Nice pens and set up. We are new to goats...bought 2 kiko nannies for some weed control, then a lady wanted out of goats and we got her two Nigerian Dwarf females...one nannie and her adult daughter...after that our SIL bought some property and the owner left his 3 goats - so we got a Spanish wether and two bucks Nigerian and Pygmy...so...we let the bucks in and now we have 4 pregnant goats...looking at mid to end of Feb. for kidding...nervous...the one daughter is a maiden. We found a ton of pallets for free and those will be used as sides - plywood goes along entire back and plywood on floors. Not sure on gates yet...we do plan to sell the babies as "pet" quality....will help on the feed bill here...trying to learn everything about kidding as possible. Think we have a good "kidding bag" for all that could be needed.
Hi, I love your videos! I think the way you take care of your goats is awesome. I have a question, how do you make a doe get used to get comfortable with a pen before kidding?
It seems like it's really troublesome for miara goats abroad, in Indonesia🇮🇩 it's easier because there are only 2 dry rainy seasons.. Thank you for the video🙏🙏
Pens are cleaned out daily. The old bedding gets dumped into a manure bunker where it composts for 6-9 months. We haul it away to another farm about 2x a year. We plan on making a video on all that as soon as we are ready to get the manure bunker emptied out, which needs to happen soon. Burning it doesn’t really work, it just smolders for days.
