This stuff really works! Fast! In this video I use an ortho dial n spray to apply Moss Out to my lawn.
I have a really shady backyard that stays damp over winter. This is ideal conditions for moss. I also did a ph test last season and do need to apply lime to reduce the acidity. This will happen soon.

I just used it on my mossy lawn. The recommendation on the bottle is 1/2 pint per 3 gallons, or 8 oz per 3 gallons. The ortho sprayer dial is calibrated to whatever is on the dial per gallon. This would equate to 2.67 oz per gallon, I used 2.5 oz per gallon and it worked well for me. You might want to dial it back as you are using 3x the amount you need (per the directions).

The Moss Out jug state to use 8oz with 3 gallons of water, but you are filling your Dial and Spray to 32oz and using 8oz on the dial. Isn't that really using 8oz to 1/2 gallon of water? It would be more helpful if Lily Miller gave hose end sprayer settings.

I agree it would be nice if those settings were on there! I applied the right amount of product to the square ft covered but did it on too high of setting on the dial and spray which means it was not mixed with enough water. It worked fine though! mbaillie9619's comment makes a lot of sense recommending a 2.5 oz setting on the dial and spray. That's what I plan to do this fall before overseeding. It's a great product that really works on the moss!

@@lanieroutside Ortho got back to me and confirmed that the setting equivalent for 8oz to 3gal water should be 2.67 or between 2 and 3 ounces on the diial.

Great vid! And I assume this stuff is safe to spray on Bermuda? And I assume it would be better to spray it now while temps are low to moderate?

Thanks! I sprayed a small mossy area of my dormant bermuda (didn't show that on the video) It is mostly iron and this is a great time to spray because the moss is very active coming out of the winter. I go this product at Home Depot. Good luck and thanks for watching.

I need to do an update but haven’t worked on the backyard any! Originally I planned to do some spring seeding but decided to wait until fall since spring seeding of cool season grass doesn’t do that well in our hot Georgia Summers. It is still dead though which is good!

I did but I had moss through my entire back lawn. You could spot spray with this or treat just the mossy sections also if your problem is isolated to certain areas.

I suggest to anyone who isn’t a lazy @$$,.., to rent a power rake… and REALLY remove the moss properly. Then add this on top after , once you’ve removed all the moss after by manually raking it all up

@@ZuffaLtdDanaWhite how did it work out, did the moss grow back for you? I have a bad moss problem and plan to do iron + power rake. not sure if I should iron first then rake it up or rake then iron.
