This videogame is simply amazing .... one of the best OST that i've heard ... awesome graphics ... incredible combos ... playability never seen before ... A REAL CLASSIC !!!
oh yeah. back when i was a kid this game was hyped as fuck all over the magazines, and we couldn't get enough of it. and even more so when the SNES home port came out, there were people submitting Ultras every month for quite a while. i could never pull them off back in the day (which is one of the things for which i love the new one: the system is more novice-friendly so even a noob like me - most i got was 70 hits - can pull an Ultra) but i still enjoyed the hell out of this game. :)
@@AliAbdullah-oi3wc They were referring to it being on the N64, "Ultra 64" was the original name of the console. but it didn't end up releasing it until 1996, by that time KI2 was already out, so the N64 got a version of that instead.
Orchid had to be my favorite character back in the day cuz she could bust the stupid dope moves. Plus she flashes fools and the beauty kills em. Priceless
LOVED this game when I was younger. First time I saw it in the arcade it blew everything else out of the water. The graphics and sound (which seemed to be 10 DB louder than anything else), were and to me still are amazing.
I've had the KI 1 and KI2 emulators for nearly 6 years and they are great fun. They really are not large games when it comes to memory size- just really well designed. The interesting thing is because computers run so much faster these days - the game can move at nearly4x's the speed of the original if you don't look in the refresh rate.
You have an eye for details. Yes, this game had FANTASTIC particle effects when it first came out. It blew all other fighters to pieces. Even cooler are the smaller details like the mist surrounding Glacius, the flames emanating off Cinder and the glowing sun and rushing skies of Chief Thunder's canyon stage. Rare's attention to detail on KI (and other games of the time) was astounding. I just don't have that same feeling when I saw the new KI trailer :-/
it's just the speed enders (hold and release moves) and some special attacks H3,CB,F+R3 and H2,QCDB+R2. Once you do a combo breaker they will have shadows, and even the Ultra if you play the 1.5d version.
it's played on emulator called mame32. if you want the game search for this video on youtube "Killer Instinct Arcade Version DOWNLOAD" there are are download links of the game with emulator in the description.
The combo choreography is awesome every combo hit feel like a hit and sounded like it connected with the opponent. The xb1 version looks great but the combo system feels awkward, where it it rehashing the same attack animation for 3 or more time most of the time for combo count.
I wish when they made Killer Instinct 2 they would have kept certain movies for Orchid. The Fire Cat move was removed. Why?? That was an awesome move. She no longer has her laser swords, she uses Tonfa's instead. Same thing for SabreWolf, he no longer has a projectile move as well. I actually prefer this ending with Eyedol more satisfying them him just falling into the Lava pit. Plus this the empty arena stage fits more with Eyedol then the Bridge.
My memories of this game and what I'm seeing are like night and day! It's like playing NES Punch Out and remembering how big the characters were and then playing it today and seeing the limitations.
I must say, I think you're the greatest KI player I've ever seen on here. I actually use this combo for when I go to the arcade by my house, because I have the SNES emulator on my computer and I cant do it on here. I'm gonna go to that download video and hope I can download it on my computer because the arcade version is WAAAYYYY better than the SNES version. You can do so much more. Orchid is my favorite character, even though I can play with every one else, she's the best
It's arcade only, but can be emulated through MAME, it was originally meant to be on the Nintendo 64, but because of the N64's delays, was dropped in favour of the Killer Instinct 2 upgrade, Killer Instinct Gold.
Some of this dudes combos were so hard to perfect. Even though the system is shallow trying to figure out what linkers went where and when would have me sitting for hours with red thumbs Lol. This game will always be a part of my childhood
Have you guys even seen footage from the new game outside of the conference? It simply looks amazing and the gameplay seems spot on. I still have my doubts on the dev, but they are aware of the expectations and put alot of effort in both the game and the communication with the fans. Seriously, I wonder why people are so extremely negative towards the new one while there's no reason to at the moment.
The reason characters were changed is due to the story of the game, which, yes, the new game focuses more heavily on, but you could say that about a lot of fighting games nowadays. Back then, game developers didn't force a story on you, you just played the game normally, right? Well, those games did have some kind of story, and even in the sequel the appearance of certain characters changed, they got new finishers, etc. This new one is just trying to be more approachable to a wider audience.
Casual players choose characters based on archetypes and personalities, not on gameplay. Once they pick who they want to be their main they pretty much commit to it. And if it's an issue you can just buy the full version. The F2P version is exactly the same as downloading a demo and then buying the full game. This is something we do today.
Are there two versions of the Eyedol boss stage? I remember fighting him on a bridge when I played this in the arcade. Also, I think only Orchid, Cinder and Spinal have stage fatalities.
man what a awesome video ! some sick combos in their man, i always thought thunders stage should of had a stage fatality seeing as it was on a bridge and all
Yeah dude, this game had lots of mysterious little details, like how Orchid's sticks glow red sometimes. i'm not sure about the new KI, i only just seen the trailer but i just hope they dont cheap it out like Streetfighter 4. Not everything has to be 3D models, sprites worked just fine.
Neither of them are good reasons. Being free to play is not an issue. There's several versions you can get, either the full retail version or the free-to-play digital version. With the free-to-play version you only get one character but you get access to all its single player and multiplayer modes and you can even go online with it. You don't have to spend money on characters you don't want. Let's say you just want to play Sabrewulf, well, buy him for a small fee and there you have it.
The new KI does have blood, but it is not visibly shown because of the effects... they need to add danger moves. The new one is more like the original KI's cousin
Fianlly! A legit criticism based on things we actually know about the game play! Sorry, I'm just really tired of the way people have been complaining about this game. For the record, I agree with you. I watched the special presentation they did at EVO yesterday and I kind of felt that way myself. I have faith they'll get it where it needs to be because they have a lot of people that worked on the original KIs working on this one. But I can't wait for this game!
