Kid Rock's cover version of Hank Williams, J.R. Country Boy Can Survive. No copyright infringement intended! download: www.mediafire.com/?jjjkditmyyt...
For the record, Kid is from the midwest, like me & we are "country" among other things. He was the son of wealthy parents but he was the black sheep because he didn't fit in. Everything else can be attributed to him being a rolling stone, which is what makes him so unique! Why does everyone need to fit in a box or stereotype? I love his originality! If we were all confident enough to "be ourselves" we would all be so interesting.
YOU CAN FIND THIS SONG ON ... KID ROCK FIRE IT UP cassette...I have it...love kid rock...will always listen to RICHARD JAMES RICHIE A.K.A. KID FUCKIN ROCK..
I'm a big Hank Jr. fan but there's no doubt Kid Rock has real talent unlike a lot of modern "artists". He's got a killer voice and made the song his own instead of just trying to sound like the original. Much respect for being a cool, down to earth guy with a good taste in music
They're best buds! Love Hank Jr. and love Kid Rock. Long live the South mfs!!! I live in Georgia and fly my red white nd blue flag right beside my Rebel flag.
awsome cover....i love Kid Rock and everything he does....its pure gold...i love Hank Jr. its a tribute ppl....calm down.....screw off and go listen to your taylor swift or rodney atkins this is what country is about
iam just glad that Kid Rock...... recognized the lifestyle he was living and respected it enough 2 honer Hank with a COVER song.... of course it wont be the same as the classic song but he made it his own with all due respect 2 HANK.. If you dont like this you dont like the South.. because if you are a true SOUTHERNER... then you like classic rock and country!! AND THIS IS BOTH!!!!
Yo everyone this joint was recorded way back in 1993 when he was still livin in mt clemens. Obviously he won't sound like he does on the radio today...
If y'all know anything about music then you should know kid rock used to go to hank jr concerts when he was young. I know because my dad is the steel player for Jamey Johnson and was for hank jr 1980-1997 an the almeria club album which features kid rock on a song
Cowboy??? your dad is a legend...i love his story about the bee sting on the vinyl version of that lonesome song..saw jamey live in august your dad is a god among men...
Met your dad after a Hank Jr. concert, he probably saved us from getting busted and going to jail by having an open bottle at the Holiday Inn parking lot, he invited us on the bus while they... ( "Animal" and the bass player and driver) ...were waiting (on Hank I guess) to depature. He's a cool dude, love his style on the Steel, and he does add to Jamey Johnson a great bit
And that he he loves his place in Pike County and spends lots of time there!!! I work there on the ambo and havent got to meet him yet but several others have....Ive drove by their places many times....
You people? This is absolutely KID ROCK! and Hank Williams Jr. endorsed this & loves this version. They sang both of them together on the CMA's. This is an excellent rock/country interpretation of this song. Kid is brilliant - He is original - and he does what the world says "can't be done" & laughs all the way to the bank! Who else has made millions singing rap, rock, country, and a mix of them all? Exactly - no one - he is the original! I love him in every style!
I love this version. Its a good song with a rock type sound that takes the song to a different level. That said I still like the oringinal Hank Jr. version better. I think Kid Rock did a great job with the song though.
Kid Rock has balls. He went from rap then grew up more and is country. Hats off Brother. If you can not about what they say then me too. I can too. Our whiskey and smoke too
Nice this is off fire it up he did this back in the early-mid 90s when his music was mainly rap, guess he's had a rock/country streak in him this whole time.
of course this is Rock, and he wasnt tryna sound identical, its a tribute. with HIS spin on it. thats why he is THE MAN. and icp? those clowns, ha... no pun intended are a joke. they dont know their ass from a hole in the ground. tired of everyone buildin them up like theyre somethin.
Yes a country boy can survive, I live in the country and I love it! We can survive in the country! I have a shot gun also! Love this song 🎵 I am from Eugene Oregon Coast! 🥰❤️🥰
This man is incredible I will love him for the rest of my life and I know that at 1 point he loved me. Yes ladies he really did. He will always be my hero and he will always be my friend.
@ddi338 Buddy Yes I have! Even used one a time or two. Once even used an old horse drawn plow. I was born and raised in Eastern Kentucky. You don't get much more country than that.
I agree, Hank's version is untouchable but, got to give props for KR trying his buddies song, and it exposes the original message & song to a new audience. Just because a song is "untouchable" doesn't mean someone eventualy will make a great performance out of it... if they don't try it, we can't hear it... and this one has a message everyone needs to hear!!!
Kid Rock is the most versitile musician out there. Raps good, Rocks hard, and twangs like hank, and sing clear enough to understand what he's saying. I don't know of many musicians who can do 2 of those, let alone all 4.
love the kid glad that him and hank are the closest of friends.kid i dig youre music, dont do that agin, why every singer wants to sing hank i just cant understand, only hank can make hank sound good.jmop
ok he will never be hank but he is who he is and he will always be an "american badass" so if you dont like kidrock go listen to whatever you like and let us kidrock lovers keep on a rockin to his music! ROCK ON!!!!!!!!
@GhostOfTomJones1 i got a .40 and I dont need to wear a bullet proof vest cause i shoot first and ask questions later. Thats how a country boy survives.
@JusWrightDogs that IS Kid Rock! I know his voice like the backwoods! Just listen to his other Albums, he went from rock to country after he lost his best friend, Joe-C(ountry)
