What’s the movie Kill Bill: Volume 1 about?
Four years after taking a bullet in the head at her own wedding, The Bride (Uma Thurman) emerges from a coma and decides it's time for payback... with a vengeance. Having been gunned down by her former boss Bill and his deadly squad of international assassins, it's a kill-or-be-killed fight she didn't start, but is determined to finish.
After awakening from her coma and discovering with horror that she lost her child, the Bride starts to plan her revenge, by choosing O-Ren Ishii (Lucy Liu) as her first target. It's funny how in less than one minute, there was major foreshadowing of what was going to happen. There was the "Kaboom!", but also Vernita was killed by an edge weapon.

I love how the evil characters are human after all. She gives her coffee and says she wishes it never happened. O-ren apologised to her in the middle of battle. Bud says she deserves her revenge. Thats a brilliant small addition to each character that makes the movie much more impactful

That's kind of funny. I'm not sure if you're familiar with The Sandman graphic novels by Neil Gaiman, but in the one titled "A Doll's House" there's a whole scene that takes place at a hotel during a "Cereal Convention", which of course in reality it's a convention of serial killers.

my take: aiming from inside a cereal box is more difficult since you don't see where the gun is actually pointing; so that's why she misses. also I guess the gun had only one bullet, or that it was a single action gun. it would make sense

“When you grow up… if you still feel raw about it… I’ll be waiting.” That line, right there, should be the premise for the sequel. Nikkia, as an adult, wants to get revenge against The Bride for murdering her mother. Having started training to fight she could come across, or be discovered by, a now blind Elle (who survived being blinded and stuck in the trailer with the black mamba in Volume 2) who trains her to get her revenge while subtly stoking her hatred against Beatrix, using Nikkia as a proxy for her own hatred and bitterness. Not sure how I’d end it, though, like whether Nikkia would kill Beatrix or not. My gut says she should beat her but not kill her, ending the cycle of bloodshed and murder. Ehh… who knows?

When your an assassin you deserve any death you get it comes with the territory but I also feel that way about the Bride. Sure they tried to kill her at her wedding but she chose to be an assassin. She knew what it was like and what they were about. If that kid ever did decide to get revenge on her the Bride would deserve it just as much.

Tbh there's a certain moral difference in being killed by a person whose mother you killed, or by a person who "loves you" and who you love, who works on the same field as you, together with everyone you know and respect and have gone trough many events with. At the happiest moment of your life. One could argue that the latter is worse, and not deserved even if you are a killer. Do you deserve to die? Life for life, sure. Do you deserve to die like that? Hell no.

My guess is a combination of concern for her child just in the next room, the adrenaline and the fact that she wasn't holding her firearm properly. It was concealed within a larger container which means even if she had a good target, her aim wouldn't be all that perfect if she could have both hands on the weapon and could see through her peripheral where her firearm was aimed towards, as we use a lot more of our senses with depth perception when aiming a gun. The sudden spin-around, to it being held inside the box along with improper grip and probably the fact that she's never attempted to aim or fire a weapon in such a way before, made the shot pretty damn impossible first try.

I actually genuinely wonder what the daughter thought of what her mother did to Beatrice. I almost low-key feel she wouldn't seek out revenge cause she'd be dealing with the trauma of finding out who her mother was and the horrible things she had done to people. But then I guess that trauma would make her go mad and then she would seek revenge anyway.

Beatrix's final sentence takes on a different meaning in french. She doesn't say "I'll be waiting", but "Tu me trouveras" ("You will find me"). I had never noticed the difference (yet I know both versions, original and french). In english, it emphasizes Beatrix: she knows that Nikki will definitely want to kill her, so she will wait for this moment. In the french translation, it emphasizes Nikki herself: if she really wants to, nothing will stop her from finding Beatrix.

If tarantino does ever make a sequel from the pov of Green’s daughter like he’s said, then i hope she’s a cop and it’s her investigating her mom’s cold case, rather than her somehow being trained as an assassin without her mom or her mom’s associates being alive to indoctrinate her into that life. She could go abt it without killing anyone, like Batman or some shit, to show how she’s not a monster, and give us a totally different story of revenge than Kiddo’s, as Green’s daughter stops the cycle of destruction and just pursues arresting Kiddo.

All the justification a kid needs to get revenge is "He was My father/ mother, etc" is not that hard to figure it out.
