From my own experience Even in sparring you need to be able to keep yourself in the fight and it’s entirely mental. The kicks and punches hurt yes, but it’s about how much you want it and are willing to take in order to win. The hardest part is honestly telling yourself that it’s all worth it and to keep fighting lol, the physical pain is real but it’s all about how far you’re willing to go. Theres always someone who can go a little further too that’s what makes the sport so exciting to participate in and watch.
Boxing will always be king prime mike Tyson will devour any MMA in a street easy in the streets you grab I can hit your nuts grab your ear twist that shit 😂 but MMA fans or some fighters don't understand because they grew up in the suburbs in good homes there father just put them in MMA classes since young they don't got the same killer instincts as boxers because boxers for the most part come from rough places they grew up fighting before training
@@heightsfynest6023 yeah because the people that learn mma don’t know how to break the rules of mma on the street they still try armband and stuff totally won’t trip you and jump on your head 2 foot style
@@vanhoofkhan3553 nigga said jump on your head bro he gonna get rocked way before he can take a MF who can strike with speed and power to the ground you Indian ya don't know about fighting prime mike Tyson will devour any prime MMA guy who ever you think is the best an you know that
Say what you want too about Shannon but he had 37 first round knockouts in his career, which some say is the most first round knockouts by a single fighter in boxing history. He was dangerous 💥
If I got it right, he became a troll, because although he did enough to fight the champ they wouldn't let him. So he decided to troll promote himself to the fullest going harder than connor. Man this guy followed Klitschko in Europe. Isn't he from America? That's a long flight to troll, and I respect the hustle.
A class act, unlike mike tyson. Id strongly suggest you all watch their podcast together, its very strange to me how mike was so against building boxing clubs in their hometown (they're both from the same part of new york I think).
Boxers are real fighters. A great boxer will beat anyone in a street fight. Try doing ju jitsu on hot pavement it works in a gym setting, everything else looks good in the movies kickboxing
The dude Briggs beat (Tom Erikson) wasn’t even an actual kickboxer lmao, he was a college wrestler that went 1-4 in K1 and had absolutely no striking capability. He went on to form a solid fight team in Pride FC, but he was absolutely not a real kickboxer.
But I thought all you keyboard warriors needed to do was leg kick a boxer and they will lose 😂 I saw someone say they would beat Canelo cause they trained Muay Thai 😂
@@Ashw1115 Once again, Tom Erikson isn’t a Muay Thai fighter or Kickboxer, he was specifically a college wrestler. Every fight between a kickboxer/MT fighter and a boxer has ended because of kicks to the leg, or to the head.
Nah. Kicking is not that effective. Wrestling best style and boxing is a close second. Adesanya and periera who were legit kickboxers finish people with hands not kick.
People underestimate boxing. Speed, best footwork, strategy, velocity and crazy endurance. End of the day though, anyone with contact combat experience is going to be dangerous.
I admire Shannon Briggs, but with all my respect, his opponent was Tom Erikson, a Wresting Champion, with very least experience in Kickboxing or even Boxing. From 5 fights, Tom Erikson only won 4.
Tom Erikson is a wrestler, who decided to fight in kickboxing for some reason. If a real K-1 guy had kicked him he would be in trouble. You can tell Erikson can't even kick hard.
Chill bro, I know your ego is hurt but you don't have to explain 😂 don't take this video too personally. Briggs was better at what he does than the other guy at what he does. The video doesn't say "boxer Vs Amazing Kickboxer". The other guy is trying to kickbox, whether he sucks or not. You can still hold on to your "kicks are better than punches" philosophy and sleep at night.
Na most MMA guys grew up in the suburbs good Schools parent's put them in mix martial arts since young but most of the can't really fight just wrestle they can't punch for shit look at khaibib I've seen him hit the mitts dude so slow terrible in the streets you can't strike your done boxing get dudes from the slums from poverty
