Kidney Transplant Update (good and bad)

Hey Group, It’s been an interesting journey thus far. I know there is a transplant out there for me.... just need to find folks that follow through on the process. I'll be with one of my buddies today who had a transplant 13 years ago. Still doing great at 66 years of age, I know you will too! We will continue praying for you brother Bob!

My wife’s aunt had a kidney transplant 40 years ago and is still doing great! You will do great also! Praying for you brother!

I know you've got a lot on your mind, but what about doing some more story telling videos. What kind of stories? Anything you want to tell and not be lost. You have more experience in your little finger than many of us, in our whole life time. Many of us live in the city with 9-5 office jobs. Your life is so different from ours that watching you set snake traps around your house was interesting. When we say we'll watch anything you put out, we mean it! I'm sorry it didn't work out yet for Derrick, but it's probably a blessing in disguise for him. If he didn't go through with trying to help you, he might have had issues later on down the road and he wouldn't have known about it. Stay strong, Bob! We love ya!

Thanks for this update. I just found it. You were on my mind...I had seen your video when you initially shared your health update. Will be praying for you. I had a kidney transplant 16 years ago today. I had a living donor and it is the most incredible sacrificial gift a person can give. It's a process that will not happen on your timetable. When my kidneys failed, it was from a rare autoimmune disease, and it happened quickly. It was a crash that almost finished me off. I wanted it all 'over' NOW! That did not happen. You pick yourself up and keep your days 'tight'. One day at a time. We have no guarantee of tomorrow. And when the time was right, the Lord opened that door, and as quickly as it got bad, it got good. Getting a transplant is another HUGE learning curve, but so worth it. Some choose to not take that step. I was glad I was able to do so. I am forever grateful to my donor. Our paths don't cross anymore, by her choice, but I pray for her every day and ask the Lord to bless her for the gift she was willing to give. Hang in there. God's got a plan. May He continue to bless you and keep you safe during this season of your life. A new season awaits, and it will be good. There will be new challenges, but again, so worth it. I never take this kidney for granted and do my best to be a good steward of this gift. It was, and still is, very humbling. When you get back something you've lost, you are never the same, and you never look at things the same again. A new level of gratitude grows out of hardship. All the best to you. God bless.

I had a transplant in 2018, I know you are struggling. The dialysis, weakness, uncertainty. A wonderful person decided to donate a kidney to me, it was an unconditional act of love that I will never forget. That said, you need to get listed on the transplant list every where you can. A cadaver kidney will come your way, it just takes a little time. Stay strong and don't give up.

As one of the many people that have learned so much from you, I wish my O - blood would allow me to donate a kidney. I wouldn't think twice about sharing a part of me with you. You are an amazing person, it's so easy to see the good in your heart and soul, and the way you open them up to share with so many people. Do me a favor Bob....stop watching the sunsets and start watching the sunrise every morning. When the sunrises it's the beginning of a new day, anything can happen. Hang in there, dude. I know it’s hard. I had a liver transplant back in the summer of 2020 and had acute kidney failure and was on dialysis for 7 months after. It sucks but it’s so worth it! Methodist is an amazing hospital! If this South Texas kid can do it you can too! Just stay positive!

I just got on the transplant list, I have been at stage 5 for an incredible 12 years! What kept me from needing dialysis sooner(started last week on dialysis) was something a Doc prescribed me in 2010, simple baking soda! Before I started on the baking soda my blood counts were all over the place, I urge you to start this today! I currently take a full table spoon of baking soda & 14 oz of water nightly. Anyone trying this start off slow, maybe a 1/2 of a teaspoon & work your way up. All my docs are amazed that my phosphors, sodium counts etc.. are normal! The only thing off is my GFR counts, I stayed at 8% kidney function for 12 years! Baking soda & a lot of prayers has sustained me! I'll add you to my prayer list! God bless

Bob, I was raised on BTSR as a young scout, and eventually an eagle scout, and a scouting leader, and then on to being a soldier. That place is powerful in terms of healing energy, and the life lessons throughout history. Please know that my prayers are with you, and to your healing, and there be peace, and blessings in your life. I know for fact, from many decades of experience, that it's not an easy path in which you are traveling now. I learned many times that being in the woods can help build strong faith, and I've also learned that strong faith CAN move mountains. Bob, I also am facing kidney failure in the near future. (Born with only 1 kidney). But I have decided no dialysis or transplant. At my age I am just going to let nature take its course. There are people out there that need kidneys worse than I do, and I would not want to deny one of them from getting one to save their life. You are very much younger than I am, so please keep trying to find the transplant. Your skills and attitude are badly needed in the world.

I'm praying for you Brother

It’s pretty much expected, that only a small percentage of those that voice their support, will actually be able to follow through with it. Reality checks are real, for sure. I’ve been dealing with kidney disease/cancer for several years now. I’ve only got 1/2 kidney left and have dropped from stage 4 to stage 3. At my age, I doubt I’d get a transplant, but with all the prayer warriors out there, my kid(ney) is holding on. So since I can’t offer one to you, what I will do is become a prayer warrior for you. There’s something called A NEAD chain. It’s when incompatible donors can donate their kidney for someone like you that can get a compatible kidney from someone else. I know I heard of something like this if this isn’t the one. But I’d be willing to. If you’re already a part of something like this, let me know. I don’t even know my blood type and I’m sixty. But if I can help I’m willing. I’ll be praying for you Bob.

I have a gastrointestinal condition that causes my esophagus to shrink and a hiatel hernia that is pushing my stomach and diaphragm into my chest Iv had 21 surgeries I'm 15.. Somehow this whole thing missed me, I didn't realize. I have kidney problems too, not as bad, but wow. I'm contacting prayer warriors for you, because you're a good guy. Praying for the best for you, that a brave compatible donor comes forward. We've got 2 for a reason, people; we only need one. One of my uncles donated his spare to his 8 year old son long time ago, decades, and it's still going strong and so is he. I hope the same will be true for you when you find your donor.
