I was simply going to shout out "Sauna experience!", knowing full well that's absolutely impossible yet I would genuinely love to see what it's like someday. Anyhoo, realistically I enjoyed every single pre show and during show and aft vlogs and would love to keep seeing that...which is basically rando snippets of anything. It's all so fun. Not very helpful, I know. Regardless, thanks for sharing your experiences Tank! P.S. Adding random snippets of Ingrid/Claire calls is the cutest and the outro was awesome. ❤
I like the vlogs because it gives you the perspective of how much work goes into the shows, make you appreciate them more and it gives the spot light to the crew.
these EC Vlogs feel like a warm hug, watched all the ones from Europe tour. i still can't believe all that happens behind the scenes, like a chill duck gliding on water but underneath the little legs are furiously moving.
i was at this show & i have to say it was hands down one of THE BEST SHOWS IVE EVER BEEN TO......got an uber back to my hotel room & was telling him about the show & he started playing electric callboy & it was his 1st time hearing them & he was rocking out so hard lmao
Yoooo I was there too and this show was rowdy! Spent almost the whole show in and around the pit. Cant wait to see them a third time. First time was Blue Ridge ‘23 😅
Tank makes some of the best content online nowadays, in my opinion at least. Thanks for making these videos, Tank, and also for exposing me to Electric Callboy’s music, who said you can’t discover new music at 35 🤘🏻
I'm 49 and the main reason I subscribed to his channel was to discover new music. Thanks to Tank, I've become a fan of bands like Spiritbox and and Jinjer.
You're not alone, also discovered this band through Tank's videos probably about a year ago, and made it to this show which was like 3 weeks before my 40th birthday.
I hadn't given Electric Callboy a chance in the past because I thought they were strictly an EDM act. I see they are a real band with real instruments, and I will check out their music. It sounds good from what I've heard here. I'm 55 but still finding new stuff.
@AP-RSI In the beginning of the video he tells the date when he was filming this - 9th of May 2004. He still has his long beard when he reacted to RATATATA, while he was in Japan. In early June EC and Babymetal performed their song live in Germany. Then we got a video showing Tank with a short beard in his experience going to a German Sauna. So there is no magic with his beard, just a delayed publishing of his roadi vlog...
Whaat. Only 30 min? 😆 Haha, just kidding. Love that we even get these vlogs. Thanks Tank! These are so interesting. Love that we saw some of the gear setup/packing in the beginning too. 😄
So you managed to fit all of that in one truck!!! That's good going there. Im not sure if its interesting to anyone else but I would like to see how they get everything in there. Great job on the vlog too. I think i have watched all of them and at the beginning im joining in with Nico and Tank on the air drums now.
Aw, Kevin the big kid, saying hi to Ingrid the little kid. Thanks for giving us the behind the scenes look, it is cool to see everything come together.
I'm so happy that my home venue, The Fillmore Silver Spring, was so good to you guys! Also, the fact that Dog Haus got approval from Germans is a big deal as well!
So excited that we get more EC vlogs from you now! In one of your earlier vlogs, you started to do a time-lapse of the load in. I would *love* to see a full time-lapse of one of those, to see the wonderful crew in action!
I still think it's totally funny that Pascal dated a friend of mine back then, but she didn't know that he was in a band. She worked in a venue at the time and totally complained about the band. It was just so silly that the guys (back then with “Sushi”) were standing behind her. Maybe he still remembers her, she can remember well and sinks into the ground every time she hears an EC song.
Best type of manager in my opinion. Just like in company I work not music industry but logistics is my job for company. Make sure everyone is happy, ask if we need something but not the type of I'm smarter then you or something like that. I respect that type of people with no ego.
As always Tank, it's good to see you and I hope you're well 8^) You ever marvel at how wild things are? Like, you indirectly got me into EC (I watched Julia's video first). Or your entire history with EC, full stop of course. Or how I indirectly found my favourite author because my dear friend gave me a Dave Matthews Band album. I met my spouse on the sidewalk. Life is really wild. If you've read this far, thank you kindly. Today's my birthday. Sometimes I call out to the void to see who's listening.
@@TankTheTech and it's amazing how you fit in there... there's always the possibility that the band and you couldn't stand each other, then none of this would have happened at all. But it instantly matched and now you have become like a 7th band member :D
Man, you don't miss a beat. Getting your hands dirty everywhere. A real lead by example type of dude. Right down to grabbing a burger for the truck driver and wiping down the confetti from the risers. Love to see it.
