Whisky.com reviews the Kilchoman Sanaig. Kilchoman Sanaig is named after the bay Sanaigmore on the island of Islay. Originally, the first, limited bottling of Sanaig consisted of bourbon casks and a part sherry casks. Now the cask composition has been changed somewhat and the majority of the single malt matures in sherry casks, mainly Oloroso.

Thanks for the review. I ran across this in a Southern Minnesota (USA) liquor store for $75 and thought it sounded interesting but passed as I was unfamiliar with it. Sounds like it's worth a try. Thanks again!

It can be quite enraging being a scotch admirer in Canada, I was shocked to hear the price you pay for it in Germany. Here I payed $116 (around twice what you payed). Thanks to the government for that wonderful markup... i wish i could say i they spend that money wisely...

Yeah this is one whisky that has huge variations from batch to batch. Like ol' forrest gump would say "buy some Kilchoman sanaig, you never know what you're gonna get huh huh huh" 😂

It's produced in relatively small batches so the taste can change over time.

I love it,but it has a strange kind of smoke . You can easy tell its a Kilchoman. The smell reminds me of wet rubberboots at a campfire . Almost wet socks :-)

It's got that sort of trailer park campfire smell hasn't it? 😂 Interesting dram for sure. Have you tried Ledaig 18? Different type of Islay dram, but wow it will blow your socks off. So tasty
