“A proper romance is always doomed.” The stars weigh in on a potential Eve and Villanelle endgame in Season 4 of 'Killing Eve.' #Villaneve Follow TVLine on... Twitter: / tvline Facebook: / tvline Instagram: / tvline
Unfortunately, that's just us projecting our own feelings onto her. In reality, Jodie was 100% on board with the way the story ended. At least according to her and Sandra Oh. Sandra actually had wanted Eve to be the one to die. which I honestly think would have been a better ending. Still not what I'd have hoped for... but I feel like it would have been appropriate.
sandra talking about how they've become able to tolerate each other in bigger and bigger doses and how in season 4 they're finally like, comfortable and happy around each other hurts so bad. that may not be a 'romance' in the way she describes, but it is love. those 'boring' moments when they were just sharing curly fries or driving around or staring into each others' eyes unflinching in that sleeping bag were much richer than that embarrassing slap in the face of a final scene. villaneve deserved SO much better.
You can literally tell that they are dissapointed w this season. Jodie had like...nothing good to say ab it 😭😭 she was straight up stumped on what to say I hate the ending :( so sad...
literally haven’t seen it yet bc i cant until it comes out on crave BUT I’VE ALREAYD SEEN HER DEATH ON INSTA😭😭 i cant. i’ve been so sad all day i know it’s just a tv character but it feels more than that
You can see how they were trying just to move on and forget, and the confrontation of that final scene must have been so heartbreaking for them even in this interview months later...
@@abbystroud6747 just don't watch the last few minutes of epsiode 8!!! After Villanelle says "we did it", just TURN OFF THE TV!!! Seriously don't watch the ending. It's so much worse that just 'Villanelle dying'. So bad. 0/10 💔
@@whatisahandle2737 oh god😭😭 i saw that she gets hurt & bleeds out i know there’s no way to prepare for it… i really don’t want to see it.. but LOL there’s a part of me that is just curious but ik i’m gonna ball my eyes out omg…
@@JR-lr7ic I really highly doubt that. In interviews Jodie doesn’t seem interested at all. Neither S or J has posted about the season like they usually do. There’s no way, Jodie was happy about V dying.
@@arianatormixerblinkoncemyFrom all accounts I've read... from Sandra, from the writers, from Jodie herself... she was 100% on board with the way the story ended. Just because we as fans hated it doesn't mean we should project our feelings onto the artists.
I think the last season was phasing out Villianelle and Eve and concentrated a lot on Carolyn to focus on Carolyn’s spin off show coming soon. The show was always about Eve and Villianelle but the last season we were bombarded with unnecessary background scenes of Carolyn and her past.
Yes! This! I hate how writers neglect/sacrifice main characters to focus on side characters to set up future storylines. It happened to Black Widow's movie. The focus was mostly on the little sister. It sucks that they care more abt a cash grab than fans and the integrity of the storyline
They were so stressed out with the last question because they didn't expect it to be so fitting to how the season 4 finale turned out. They were like, 'goddammit, your question just gave it all away' 🤣
I'm going to pretend season 3 & 4 was a fever dream and hope that Phoebe Waller-Bridge comes back to write Carolyn's spin off in which V & E are very much with us
OK, everybody! The show finished in 2022. Has everybody recovered from that? I am here, in Brazil, April 2024, watching “the end”. What was that? The scar scene and the kiss were just perfection! but I feel disturbed. Not only because of the way that wonderful character (Villenelle - love the name) died, but also because I thought her redemption through love would be a perfect answer to our times, after the pandemic and with so crazy things happening around. So, Eve will not recover (or reborn, as the writer said)... not from the loss of that kind of unique love in life. Villanelle, wherever she is, must be very angry. Again: WHAT WAS THAT? And thanks for all the actors, Sandra, Jodie, Fiona, Kim and so on. It was a great journey! Thank you very much!!
God I love them so much and I love the way they express their feelings about the journey of the characters and the show as a whole. I have watched the first two episodes of season 4 and I still feel the same excitement and intrigue I felt from the beginning of the earlier seasons. This is an excellent and groundbreaking show, whatever the outcome it may be in the end, Killing Eve will always hold a very special place in my heart. It has been a thrill and a delight to watch the evolution of Eve and Villanelle. My respects to the whole production and to Sandra and Jodie 👏👏👏👏👏👏
@@elenshi437 Agree with both of you. I don't understand all these people groaning on about how the show went downhill after the first season. I thought it was brilliant all the way through to the very end.
Wish they end up together but very unlikely. The first few episodes of this season haven’t been great. Very disconnected with how the last season ended.
