Back when this had originally debuted, I made a comment about how lackluster the Russian investigation was. And Colin's mother happened to be reading comments and she actually replied to me. Here's a copy/paste of what she said: "I only was allowed to see him dressed. I did not receive the autopsy photos from Russia. The cameras (and there are many) were "all not working" during the time of the disappearance. Colin's stomach and other organs were removed in their entirety in Russia and never returned. Two autopsies were performed on Colin before he left Russia. One in Arshan and one in Moscow. We have no report from the Russian autopsy done in Moscow. It took the morgue here hours to remove his heavy make up that was applied to his body and face, they called the coroner due to the amount of wounds on Colin's body. He was bound, beaten and suffocated. When I saw him in the parking lot in Arshan, after he was first found, he had marks around his nose and mouth, he had broken blood vessels over his face, he had bruising behind his ear and black eyes, and his clothes were not all of the way on, neither were his sockless feet firmly in shoes. It was incredibly warm during this time in Arshan, unseasonably so. He was found only a little over a mile away and could see the lights of Arshan from where he was found. Fortunately, a rescuer took Colin's photo and it was published in Life News the day he was found. He was moved from the spot that he was held. His necklace was not on the crime scene photos but a policeman handed it to me when I collected his personal effects. So sad that amount of victim shaming that happens with these cases. Colin never deserved that. Thank you for your interest and thoughts into Colin's case. I hope someone will remember something and tell. Animals leave a scent on their kills or scavenging sites. You’ll find saliva, fur and the body can be in pieces spread out a mile. That wasn’t done to him because A. He was alive until day 6-7. B. His body was found n day 8. Bears can eat their victims alive to keep the meat fresh and so clean. 😂
