Hello from Chicago! Since I found your vlogs I have seen the most amazing places! Places that I never thought about visiting. Thanks for sharing your journey with us! Hopefully I’ll get to visit some of them! Thanks Ben!!!!!
Thank you, Tanna! 😁 I’ve been to Chicago a few times but only to the airport! I need to visit again sometime 😊 I’m glad that you like traveling with me!
NCL got really good value when they sold you this cruise for $550 because you have said “Norwegian Prima” approximately 1100 times over this series of videos! 😂
Good bye Prima. Another reason I love NCL is that as a stock holder of at least 100 shares I get $100 shipboard credits, $250 for 15 day cruises. I’ve already gotten all my investment back and the stock has risen 30%.

We were actually on the same cruise as you! Too bad we didn’t run into each other! Would have love to say hi. I am just working on uploading our vlogs from it now! Hope you enjoyed your trip as much as we did!
@@lindsayslivealittle thank you, Lindsay’s! I loved this cruise a lot, beautiful new ship and amazing ports! I just watched your Geiranger vlog, wow that place was beautiful! Definitely one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. I think I saw you guys once in the arcade on the Prima 😂 I remember seeing a family with a small daughter filming with a big camera and I wondered if they were vloggers, I think that was you! Thank you for watching, I hope you guys had a great cruise too! I’m looking forward to watching the rest of your videos from this trip! I subscribed to you 😁
@@TravelWithBen121 thanks so much for watching and subscribing! Yea that probably was us! We have a big camera. Too bad we didn’t get to meet! It was a great trip! Fun to see what other people did on the same trip! Love your content!
Ben why dont you use roaming? You could have used it for a little while to get the app to work. It should not be that expensive for a simple thing like that. Just dont download anything big or watch any videos and so on. Or maybe you could have gotten a prepaid sim card with some data on it. 🙂
You’re right, I did have options but it was totally my fault! I was only in Reykjavik for 2 days so it seemed like a waste to get a sim but I learned my lesson 😂
Yes enjoyed the cruise series. I see they have graffiti even in iceland. Its expensive in the US to eat but I think there prices are higher. I agree Pepsi is better than Coke.
Thanks, Carol! I had a great cruise 😁 there’s actually a surprising amount of graffiti in Iceland! Iceland is more expensive than the US in my experience!
I just binged some of your videos. They have awesome content and great useful information Also you have a very unique accent a mix of UK, German, and US-sounding
When I was in Iceland to board the Prima for the voyage before yours (June 13-23), I took the bus once. I had to use a newfangled payment method called "Cash" which works without a cell phone. ( I did had to pay 650 kr instead of 630 kr because I didn't have the exact change)
Nice video! It still looked rather cloudy but at least it didn’t rain. I like that even in the capital, there aren’t too many people 😬. I wonder if the outdoor cats feel cold. To think that I get worried when it rains and my cat is not back home - and I live in the tropics 😂! I love visiting supermarkets when I travel- I’d always end up buying local snacks to try! That would be expensive to do in Iceland though. Love the colourful houses. Can’t wait to see your puffin-watching trip!
It was very windy and cloudy but no rain, very lucky! It’s definitely the least crowded capital city I’ve ever seen before! I’m sure the cats have their own hiding spots when it snows! There were many cats hanging out on the street. The prices in Iceland were definitely a shock! Thank you for watching, Lim 😊
Hello Ben, Thank you so much for your entertaining, informative, and honest accounts of your experiences onboard the Prima! My wife and I, along with two cherished friends (husband and wife) are scheduled to match your itinerary beginning 9/14 in Southampton and concluding 9/25 in Reykjavik, during which we will be celebrating our 33rd anniversary and my 67th birthday (same day) as well as our 11th NCL cruise, having initiated our cruise experiences on our honeymoon during a 7 day Mediterranean cruise on the Norway. During this adventure we will be renewing our marital vows in the Norway’s chapel with the help of one of the ship’s crew with our friends serving as my Best Man and his wife as my wife’s Matron of Honor. Do you have any recommended “Must sees” in any of our ports of calls? Thanks again for allowing us to share your journey!❤ -Todd
Thank you so much for watching, Todd! You will have an amazing time on the Prima and this itinerary! Sounds like you have a lot to celebrate 😊 All of my videos from the cruise are there anytime you want to watch them to get ideas for things to do! I say in the videos that some ports it’s great to just walk and explore but other ports it’s best to take an excursion. All of the Norway and Iceland ports are very different from each other and there’s a lot on offer for excursions and going out yourself! Enjoy your celebratory cruise! 😁
11:14 - There are over 100 bars in downtown Reykjavik, not just 5 😆 12:50 - That's Café Babalú across the street, they have money on walls and hanging from the ceiling. Did you go inside? This might be the place you described earlier in the video.
