Woah! Crazy to see this in my feed, Dakotah held my 2nd ever tournament experience, and the 1st kill team tournament I played in. Absolutely delighted to see a channel for Squad Games
Both decide at the same time for fighting for rerolls. You can decide after each roll of you want to reroll another issued die or if you have relentless. Come on Dakotah ☺️
I dont play enough to remember everything without the book . I onnly remember like 95% of the game all day er day, also I will blame my forgetting on a 6 hour hobby day before having to fight Jimmy..... That's the excuse I'll go with
Great video. I really like the overview of the deployment and strategy in this one. Great addition! I loved G's reaction to the Cell proxies. I didn't think Jimmy had that much of a reach advantage.... No wonder he ended up winning.
I wouldn't call them proxies, really, just alternative models, with WYSIWYG easily as viable as the ones from the KT box. Proxies for me would be something like "this WFB skink with no arms is the plasma gunner, this empty base is the sergeant and this Shrek figurine is my sniper".
The guard played too safe and paid the price :(, but this was a very interesting game for real. I have both teams and play them regularly(but the phobos are my favourite)... in close quarters (only when playing loot though)I`d say its 60% - 40% in favour of the marines, and in open it`s the other way around(again playing loot) The free map action from vanguard allows for some increibly annoying door plays and in the face of the enemy loot actions. As a guard player you need to make sure that your first turn is spent with a GA 2 > open the door and the second guy runs to a point a loots it, you have to remember that you will go IN TO THE BREACH >> and maybe also rarely (depending on the map because itb only works when the unit is in the deploy zone) select RECON as scouting, with the order GOGOGO you have an effective reach of 3 + 7 + 3 , while phobos can have 4(grav chute)+3(recon)+7(vanguard)+3(dash) with a free mission action to go through a gate. In order to avoid getting cockblocked, you need your GA2s in both flanks... if you lose scouting and start second you do the GA2 in the opossite side where the enemy hasnt advanced yet. Another thing to remember is to NOT PLACE YOUR MELTA SAFELY. Both him and the demolition must be actively threatening and stressing the elite player out, from turn 1... Anyway, what a trip this match was. The emperor did in fact protect a lot.
Interesting points, Dakotah does not normally play passively but if he had moved up more aggressively I could have punished him. He is the best vet guard player I’ve seen and he has the wins to back it up. He did say he would make some key changes if we had a rematch. I think you’re right the marines have the advantage in this game but prior no one thought i could win it. Had to show them that Phobos had legs.
@@JimmyK53 You both played great, I just happen to know this matchup (and map and mission because I play it regularly as Phobos and I find it slightly in my favour IF THE EMPEROR PROTECTS) and of course he is probably miles better than me with the guard. Its just that when he said "i´m not going to maximize my secondaries" I think he was glimpsing in to the future. Just a tiiiiiiiiiiny more aggression and maybe he could have left with the W. Congrats on your first game with the faction, though, I love Phobos.
Hey Thanks for the BR, Really loved everything but I had one question that I saw in the video: At 1:01:43 Dakotah says that he's having central control but he's measuring from a different point than the central control, besides, ITD specifies that you cannot those distances between walls is this correct? Thanks for the content!
