Every adult in the school is an authority figure, even if they’re not a teacher.

Too many adults are unfit to serve in the positions of authority they’ve been granted, while demanding respect they haven’t earned.

Refreshing to see a clear, unapologetic defense of adult authority. Sorely needed in schools

Well Ms. +Polly Bath , I agree about authority but haven't you ever heard the term hypocrite ? It's " a person who acts in contradiction to his or her stated beliefs or feelings ". Here you are the teacher telling your students to do what you feel or believe that they should be doing and be quiet in the halls but you the teacher get to act in contradiction to that and make your noise in the halls and get another teacher making their own noise in the halls especially in a time when most fair and honest teachers take time modeling with their students on how they want them walking in the hallway to inspire and instill that structure within their children and to motivate the children to follow rules . Back when I was an autistic student in school most of My Teachers got put down by me on occasion for having me doing some things that I was not accustomed to do or wired to do or aligned with doing but NEVER for being unfair or even a hypocrite to me or any of my classmates and I said that to say this . What you the teacher is going to wind up doing is A . indirectly inspire the students to not follow the rules , B . inspire the students to turn around and say I will be happy when it is summer or when I grow up and get rid of my prison warden teacher and my prison school so that I can do what I want when I want where I want and how I want and it's my own business because I finally get to experience life in a free country and not a slave country . Because prison is where hypocrisy and unfairness lives in an institution that says that they are part of the department of corrections and here you are trying to inspire teachers to have students live through a lite version of that in an educational institution every weekday where they are made to be by law.
