The sleeping bag scene is definitely one of my all-time favorite villaneve moments because so much is said in between the lines. V touching the scar is both an acknowledgement of how much she hurt Eve and an acceptance of how they are forever bound together. When Eve says yes to stealing the van, she's also finally saying yes to having a "Bonnie and Clyde" adventure with V, something she completely rejected in S2's finale. V's smile at the end says it all. In fact, I just realize now that the scene can be also seen as a proposal. A murder wives' proposal but a proposal nonetheless.
I agree. My favorite scene of the episode. Jodie says so much without saying anything. Our beautiful and soft and sweet and complicated little assassin. And her hands!
What I love about this scene is the way Eve turns over in bed because she understands from Villanelle's breathing that she is troubled and getting emotional. She turns over to let her know that the bad days are behind them and that they can finally be happy together
This scene was more intimate than some of the more intense love scenes I've seen in movies. And the way Villanelle asked about stealing ths camper van felt akin to asking Eve to marry her. One of the things I love about these two is the way they so effortlessly communicate without words. Their connection is so poignant and powerful.
Season 4 should have been THE season, after the bridge scene in season 3 the relationship was already set for they to be together... but instead they decide to forget that season 3 finale ever happen and made all that mess in season 4 (plots that lead to nowhere, to long character development to an assassin who wasn't important to the main plot, and a long etc.) to just give us 5 sec of what Villaneve could have been.
@@LittleSkyful TOTALLY!!! I mean, if you were (anyway) going to not let them end up together, at least let them do the mess in their toxic relationship, Let Eve make Villanelle exhausted of her obsession with the twelve, and Let Villanelle disappoint goin against 'the fantasy of change' that Eve has in her mind... that would have been a lot better.
One thing I really liked from all this mess was the soundtrack. All of the songs they used on this episode give such a nostalgic and melancholic emotion. Is such a weird feeling of never ending sadness for what is already in the past, just like Eve'd feel at the ending. Even with that ending, this song would've been nice on the final scene. Its lyrics actually fit so well with the entire show
@@maria623161 Yes. Stranger from Anna von Haussswolff :D. The song is so so good. It could be the endsong for the series. This would have been perfect.
One of the best scenes ever. Tender, touching. Without unnecessary words, without unnecessary movements, without nudity or vulgarity. Everything is so clear and understandable, there is such love in their looks... I'm ready to watch this moment again and again
I've never wanted so much more for any characters as I did these 2. Soo much more they could've done together. So much love there between them. Really shitty that it's over. They deserved a life together...no 12 , no Carolyn or Pam... just them in a beautiful cabin in Alaska, eating spaghetti. Cuddled up together watching movies..😊❤️ forever and ever..
As Jodie said in an interview for her "Villanelle survived and emerged from the Thames and returned to the riverbank and she was safe"... so now she is with Eve and they love each other happily forever
This song is so absolutely perfectly haunting for this scene. The binding of two souls, the acknowledgement of the mark she left on her forever and vice versa. This was such an incredible incredible show and the ending absolutely destroyed it. Not to mention it completely ventured from the books. This song shows emptiness, two broken people that found each other. Two lost souls swimming around in the fish bowl of life trying to find themselves and reinvent. It was one of the best scenes from the entire series as a whole, I have not been able to stop watching this scene alongside the kiss we finally got after 4 agonizing seasons. It's so full of emotion and Sandra and Jodie's chemistry is absolutely UNMATCHED and they acted their absolute hearts out. I hope they win awards. I will, and I know many of us as well, will never forget this scene for the rest of our lives and the journey they embarked for the past 4 years. This has inspired me to finish the books I started.
I really love that "naughty" look Villanelle gives Eve when Eve asks her what she's doing..Villanelle here looks like a child who gets caught stealing candy, She's adorable❤. In this whole scene Villanelle is simply gorgeous
The ending makes me so mad. After all that they went through together and all the back stabbing they endured by people they trusted, they still had to suffer. Their moment of happiness only lasted a few days. Carolyn killed the assassin who spared her life. Ruined her son's best friends life. They didn't HAVE to have a happy ending but if they were going to kill Villanelle, they could have killed Eve too. At least they would have went to hell together.
THAT"S WHAT I THOUGHT--- death is not what makes me sad and mad, it's the separation. Like I don't get it. I don't care if the ending is supposed to me metaphorical or symbolic I JUST WANT THEM TO BE TOGETHER DEAD OR ALIVE. I'm in pain. And why is the show suddenly turned into killing villanelle. I'd rather not watch this series at all if the ending would be like this.
@@mafiagirl1648 the whole serie was about How actions have consequences. Giving them a good end wouldnt be logical. Their relationship was from the beginning doomed
@@tharakir1328 what are you talking about?? Killing Eve was never about some moralistic/bigoted shit, instead it was about these two women and their relationship, and its message (conveyed perfectly by the characters of Eve and Villanelle) revolved around subverting sterotypes and what's considered "normal", finding your true self and embracing that, regardless of "morality" and normalcy.
Seeing both their shoes on the same bed side 😢😌 meaning they both crawled in either together or the same way. I know the fans are upset but im really enjoying the small little gestures and gems of this finale every time i watch. You find little subtle things with each watch. Idc im choosing to enjoy these small moments. We got the very big antagonistic moments that reved us up over the seasons but it's the small significantly obscure interactions and moments that really didnt had shit to with the plot of the 12 bwtn these two that i think when looking back everyone will come to fully appreciate.
