Everyone loves this style of Body Pickup, with deep bodywork. Especially that Killerbody LC70. Why don't manufacturers make bodies like this on RC already assembled? More compatible? Apparently, the biggest problem is getting the rear suspension to stay horizontal. Your customization was perfect! (I'm from Brazil and I'm using google translator).
Great video excellent work on your trx4 if I was local I’d have you do one for me. Way better than all the other videos on RU-vid thanks for sharing take care
Hi. My TRX4 is 312mm wheelbase. I didn't modifiy the wheelbase on my TRX. I used velcro mounts to adjust and center the wheels in the fender well. Hope that helps.
Dude excellent work and modifications I've been wanting this body for a long time for a Gen 8 Pak chassis I have, I may move my Injora defender body to the gen8 and use my Trx4 sport Chassis for it, how was your experience buying directly from killer body, I've haven't been able to find to many companies that sell the TRX version 323mm. Smart setup on the cantilever setup 🎄🎅
Thank you! I actually had a positive experience dealing with the company directly. In fact, the shipping was surprisingly fast from overseas! Check with Killerbody directly and they might have a discount code, also better than dealing with resellers. 🤷♂️ Also, the cantilever works but be mindful thats its better for scale rc than performance oriented. Thanks again for your kind words.
@@danielsonhobbies thank so much for info, I'm such a scary cat I went to the website but I've had such bad luck overseas. Plus they wanted 32.00 for shipping. I should have ordered it from banggood USA when they had it on there one week ship special. Anyway I went back to where I always shop Amazon they had a beautiful Ford bronco ranger Hardbody. It's still overseas but with Amazon I have had 100% customer service. As for the cantilever I still plan to get it. My trucks are not top performance anyway. Thanks again. Lc70 on the next project.🎅🎄🎉🎊
I agree with the way the rear shocks are mounted. Mainstream sometimes does wired things and people just copy without a second thought... I am getting my LC70 this week to fit on my SCX10 iii. Not sure what is going to happen since I can't any information on this combo.
Thanks! I tend to question things; it's probably both my strenghth and weakness. I think the white LC70 on Amazon is the same as the trx4 version, minus the fenders. Hope that makes sense. Happy building!! Let me know when you finish it!

Happy building.
Nice rc truck! I’m new to the hobby and I’m seeing scale build rc trucks with headlights and brake lights. How many channels do I need to build a scale rc truck?
Thank you! Its better to have more channels than not having enough. On this truck i only had 3 channels. I have since switched to a 6 channel FlySky radio for my other builds. Hope that helps🤙

Hey man great video want to do this as well this is the best explained video I've seen thanks. What finder flares are you using instead of the ones that come with? And with those tires do you rub to bad?
Thank you! Glad I can help! The fender flares are actually from Killerbody. The front will rubbed the most at full flex. I just limited the compression travel with a rubber tubbing to prevent that. I went to a 1.9"x4.5" tire which stop most of the rubbing issues. Hope this helps and happy building!
Awesome build! Quick question which lc70 wheelbase is this? I noticed in the killerbody website that they have two different wheelbase. I want to add it on a trx4 sport. Thank you.
This body is so sick. I'll most likely be doing something similar as I'm not a fan of the non-realistic look of the sport kit body. How bad did it impact performance? I'd assume it'd weigh something similar to the sport kit with all the accessories.
Hi Blue Shark. The weight of the harbody is more than a lexan body. This negative impact makes the trx4 even more top heavy losing some of its performance compared to lexan. Nevertheless, its an awesome detailed body; if trx4 is tuned correctly could be a perfect match.
The TRX4 is very durable out of the box. Only complaints are the electronics. Most local hobby shop will have parts. If you are not after scale looks, then the TRX4 Sport has the most value and simplicity. Hope this helps🤙
Unfortunately a 5000mah battery will not fit on the stock TRX4 battery tray or a lower center gravity setup in stock location. The bed of the LC70 sits too low into the stock battery tray. You can fabricate a tray out of ABS plastic for the battery to sit on inside the cab of the LC70 or a small softpack battery.
How did you mount the velcro to the body in the front?all i can see is 2 post sticking out where the bracket would screw to .not much surface to mount velcro to
@@danielsonhobbies Thanks for the reply,i kind of figured as much but wanted to make sure before i wasted any velcro on a method that will not work, lol