I meant there are 5 cars on that ‘main street’, not the whole of Reykjavik 😊 I didn’t go inside that cafe but it definitely wasn’t the one I went to! I would have remembered that blue roof 😂
Ben, you have the best and most honest videos because you mean what you say and say what you mean. I don’t know if that made sense, but I understood it. 😂
Wages are higher in Iceland than the UK. There are so many bars in Reykjavik. Not just 5. You can buy tickets for buses in some stores. But you just need to turn your data on while you board thr bus. Anyone could have sent you a screen shot hence why they aren't accepted. Its the same in many countries. You need a live QR code
Derek, I meant there are 5 bars on that street, not the whole of Reykjavik 😂 my hotel receptionist didn’t tell me I can buy a bus ticket in a store. I’ve been to 65 countries and Iceland is the first one I’ve been to that requires a live QR code 😁 no problem, life goes on!
Dear Airalo, there is this RU-vidr called Ben, who really needs a cooperation with you, because he has no internet access on his mobile phone to show his islandic bus ticket 😂
Another good video. Saying goodbye to the ship is always sad. You go from an all-inclusive vacation, to an a-la-carte one. I don't know if you went back to England after your stay in Iceland, but the ship was headed right back to Southampton. I wonder if you could have got as good a deal on the cruise back to Southampton? With regards to the bus, it's too bad they didn't have ticket purchase options at the stop. When we lived in Switzerland, if you did not have a pass, each stop had machines where you could purchase your ticket. Very easy to do! And of course, here in Puerto Vallarta, you pay your 10 pesos to the driver. If you need change, you have to wait for more people to board the bus and get your change from them 🙂.
Thank you, Lorraine! It’s always sad to say goodbye but there will be a next time 😁 I did look at sailing right back to Southampton but it was sold out when I looked! In Reykjavik, you can buy a ticket from the bus driver but only with cash and I didn’t have any Icelandic Krona! There are no ticket machines at the bus stop. I remember, when I was in Cancun, you jumped on the tiny bus and gave your money to the driver while he was still driving 😂 sometimes the door didn’t even shut! Is it the same where you live??
@@TravelWithBen121 Yes! with the heat and no air conditioning on the buses (even though they are equipped, most don't use it), you appreciate the doors being kept open. There are so many people on the buses here, we either walk or take an Uber or Taxi if the walk is too far or the weather too hot or rainy.
Hi Ben, I find your videos interesting, so keep up the good work. I too, am a solo traveller. Is it possible that you were on the Serenade of the Seas last November, travelling from Miami to Los Angeles through the Panama Canal? I met someone that looked vaguely like you that spoke Chinese.
My favorite world traveler! Sad to see the Prima go, but I'm looking forward to our next adventures. Free walking tours sound very interesting. So sorry you got kicked off the bus. Relying on apps certainly leads to problems. BTW...I was so irritated by that drumming guy...I had to mute him!
Thank you, Fredwina 😊 I was sad to leave the Prima too but on to the next adventure! It was totally my fault for my having internet access but they need to make it easier for tourists to take public transport 😁 I wish I could have muted the drummer too 😂
The restaurant may have been Icelandic Street Food on Lækjargata. They definitely have soup in bread bowls and money on the walls, but I'm not sure they were there 7 years ago. Maybe they were
Maybe you’re right, Leah! I did find one place with money on the wall but it was like a bar/restaurant but the place I went to was a tiny restaurant with like 20 seats in it 😂
LET’S GO!! That trip looked like fun and beautiful ports!! Thank you for the videos and awesome GIANTS BEANIE!…. Btw I love what you say when you pass a cemetery lol “THEY ALL DIED WITH REGRETS!”
I’ll probably get voted off the island for saying this, but Pepsi is not better than Coke. But, as you might note, there are more beautiful women in Pepsi commercials. 😂 Can’t wait to see puffins, but they better not be on the menu, which occasionally happens in Iceland. 🥺 Thanks for another entertaining video series, Ben!
HAHA boooo, my favorite soft drink is Dr Pepper which is a Coke product so I accept it 😂 Puffins are actually on the menu in some Iceland restaurants! I was told that the meat is not worth the taste so don’t try it! Thanks for watching the series, Jeanne! 😊
Was that really the same bus that you were kicked off from that you saw after the football match ?? I wonder if the driver saw you walking so far away ?? Great video. I travel solo and quite often walk somewhere, change my mind, go somewhere else...
It was the bus 😂 same number and same route! I don’t mind walking but the original game I wanted to go to was far away so that’s why I tried to take the bus! It’s okay, turned out fine in the end 😁
@@TravelWithBen121Love it. I hope the driver felt guilty...you should have started limping haha I have some friends going to Iceland so I warned them about the danger 😀 so thanks
(13:42) The church's architecture must be inspired by the Stuðlagil Canyon basalt-rocks. Rather bleak. Did you visited the Canyon? Sweden produced those depressing Ingmar Bergman movies. Wonder what kind of movies Iceland produced.
Hahahaha...you LOVE to tweak people when you say "all those people" (in the cemetery) "died with regrets." LOL In Reykjavik we always eat those killer hotdogs ("with the works") several times ... a good, cheap meal.
Here the driver would let you ride bus for free if you had app issues or if you couldn’t pay just let you on. How terrible. I am surprised the bus isn’t free there too. Our bus is $2.50 for single ticket or $5 for all day. Canadian.
Americans and their guns! 😂 Weird. Hey it wasn’t that long ago that Iceland beat England at the World Cup! Sorry if that brings back painfull memories 😂😢😂😢
