Featuring Tony! Toni! Toné!
Kid 'n Play is an animated cartoon series based on the real-life hip-hop duo, Kid 'n Play. It ran for one season on NBC from 1990 to 1991. On the show, Kid 'n Play were portrayed as teenagers, but their recording careers remained the same as in real life, as did their character traits. Production was by Marvel Productions.
The real Kid 'n Play appeared in live-action wraparounds of the cartoons, but voice actors took over for the animated versions of the duo. The show stressed positive role models, teaching children how to get along with each other and stay out of trouble.

I just met Play like two weeks ago at my University! He's a really cool guy and very knowledgeable! He mentioned this cartoon and it made me come back to it! Hadn't watched it in years!

Grustle Media Very good episode. I liked how Play went back in to help Kid on the Pizza Job & those crooks got punished for stealing Play's music equipment. This was in 1990, the year I was born & i had no idea that Kid N Play had a Cartoon show. I'm learning more about who Kid N Play are. I don't know them that we'll musically.

The cartoon was re-released through an independent distribution company..They prob re transferred it and loss some sound quality due to it...

Since it's hard to understand everyone's voices through the loud background music, it's a relief that Martin Lawrence and Cree Summer are 2 familiar voices in this program. I think I had a cartoon crush on Lela and didn't even know it back then. I was 10-11 years old getting read to hit puberty. She was the voice of reason and was head strong. I remember there was an episode focused on her and the girls when they left Kid n Play for a NKTOB knock off group.

I watched about 3 episodes on NBC during late 1990. Quickly lost interest in it.(I'm a Kid N' Play Fan, BTW).
