I grew up with kids music. I was born in 94. I have every album. This Dude is a HUGE part of my life. I bump polyfuze method daily. This interview gave me goosebumps
Only just discovered Kid rock after watching the Woodstock 99 documentary on Netflix....wow...who knew I'd fall in love with rock music😂 I'm so annoyed I wasn't around in the 90s to go and watch them all! Limp bizkit too!!!!!!! Amazing bands! Most of the bands I saw on the do I now think are brilliant!!!!! MY NAME IS KID.....ITS KID BABY....KID ROCK.... banger!!!!
Dude kids performance at Woodstock was fun legendary. He had that energy of a rockstar like Elvis or Jimi Hendrix.... Every time I watch it it gives me chills... Just something about it. It's one of those moments in time that are always going to be remembered. His entrance was just amazing... "My name is kiiiiid"
I wasn't expecting his speaking voice to be so high. Gods, he's so young here. 1999 seems just light years away. Before the 9/11 attacks, even. Life was really good back then. I mean, it's good now too, but in some ways it's sadder.
It also just partially seems that way because we aged, like all those who came before us and those who’ll come after. I mean this was only a few short years after the OKC bombing supposedly ‘shattered American illusion’ of safety, but then shit was back more or less to where it was, and with us our or allies droppin’ bombs that 9/11 the shit out of places regularly, they’re just far more obscure than NYC and often in the desert…but damn, I’m gettin hella off topic here, lol. But yeah, you’re right, the world has changed a lot since ‘99, even just in terms of tech
Future American Badass!! LOL I love all his music now, who'd a thought he'd be singing Sugar Pie Honey Bunch one day? Sure has calmed down a lot at his almost 48 age. Love him, only 3 months older than me.
A kid rock this is Tonya I'm 46 I'll be 47 July 28th so yeah and I heard your good friend with joderse of Limp Biscuit he's awesome oh my gosh you like you or Cool Kid Rock keep on heavy metal Rock
If you ever get curious, look up Kid’s 2000 article with Rolling Stone. Even by then, he still has his beers occasionally, but gave up any drugs/groupies etc to focus on his son and finding a committed relationship, and basically went into how he’s just gotta keep the rest of that up in the image cos it’s the “Kid Rock thing”. Was surprised he was so honest, relatively early in his mainstream career. He even gives the keys to the ‘back of the bus’ bedroom to his lead guitarist to officially pass it on lol
At essentially every show back then, there was a point he’d stop and go, “I ain’t political, ya’ll…as political as the Kid gets is that Monica Lewinsky is a ho, and Bill is a goddamn pimp!!” which is itself a throwback for ya, the whole thing
