That's even better than the original performance of this song, it's sort of more emotional, passionate and with more acute feelings, with a lot of artistic value, and Kiesza's facial expressions are priceless too. Such an existential and psychological performance. Not to mention that poweful voice. In my opinion, that is simply a masterpice, can't stop listening. Absolutely beautiful! Incredible!
I think everyone needs to view/listen to this as a COVER, like it is stated. When people do covers, they add their own swing to it, not necessarily trying to imitate the original tone by tone or whatever (I don't sing haha). I think Kiesza did this wonderfully, perfectly depicting her own style with the great Naughty Boy song.
I can definitely respect that she put her own swing and quite honestly she got most of the people who try to do a Sam Smith song beat. I do however, come into BBC1 hoping but not expecting for a cover that adds interesting twist but remain that's just as good, or lord forbid take it to the next level. Think about it a next level Sam Smith o_0! It didn't flop quite as hard as the Ed Sheeran cover of Stay with Me, quite wonderful actually like you said, but a definite notch down from the original for me.
megslu your RIGHT! All these losers complaining have no clue.but there all just opinions ,I thought she did Great ! 🎙with a voice like hers anything she does is Fire .👌
i loved it. her voice is so amazing. she is one of the few singers that can it those really high notes. amazing. dont read the comments before listening..
Andrew Kim Just because people are saying they don't like it, it doesn't mean they are showing hate or, like the lights behind her, 'green with envy'. People can give constructive criticism and have an opinion on something without feeling hate. Showing hate would be people writing things like "oh listen to this sack of shit cat being dragged backwards through a hedge" "listen to her trying to hit the high notes she sounds like a cunt" Those would be words of hate.
I absolutely love this cover, the backing vocals are first to captivate me then Kiesza nails it and in my opinion its better than the original. One backing vocal seems to get more camera time than the other, you can tell from her face that music is very important to her, she's totally lost in the music.
BBC Radio 1 gives us an opportunity to see artists perform live and cover other songs. I don't really know Kiesza except her successful single but I can definitely say that she can sing. Enjoy the music people!
Nord Stage 2 and Korg Kronos.. my dreams' keyboards..together..I'm speechless.. I think I'll steal them. P.S. Really nice version (even though Ain't no sunshine left me a little bit confused ahahah) ;) I think Kiesza have a beatiful voice and an incredible extension.. It's a pity that she's not really known here (I'm Italian)