Great vlog, Tank. It's very cool to see some of what goes into making these shows and tours happen. It's always impressive with all that gear and all those people to move it and set it up. It was very sweet to hear your daughters voice, and fun with Kevin saying hello to her. I know it's just one of these parasocial things, but it warms my heart to think that I've been following your channel before she was even born, and to see the success you've had since then. I like it when people do well, and tiny humans are the best, so hearing her voice just punctuated that by putting her stamp on the timeline.
Been watching you now for several years or more, although I’m old now and remember touring in the 80’s and 90’s, I really want to compliment you on the fine work you do, your attention to detail gives me hope that the younger generation can actually make a change, no matter what you do in life I believe your videos can inspire people, and you indeed inspire me , thanks for doing this
RU-vid no me había avisado de esto. Gracias hermano por el video y me alegro que te vaya bien con la banda. Te deseo mucho éxito y espero verlos en Chile alguna vez.
Seeing these vlogs takes me back 40 years when i did rock and roll (yeah, we did it back then). Unloading truck after truck. 8am to 2am. Nap when you could. I fell asleep on a stack of Clair Brothers subs once during a show - thats how tired you get after doing 6 or 7 nights straight. Its a little easier today. Audio and lighting is much smaller and lighter. The technology is harder.
It's super cool to see the behind the scenes from a show I was fortunate enough to go to (If anyone out there reading this did a single ticket resale at around $75 roughly a week before the show instead of the $150-200 (or more) dollars they'd been at since the weekend they went on sale, thank you!). I'm glad to hear you speak highly of the Filmore. I hadn't been there in many years, but went twice that week and was really impressed by the venue staff. Even security seemed to be that good mix of doing their job, but letting people have fun. I have never seen so much crowd surfing at a show, you guys and the band did an excellent job and put on one hell of a fun show.
Great vlog! The amount of technology you need for the shows is crazy. And getting everything to work perfectly every time is what makes a professional. You're a great team.
Unsolicited advice - somebody can spray the stage costumes with alcohol (vodka in a mist bottle should work). It kills the bacteria that break down sweat and cause the smell. Theatre costumers often do that to keep costumes a bit fresher between washes.
@@tayet6875 it does outside the EU and when gotten from friends. retail distilled alcohol is 40% in europe. it's why in the US you can get 70% tequila and everclear
This was such an amazing show! Was super lucky to have been able to make it. And these vlogs have been fantastic. So very cool to recognize crew members throughout it all!
Every time I watch a new vlog it makes me smile 😁 And it seems clear that good people attract good people, everyone is just very good at what they are doing band, crew, support and of course you. Loved to see the prep and check work, so much goes into making these shows work smoothly. Great job and looking forward to the next one, they are worth a bit of a wait 😊
Thanx Tank for letting us into your workday and behind the curtains once more - it's so fun to se how everything works even if the venues naturally are different 🙂 I'm glad you're back with the vlogs. They also made it even more fun to attend a concert, as at Sweden Rock I already knew how things kinda played out back stage. I had a blast 🤩Love the vlogs, please keep them coming. Love EC and U, you bring so much joy! Rock on 🤘Döp döp döp 😄
It's so fascinating how everything is so well planned (at least it seems like it is) and how everyone knows what his or her tasks are and is working together so well! And all the little details Tank puts in mind, like always asking if somebody needs some help and making sure that everyone is ok and lighting up the stairs to the stage everytime someone steps up or down. That's so thoughtful! I get that this is the job of a tour manager but I think Tank puts some extra effort in it an that's why it makes him so good at what he's doing. You all seem like one big loving family where everyone contributes his or her part and is respected and appreciated. 💓💙💛💜❤
I think Sabaton has had like 6 to 8 trucks with gear on some of the latest tours. I like this type of vlogs. I really like your videos on tour and the backstage views. It is fun to watch and learn about touring.
Thank you Tank for the new vlog. I’ve been waiting months on this keep the vlogs going and I’m really you’re doing one venue at a time and not all together 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
I've done production and load in for much smaller venues for 16 years. Never realized how incredibly busy a tour manager on a large scale tour actually gets. Tank, you handle EVERYTHING!!
I wish nothing but success for Electric Callboy. They're really good guys, plus they make people SMILE. They deserve to be huge.

