Man, at 0:30 you can almost feel the stifling heat in the air as they enter the barracks. This movie has great acting but the cinematography deserves some recognition as well.

With hindsight, when she asks, "Are you planning on doing any investigating, or..?" He could have just said, "I found out all I needed to know in that wardrobe." I love this film.

Detecting lies and deception means spotting inconsistencies. In real life, most likely won't get a confession. I wonder if that inconsistency along with the logical conundrum of "why would he need to be transferred?" would have been enough for a jury without a confession.

I wish they made a sequel of Kendrick and Jessup's trial, and their attorney is - drum roll - Caffee! The big dramatic climax in this trail is when Caffee is cross-examining that incompetent doctor who said Santiago was perfectly healthy, and when Caffee demands to know whether the doctor made up the bit about a poisoned rag in order to cover his own behind, the doctor blurts out 'You're GD right I did!'

Kiefer Sutherland stole this movie with his performance. His commitment to the Marine Corps was unquestioned, and his character was scary as hell--because a great actor played the role. There were many good performances in this movie, but KS blew the others away.

Kinda funny that Kiefer, Cruise, and Pollack are all short so the scene of them walking down the hall didn't require the usual gimmicks that Cruise & Kiefer frequently need in scenes that they don't want to look shorter than the other actors in a scene.

Sigh they’ve been making Christians out to be the bad guys for decades. It would have been nice if on occasion characters like Tom Cruise‘s character was Christian and stood up for Jesus
@nickhershey3358
@nickhershey3358 Год назад
The film was directed by the guy who was opposite of Archie Bunker. What you said makes sense (a stereotype) considering the character in that show, an atheist socialist at odds with Bunker, a working class, traditional family patriarch, American Patriot Christian. But at the least the film does a very good job at defending those that would often be demonized and cast aside as a "bully beating up a weakling." It takes a lot of wisdom to see people in complex ways, both heroic, sympathetic and flawed. The film Falling Down did a great job with that as well.
