Why not do a segment called "youtube crap"? Where you feature videos that follow the potato salad theory. For example, one person makes a helping the homeless video and goes viral. Next thing you know everyone is making a"helping the Homeless" video. The thing about the original is that it wasn't intended to succeed but the internet loves being in on an inside joke or be part of a community so it was over-funded. I doubt the creator themselves think it's something worth all that money. Then there's those people who; just as Ian described, saw how easy Flappy Bird is to make and thought they can make money being lazy. Same with this, I doubt the creator felt comfortable to what people turned it to.