@@topgurl9313 yea it hit me i was like "wait 🤔" there was enough room on Villanelle's side why leave your shoes on that side of the bed then it hit me. That was totally on Sandra and Jodie's doing 😌😏
This scene still hits hard… even after watching it a hundred millions times… and get harder after like 5 months, there’s never a show been like this to me before. Haven’t move on from the tragically last 2 minutes, knowing this could be Villaineve waking up next to each other for the first time and it’s their last time hits differently… god and the lead writer and her team never spoken any explanation yet for how they ruined the fucking used to be great show.
They are two of my favorite character studies. Two deeply broken people find safety, peace, love, acceptance, growth, and care in each other. All the times V sees Eve and either starts crying, laughing, from relief and happiness… I just. 💔 I found out in the books, they both make it. And now. My favorite Game of Thrones characters got trashed supposedly in the name of *sticking to* a future book plot line. Then these two got trashed to *upend* a book plot line. Avoiding adaptations altogether isn’t actually the answer I realize, but things like this remind me-it’s not about sticking to a book or not, it shouldn’t be about “surprising the audience,” it’s about telling the best story, and tragically… This happened 💔
The softness of the lighting in the first 30 seconds is out of this world, as is Jodie Comer in that sweater. I marvel at the genius behind this 2 1/2 minute scene. Over 500 thousand views. It captures all the details of my fantasy where I play one of the characters.
Villanelle loved eve in her own way. Season 4 was the main focus on that. How she desperately wanted eve to notice her and how to prove her wrong. I wish eve cut her a little bit more slack. The time V went to eves hotel room whixh was genuine on her part and asking for help. And then eve dismissing her. I felt for v. Anyway I love this scene. It's one scar to another which proves they were bound for each other :) says alot without them saying anything.
After rewatching this finally and realizing what these scenes meant before the kiss..... like Eve basically told Villanelle that she was her girlfriend on the lowest of lows. Like it just hit my brain why Villanelle felt so comfortable touching her scar that she gave her. It wouldve been dope to have Eve touch Villanelle's stab wound 😫. A complete full circle moment that onky fans wouldve gotten and appreciated
really, i love the domestic scene very much, like any other couple's did, talking about normal tiny stuff and wipe up the dishes together...that's down to real life and the beauty of love shows up.
Heres to hoping the BBC concedes and theres a one of christmas spacial to give us the actual ending that matches the book. Such as how Villanelle disappeared so quickly from the water with no sighting of a boat. Or how Carolyn said she owed her a dare “perhaps pretending to be dead was the dare” if not Carolyn is the devil reincarnated.
the only way i'm watching any episode of the alleged ''young carolyn'' spin-off is if they include a ''future'' scene where we see V and Eve together somewhere, implying V's death was faked. We deserve this damn it
@@edenlust1638 hey! If you mean that you haven't watched it at all, it is definitely worth watching.. but the way the ending came is unacceptable and painful. We may all have expected that it wouldn't be a satisfactory or good ending But even so, it was cruel!
@@ddgg5975 I have watched the ending, I did search for it since the ending seems quite epic that leaves the fans so heart broken. I was just starting to ship them and pay more attention to them before I find out the show will end soon. Too bad. What is more pisses me off is they say in the book Villaneve end up together, but on the show they usually make the story tragic or just unhappy 🙄
The kiss was great but the sleeping bag gave me more butterflies than the kiss itself it just felt so soft and tender we could have had 8 episodes of this and then Vs d* would have felt like she at least got her happiness in the end I'm forever angry
Way too many questions unanswered for me and didn't like the ending at all, but can't say I didn't feel it was coming. Series finales have been seriously disappoint me this past decade. The one positive I take from this and a constant throughout the series was the choice of music. This scene's song ('Stranger' by Anna von Hausswolff) in particular had me immediately wanting to checkout the episodes soundtrack as it caught my attention in the first few notes.
Indeed she is. There is no denying that Villanelle had always felt something for Eve. However, she was never fully able to love Eve because she never truly understood the full gravity of that emotion. This is the season where we saw that growth in Villanelle. She finally understood what it truly meant to love and be loved in return. I wished they had focused more this season on them defining their relationship. I so wanted to see the progression of their relationship organically.
This scene was my fave moment and only redeeming quality of S4. Which makes me angry that there was so many potential for the last season and it was all wasted. I only rewatch S1&2, few episodes of S3 and last eps of 4. Even up to that last minute 😭
minha obsessão para sempre, sinto falta de esperar casa episódio e fazer teorias na minha mente e sorrir do nada com as cenas idiotas de quando estavam juntas :)
Villanelle remins me of Leonardo di Caprio in that movie where he is the lover of a... writer ? The same crazy spontaneous behaviour mixed with tenderness
I'm going to miss them and I'm tired of loneliness in single lesbian I'm looking forward to meet a lesbian date I'm 30 years old single lesbian from US
I got the first book and I’m so excited and can’t wait to read it. Villanelle and Eve deserved their happy ending. Wished they killed someone else instead of Villanelle. The ending was a disappointment and was sad too. Only got to see them as a couple for ten minutes then it was gone.