Thanks Tank! Been following since ye old "reaction of Nightwish live"-days and must say, this was super interesting and a lovely watch, a virtual backstage pass! Love them callboys and good to see that they seem to be a really down to earth bunch of funny german men!😉Keep 'em coming and also, i wouldn't mind some eps where you go a little bit deeper into the workings of different live prodction aspects; like light, mixing, guitar tech and so on. Cheers! Edit: Loved the "beard view" when eating burger!! 😆
ahhh the fillmore! a guy i went to high school with works there now. shame i missed the show but would love to have you guys back, you're always welcome in DC/MD :)
13:24 It's weird what he said... The German word for wrench, what you held in your hands is "Schraubenschlüssel" (can also mean "screwdriver") or just "Schlüssel" (which also means "key"). "Knarre" you would use more like when it's hydraulic/electric/air pressured (the "gun" shaped "brrrrrt brrrrt" tools, for example to loosen your wheel bolts)... but Knarre is also some sort of slang word for "gun" in general. 😄
Yes, a normal wrench is a "Schlüssel" or "Schraubenschlüssel" in German and it's usually not called a "Knarre". A socket wrench is what is called "Knarre" instead. "Knarre" ist eigentlich ein anderes Wort für eine "Ratsche" oder professionell: "Steckschlüssel". Nothing hydraulic, electric / air pressured is supposed to be called "Knarre". That's supposed to be called a "Schlagschrauber". You call an impact driver "Knarre"?
Damn!!! It was first tour vlog that I've seen but it was an epic experience to go into backstage of such an incredible show! It was pure fun! Thanks Tank and thanks Electric Callboy ☺
The beir garten in silver spring is so good. When my sister used to live in SS she lived a block away from there so we would always go and I have a friend who works there.
This show was AMAZING. Saw them at Blue Ridge (lol) and then this and it was worth every penny. Thanks for another great vid! Can't wait to see yall on the next tour.
That show was awesome. Probably one of the best ones I've been to. Electric Callboy have such great energy and genuine positivity, and it was totally palpable in the crowd. I'll have to check out the biergarten next time I get to a show at the Fillmore. Sounds like their food is fantastic. Glad you all had an overall good experience. There definitely needs to be a return trip!🤘🎶🔥🎸🥁🎉🇩🇪🇺🇸
Good to see you again Brother. Love your channel and all that you do AND the education you provide for us in the music biz. Always fun when I click on your videos. Keep up the good work and be safe and please post another coming home to your family video once the tour ends. We love family videos as well. Thumbs Up and shared all the time. A+++++
Yeeeaaaahh Vlog-time🥳🥳🥳😊😊😊😊 Love to see this chemestry behind the show❤️❤️❤️ and how all is prepared and done Love to see the next one 😍 Greetings from Austria 🤘
The Fillmore in Silver Spring is a great venue!! Been there tons of times for many shows and the people there are always amazing, so glad you enjoyed that venue 🤘🏻👍🏻
Always good and makes me smile. Respect for the work you do on tour. Working in tv I know what its like to put on a good product that no one see the struggle. Thanks for sharing.
This was such a fun show. I planned this as my pre festival show before Sonic temple. Getting to see EC twice in a week was amazing. Easily my favorite band to see live
Thanks for sharing. Not my style music but seeing the behind the scenes is fucking awesome. I saw Ministry there twice, Social Distortion once and Hope Sandoval once. The band seems like cool dudes. I'd love to see more VLOGs like this at other venues. Tank Rocks!
Went to see Electric Callboy with my girlfriend in Czechia a couple weeks back in Masters of Rock, it was interesting how I recognized some of the crew thanks to watching these vlogs :D They put on such a terrific show, I'll definitely be going again if they come to Hungary or Austria! It was amazing to see older people come up to me after the show and telling me how they haven't heard such music but that it was amazing (I was wearing their Tekkno merch). Hope to see more vlogs like this in the future, they always bring me comfort :D
I’m glad you liked the venue. I’ve seen three shows there, and I’ve mostly enjoyed myself. That being said, it can get too crowded. Interesting facts: the venue was once a JC Penney and the town wouldn’t let them remodel the front facade.
Can't wait for "Tank's Tool Time" when he introduces tools with their English and German name - especially those slang terms like "Mottek" (Kurwa-David can help you with this one) 😉
