oh god yes, nothing but cheezy villain dialogue, turned up to 11 on all lines, so much makeup fx no one knows it's you... if that's not good fun idk what is. imagine them shooting a sontaran episode and behind the scenes, in between shots you just see an entire contingent of sontaran warriors doing marching drills down a major street to screw with people. SONTAR, HA! SONTAR, HA! SONTAR, HA! STOP THERE, PUNY EARTHCREATURE!
+The Tardis Pony yes they schould that would be fun liek the potato headed lizzardy humanoidy series all about lizzard peeps potato headed peeps and humans that dont faint when seeing potato heads and lizard peeps
+RoniusMaxed okey i will try to do that PPSST did you noticed that he does not have eyelashes so he does not have to close and open his eyes:D:P get rekt by a potato head
+micahve he does have eyelashes its just hard to see and that doesn't mean that your eyes blink to keep water on them so they don't dry out eyelashes just stop things from getting into your eyes
The more you think about it, the more you realize that there's a major story, here. How *did* a Sontaran, one of The Doctor's worst foes, wind up as a trusted ally? Indebted to him, in fact. Did Strax demonstrate the advanced traits of mercy and compassion, and for that was deemed 'defective' by his own? Was he ostracised by his own kind for that 'failing'? An untold story awaits telling...
Strax does great stand up. He should have his own talk show and if a guest insults HIS audience, he can (right there) crush them to a pulp. Brilliant act-ing as usual from Dan 'the potatoe' Starkey. (or as i like to refer to him as "Pod-A Commentator" (note the Qualian 'e' in potato). -r. technically of course he's Pod-A.046368 Commentator -- but, i think we should allow him a bit of lee-way in his "stage name", eh.
I was watching this when my dad walked in and saw me laughing so hard my stomach hurt and looked at me confused which only made me laugh harder. And I'm still laughing to myself as I'm typing this. Strax is so funny!
Straxx is AWESOME...and dumb as a post! He's also ridiculous due to him THINKING in ABSOLUTE military terms. But he does have a good sence of humour. :"Good night...MISTER Holmes...." AAH,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha ANNND HAA!!
I love his answer to the second question. I thought he would play it sad or angry, but instead he went back to Staal's line "Words are the weapons of womenfolk." I'd forgotten it until now, wasn't expecting that. Well done, mate.
Not to mention, that was amazing improv -- being able to make up in-character responses on the fly to kid's questions. Especially the Weeping angel one. "I'd stare it out" -- priceless!
Me too. Till i watched a tv prog being filmed in LA. Took 2 hrs to set up a scene where 2 police officers walked out of a bldg and got into a car. No wonder so many use drugs!?
1:20 Strax: "The last time a Human called me "Potato Head"... I simply turned and walked away calm and collected. ONCE I CRUSHED HIM INTO A PULP WITH MY MUSLED FISTS!!!" (LOL)
+Sunneva Þórðardóttir well he is like The Doctor: What are you doing here? Strax: Madam Vastra was wondering if you needed any grenades. The Doctor: Grenades? Strax: [thinking] She might have said help. Strax: I suggest a full-frontal assault with automated laser monkeys, scalpel mines and acid. Commander Strax: It's strange. I have often dreamed of dying in combat. I'm not enjoying it as much as I'd hoped. Commander Strax: [the TARDIS has landed nearby] I hope someday to meet you in glory of battle where I will crush the life from your worthless human form. Try and get some rest. Strax: If this weak and fleshy boy is to represent us, I strongly advise the issuing of scissor grenades, limbo vapor and triple blast brain-splitters. Madame Vastra: What for? Strax: Just generally. Remember, we are going to the North. if we ever have a alian invasion remember i call him just for fun and to have some acid and granede competions and general fun stuffs and we can laugh about his potato head but if we call him potato head and you agree you can call him potato head then you should also agree that you can say that to other peeps as well like hahah you have glasses and so on and tahts not nice so dont try to do that okey?
That makeup is really impressive. He gets a lot of range of expression out of it, and it looks seamless. Also, he's moving around in the real world without takes to correct errors.
Q: I can't help but notice you're wearing gloves. Is there a memory worm that you're afraid of touching? A: This is the fifth time you personally have asked me that question.
The Experience itself is a walk-in interactive exhibition, featuring recorded messages from Matt Smith himself, and appearances from Daleks and Weeping Angels to drop some names. After the adventure there is an exhibit featuring past Doctor Who enemies, costumes and making-of videos. Strax was a bonus during the Monster's Day Out event.
Well, it IS designed for an older audience. You said it yourself, it's quite complicated and occasionally dark. But kids can understand a lot of stuff and don't mind being scared from time to time, and the show still has enough qualities like good acting or diverse humor to appeal to a wider audience. And when a work reaches people it wasn't even aimed at, THAT's a proof of how good it is. The same could be said about MLP or Pokémon, by that matter.
Strax made this years series of Dr Who I hope he returns for the 50th anniversary but, if not then at least for Series 8!! Strax is truly the best sontaran in the Universe Sontar Ha!
Yeah I think it would and also maybe look like strax, but it's hard to tell when no one has really turned into an angle besides on the episode when they go into the cave of weeping angles, and even then it's hard to tell if we saw the soldiers who died.
I'm confident that with the war like might of the Sontarian Empire, that the Angel would turn into a Sontaran, knowing who the superior species truly happens to stand. The Angel will know true glory and know it has so far to go up to become true greatness and a true warrior!
ooohh noo he crushed me while i subscribed i am laying in hosptitol right now with 100 bone fractures and severe blood lose and i am in need of 5 new organs and i am in need of the doctor right now help me:D:P
Jenny, Strax and Madame Vastra with their own spinoff, it can be called "The Paternoster Gang Adventures" as a reference and tribute to Elisabeth Sladen and her amazing spinoff "The Sarah Jane Adventures" which I grew up watching. RIP.
I mean, he’s not wrong. He (and, presumably, his clone batch) is certainly more handsome than Linx (the first Sontaran to appear in a _Doctor Who_ TV episode). And staring out a Weeping Angel is a pretty good strategy, if you can do it for long periods of time.
This... This right here is why I adore this fandom... We can have fun and make jokes. We don't always have to be the "serious" lot even though the show has often been a "serious" show
Never be offended by being called a potato. Potatoes are lovely. Especially with butter and gravy. Oh, and little bits of bacon or other assorted meats.
I remember when Sontarans first appeared on Doctor Who, it was set in medieval times with knights in armour. at first we only saw the Sontaran in his space suit with domed helmet, in the last scene of the first episode he removed the helmet revealing that his head was the same shape. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FOkmrM-Bq4s.html
