KILL TEAM: ASHES OF FAITH got me hyped

Hey man, great to see you posting again. Ashes of Faith looks like fun to me and suits my own narrative wishes. Just hope i manage to snag a box here Down Under.

It almost feels like the accursed cultists were made for this box and then added to 40k a year ahead of time.

I was moderately intrested but totally got pumped when new aeldari forces were mentioned I just hope it is craftworld and not a different faction

Finallyyy an inqusition force that is also themed to "force" cooperation with other imperial units. It is so fluffy. Also I mean I really love that you are using the inquisition team to just proxy the profiles (or you could just use the box models.) but half the fun of the old demonhunters/inqusition codex was the kitbashing the specialists :D It just made me think about the old warhammer times with chapter approved and reading the demonhunter codex and then kitbashing all my operatives. So pumped!

Striking Scorpions or Exodites as the Eldar kill team would be SO SICK. I'm also surprisingly excited for that Warhammer Heroes team, Justinian or whatever. 7 models, pick 6, no loadout confusion, just pick up and go? That sounds perfect for a brand new player. I'll be picking up a whole box of those and the extra models I end up with will slot into one of my space marine armies just fine, or get used as a painting project or sold. It's the perfect team to pull out when a friend comes over and wants to try the game for the first time. Love it. The narrative thing though? That's been the weakest part of the game up to this point, but I *am* curious to see how the cultists/inquisition work in matched play, so that might change my mind.

Ashes of Faith absolutely fits my play style. Very happy. Gallowfall? Yes, I’ll probably get it. But if it turns out to be another short run, and hard to find, I won’t lose any sleep over it.

For what's in the box, Ashes of faith is an amazing deal. I don't know if I will get it or not, but if you've got a buddy to split it with, this box looks stellar by comparison to a LOT of other box sets.

My only gripe about the Inquisition Retinue is that there are 7 models on that team, but there are 11 build options. You absolutely have to buy a second box for them & that’s always frustrating.

Sorry to be a *_Debby-Downer,_* but reality is: 5 of the 6 Kits* shown in the GW WHF Video are *_previously Released Kits._* (* EXISTING Kits in Box: Sister of Silence, Tempestous Guardsmen, Chaos Cultists, Chaos Cultist HQ, Chaos Cultist Possessed. The *_only_* new Kit is the INQUISITION Model Kit (!) Can you say: 💰🤚*Ca$h Grab (?)💰🖐

Thank you for this optimistic video about the new Kill Team: Ashes of Faith boxed set. I've watched all the videos I can find featuring people's reactions to GW's announcement of this new box. And I have to report that nearly all of them feature phantom fears that assume the worst all the way to outright "the sky is falling" alarm-ism. First off, let me congratulate you on recognizing that this new boxed set doesn't force you to buy any plastic terrain that folks either already have or don't want. I've been listening to people complain for months and months that they are being forced to pay for more Gallowdark terrain or that they don't think the Moroch terrain is "suited for Kill Team." Now that GW releases a boxed set that just contains two kill teams with loads of plastic models and new rules, suddenly no remembers all their previous complaining about the terrain in Kill Team boxes. You mention being concerned that maybe the two kill teams in this new "narrative expansion" won't be balanced for matched play. Only time will tell, but my guess is the GW has balanced both teams like they would any other. The narrative aspect of the boxed set is probably a wholly optional system, which may flop altogether. It is my understanding that the Kill Team: Rogue Trader boxed set from last edition was meant to be the first of a series of narrative themed boxed sets each with new kill teams. Apparently low sales numbers made GW abandon that plan. Though I think that GW would very much like to use Kill Team as a vehicle to introduce the fun, engaging, and yes addicting aspect of narrative gaming into the GW Hobby at large. I only hope the system will be good, it seems like it might be based on the decks of cards we've seen in the preview. That makes sense to me, in ages past GW would have just sold a book featuring new options for how to play a popular game. Nowadays, I think GW would rather sell you multiple decks of cards which in the end add up to more sales than what one book would garner. What do I think about the new Ashes of Faith box? I'm very excited about of the new teams. I've wanted to play an all Chaos Cultist kill team since day one. Not a kill team that includes chaos cultists but forces you to take chaos space marines, chaos space marines that are the only models that can reliably hurt the enemy and take damage. This new Chaos Cultist faction looks very exciting. And for folks not wanting to buy this big box, you can pretty much convert and kitbash a Chaos Cultist kill team if you have most any unused human sprues laying around: 40K guard, cultists, or genestealers; any Necromunda gang; your favorite Warcry warband, Blood Bowl minis, Warhammer Underworlds, and yes even 3rd party miniatures! Remember, you only need to make 20 or so new miniatures, that could be a single 40K squad for many factions. I've heard a lot of people saying that they find the new Inquisition models to kind of bland or lacking somehow. I can see this, but isn't a deal breaker for me. They new Inquisition miniatures are just fodder for fantastic conversions I will devise. Why are people playing Kill Team with bog standard unconverted miniatures? You don't have to be a hobby guru to kitbash and convert a dozen or so miniatures. (If you haven't tried it, give it a shot, you may find it becomes one of your favorite parts of the hobby.) I'm a bit leery that the new Inquisition kill team, given the many options it has, will be easy to balance. But I'm willing to be optimistic until we find out. The addition of the allies to the Inquisition kill team is a bit surprising to me, especially given that you can choose from six different factions for your allies. As with the Chaos Cultist kill team, the Inquisition kill team offers tremendous opportunities for customization and kitbashing. I plan to make one of each team just for all the creative modelling possibilities, I don't care if the teams are good on the tabletop or not. The Rule of Cool is always the way to go.

Thanks for another vid. Expected positivity and appreciated getting it. (If all boxes come with terrain then people complain, now if one doesn't - more complaints! And there are matched play rules... so why begrudge the narrative _option_ !?)

Other than line of sight, I feel the biggest problem with kill team has been is fairly undercooked narrative element. Having a full on campaign system will be excellent.

I would describe myself as neutral on the ashes of faith box. It’s a nice bonus as you say, but it doesn’t Jimmy my jams so I’m happy to enjoy the purchasing break till season 3 starts (as I’m skipping gallowfall too). For context, i love the look of all the minis and everything, but I’ve got a backlog of 2.5 KTs to do as it is, buying more doesn’t solve anything and if I’m not super hyped then I think it’s totally legit to say “no thanks”

I'm not overly excited about the expansion (my wallet is excited about that) but I can't wait to get my hands on the Inquisition rules. We need to have an Inquisition kill team challenge because I am so hyped to get kitbashing.

Ive been waiting since the daemon hunters codex for models like this but the amounts of tozic positivity infesting the hobby currently/the last few years has sucked all my give a fuck away tbh

not excited. not a fan of *yet more* human/imperium teams. Also not really a fan of narrative just because of the campaign rules and the commitment to a campaign. really wish they'd leaned into the nid v terminator 10th reveal for KT as wellh

As GHD said - the models aren’t super wow to many. I’m in that group - the models are oozing with detail, yet they’re … human. I mean, if I’m going to spend time with all that detail - may as well do it with a model that is a big deal character or something.