I agree with you... I feel cold when I watch it, it used to be so good. 😭 I keep thinking what would have happened if Pheobe Waller Bridge wrote the entire series. A real chef d'œuvre I pretty sure. What a shame. We gradually lost everything that made Season 1 such a innovative, funny, thrilling show. Feel really 😔 Sad. I m glad Jodie made Help with her mate Stephen afterwards and won a Bafta for it. To remind everyone what a great actress she is because in Killing Eve she became almost like a supporting role starting at the top (beautiful parisian flat, amazing clothes, a love for everything beautiful and expensive, very great sense of humour especially with Konstantin) and ending in the dark waters of the Thames. 😢 😭 😢
How about this (it works for me): A Stealth military/medical helicopter hovers above the Thames. Two rescue rafts with hoists are dropped. Four SAS divers in the Thames put Eve and Villanelle into rafts and hoisted to helicopter. Eve and Villanelle are given emergency surgery. Later... E and V wake up in a large luxurious bedroom to the sound of Claire de Lune being played on a Steinway grand piano. The pianist (who is the international concert pianist Khatia Buniatishvili) looks over to E and V and says Carolyn wishes you good health and welcome to Batumi, Georgia.
Yip, I’m still heartsore over this ending for Eve and Villanelle. But you know what? Major props to Sandra and Jodie for acting the shit out of this love/hate story from beginning to end, bad writing and all. They gave the characters so much depth and love 🥰❤️
I want to be optimistic but, based on these interviews, I have a feeling we'll never see any kind of "relationship"/togetherness between them and that we'll just have another reboot of Season 3. :/
its hard to end this series. any way it could end would be somehow unsatisfying, because that’s just the nature of the relationship they’re portraying. i think they could’ve done it better, but i think id dislike an ending where they both lived more than the actual ending
I just started tonight but knowing that this is cancelled and that Jodie died (with all the shit they endured) I am not watching anymore haha.. at least on the book it was a good ending..
Sandra and Jodie are amazing actress but sadly season 4 was really bad, very poorly written from start to finish. Unfortunately with the last season the writers ruined a fantastic series that was Killing Eve. Dont get me wrong It's not the actors' fault , they worked very well anyway with what they had. It's just a shame that the season was written so poorly and that the characters were ruined so bad .I love Jodie, Sandra, Fiona, Kim and the majority of the Killing Eve cast and I thank them for the emotions they gave us and for their great acting!
Love Jodie perfomance, Sandra oh was good in GA but here should be an actress more expressive. And aweful end, look like the writers was really lazy and without imagination when decide this fu*_& end
Well I actually loved s3 ending, think it was the best episode of the season but as for s4 in hindsight I absolutely wouldn't watch it..it's a disaster and a shame
So disappointing by what I've seen so far of season 4. I think Killing Eve was interesting and fun and exciting as long as it was focused on Vilanelle. Now Sandra Oh talks all the time in interviews and her and other supporting roles took the show over. I feel sorry for Jodie because I think she's not the center of the series anymore and now I almost lost interest. Now the glamorous one seems to be the French woman, I never liked that actress I find her very vulgar, and Jodie is wearing horrible clothes. I miss her clothes, her places and her relationship with Konstantin. Where is the humour? I feel very frustrated 😠 I really miss the atmosphere of the first season. I don't think the series will end on a high. And I found the scene with Eve on her motorbike simply ridiculous... I wish it was produced by BBC UK perhaps it's more for American viewers than Europeans now 😕 I don't know but I don't think I m going to record this season.
@BroadBand Rework by morgan g. Yes Mad and Sad... I feel sorry for us, the fans who adored the first season and made it such a success... really upsetting 😢
I think the writers tried to avoid making Villanelle 'your typical female assassin' and they gave her some sense of humour. I do agree it's frustrating, to me their romance failed to bloom.
I think some people are just overthinking views and their hopes even, when it comes to this show... people bitchin cos it's "getting absurd now". The absurdity is part of it's charm and a wickedly big part of it. personally, I watch a show to follow the plot, as apposed to knockin it or tellin it where it could've done slightly better. It' a proper layered , heart debating, funny as funk, diabolical, psycho therapeutic (or detrimental), blast of a show. Season 3, episode 7.... absolutely hilarious... 39 mins 30secs in, in the hospital ward, just smashed it.... LMAO I'm guessin some of the "it's not realistic enough" critics might be trekkies too (no offence, star trek); logic doesn't rule in this plot on the surface but it's very logical in the deeper lays of it all though... Seriously funny, literally. I'm not even concerned where it gets steered top in the end... there's been more than enough peaks already throughout the seasons to allow it any choice of wrap, I reckon.
I hate to break it to everyone but romance with a narcissistic psychopath, no matter how charming they cane be, is ALWAYS doomed. They may idealize you at first but eventually will devalue and discard you. Psychopaths become bored of you, are abusive to you, and might even kill you. Definitely doomed. 100% the narcissistic psychopath is incapable of love. Only a fool would get caught up in that. Eve was indeed pretty darn foolish. It's hard to have any respect for her.
