Deadly is kind of a joke in the speed run community; it's essentially 95% the same as Normal, but the 5% that's different is absolutely aggravating, resulting in a much less fun run overall. That being said, I noticed how popular my previous Deadly PB was here on RU-vid, and figured I may as well "give the people what they want" with a better run.
For the most part, this run went well. It's been two years since I last attempted Deadly, so there have been notable refinements to the route since then. Alas, Sunset 2 here shows the biggest reason why Deadly is so frustrating: Camellias are annoying to kill, and missing any of them in the early game breaks the blood route. Despite that bump, I gained quite a bit of time on nearly every other split, so I can't complain too much.
I likely won't touch Deadly again for a very long time, so I'm glad this single attempt was the only one I needed. I'm going to assume this video, like the last Deadly run, will wind up doing reasonably well with its numbers. If nothing else, I try to be a crowd pleaser when I can...