Thank you. Yes you will need to modify the rear shocks and battery tray so the lc70 can sit properly. You can either cut holes in the bed or use the cantilever setup. Hope this helps and happy building.
Great question. I changed the shock from vertical to horizontal to free up space for the LC70 bed. I opted to do this so I didnt have to cut a hole in the bed. I used a cantilever suspension setup for this. Hope this make sense🤙
This build use a TRX4 Sport and LC70 body. At the time of this filming, I bought the LC70 directly from the manufacturer. Now they can be found just about everywhere...Amazon, Amain. Make sure to pick the LC70 body for the TRX4. Hopes this helps and happy building🤙
Great build! I have a question for you, how tuff are these body's compare to a stock lexan body? I'm running a TRX-sport and thinking of buying a hardbody but afraid of wrecking it when using it for the usual ruff crawling. Hope hear from you. Greatings from the Netherlands.
Thank you! I think lexan bodies are more durable than hardbodies. For the most part, if you scrape the side or flip over the lexan paint and exterior will be fine. On the hardbody, the paint is painted on the outside so you will get the scratches along with detail pieces that are attached separately that might break off. Lastly, biggest downside of hardbody is the weight. You will have to reconfigured your center of gravity. Happy building!
Nice Video good fit instruction, wonder if it will fit on the original TRX4 Chassis, i want to get ride of the factory on mine. found your channel through a search and I think its worth a Sub...
Thanks you. I subb to your channel as well. This body is actually fitted on a trx4 sport chassis. It required minimal mods to adapt the lc70 to the Traxxas. Happy building!
@@danielsonhobbies Cheers on the sub much appreciated, I have the original chassis so possibly more mods to make it fit if i order it, still on the body hunt.
@@radioactivescalerc Win win for everyone. If your into Landcruisers, xtra speed has a lexan body that is only $20, or MST j45c with better detail and will cost more though.
@@danielsonhobbies Thanks I will check them out, really want to go the hard body direction , I really like the SCX10 II with the xtra speed jeep body super stable and preforms really well for the weight of it.
I am using TRX4 Sport 312mm wheelbase. The velcro mount lets me adjust accordingly without having to change links. If you have a defender RTR, then it should line up perfectly with the wheel well without changing any links. Hope that helps.
@@danielsonhobbies there is a huge gap between the front and rear wheels... Wheels with a diameter of 2 times larger will easily fit. www.megatoys24.ru/uploads/all/8d/9d/1c/8d9d1c73c17400c7885d670442aa8db8.jpg
@@darcykeddell4930 It would rub on the body. I fixed it by going to a 1.9x 4.5 tire. Now the rubbing is minimal. If you wanted no rubbing then you would need 1.9x3.35 tires. Hope this helps🤙
I used xtra-speed suspension but any trx4 cantilever setup will work. Hope it helps.🤙 www.rcmart.com/xtra-speed-cantilever-kit-for-traxxas-trx-4-mst-cfx-w-xs-tx28086-00082632
Hey :) im kinda new to the crawler world but i did some other builds in the past. I really wanna get the trx4 since i hear alot that it's pretty good for crawling and it also has a good transmission. So i think i'm gonna get for sure the kiklerbody lc70 but i also want a xtra jeep. is the xtra body difficult to mount on the trx 4 chasis?
Welcome to the crawler side of RCs. I dont think its difficult to mount the extra body. You will need to remove the sliders and change the body post at a minimum to mount different bodies. I can swap bodies under an hour. Hope that helps.🤙
Yes I bought the TRX4 Sport 312mm wheelbase. I ordered the TRX4 kit from Killerbody which comes in the 323mm. I used the velcro mounts to adjust the body.
Link below and i would shop around as prices fluctuates. www.ebay.com/itm/KYX-Traxxas-TRX-4-Cantilever-Suspension-W-Arms-Shocks-Hardware-/392598430864?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286
I used the Killerbody kit. It does not come with the bumper. The link has the body kit and bumper. Happy building🤙 store.killerbody.com/collections/lc70-upgrade-for-traxxas-trx-4
Glad to help. Its really up to you on the cantilever setup. The only benefit of having cantilever setup is whether you want a cleaner bed look vs having shock towers poke thru the bed. Hope that helps.
@@ajaybharadva8654 I think that is pretty accurate. When I purchased my TRX4 it was the best deal for a ready to run. The quality, fit and finish, durability are some of the best in the industry. Now i have own a few brands, they all have their quirks. Dont forget about Axial, Element and Redcat are all very competitive in pricing and parts availability also. Hope that helps😬
Sorry for the late reply. Didnt get notification of your question. I dont have any links to them but here are the parts used. Rims are GM70174 by GMADE and tires are Proline PRO10150-14 in 4.75" class 2 tire. Hope this helps.
