Thank you so much. I feel like this video was made for me. You had suggested the Sedgehammer in a comment that I sent you before. I purchased it and applied it and OMGSH it works! The nutsedge is turning light yellow and dying. Yayyyy. Thank you Grass Daddy!

Sedgehammer works great, but it takes about 14 days for it to fully yellow out. We've had more nutsedge than ever here in the North East. About 10 years ago, I've never seen nutsedge in my lawn, but now it's every year. Sedgehammer does help suppress it also, I spray the known areas in early July before it sprouts up. I've noticed that I've gotten less and less each year but neighbors are getting more and more. I just received my free sticker and wanted to say thank you. I also wore the Grass Daddy shirt I ordered while mowing the lawn yesterday. My lawn looks great because of all your tips, thanks a lot.

Question: I didn't see a photo of your lawn care parts to the nozzle end of your sprayer clearly in your video & could not get the video to stop long enough for me to view a good photo of all the parts necessary to adapt the nozzle. In your lawn care products section linked, do you use all of the first 4 attachments shown there or is there anything else/more to make up the complete unit that you use on your sprayer? Thanks for any info. I appreciate it. Nice video, too.

I actually have sedgehammer arriving today to address an outbreak in my yard. Picked up the bottle, so I can mix small doses. Looking forward to the cooler temps!

How does that mixing small doses actually work, as the manufacturer, on their videos, state that it should not be stored and should be used immediately? Seems like keeping small doses would be the opposite of what the manufacturer actually states. Not trying to be argumentative, but just trying to learn more about this product by watching such videos, as well as listening and learning from the pro-landscaper who recommended it to me. Does it lose potency or deteriorate rapidly if made into small batches as you do? The Sedgehammer Plus has a dry surfactant in it, so perhaps that is why it isn't recommended to store. I simply do not know the reasoning and trying to learn as I go about this product. Thanks.

@@a1930ford so when you buy the packet, you have to mix the entire thing in one gallon of water and use it all (or toss what’s left over if you don’t use all of the mix). When I bought the bottle, I thought I could mix smaller batches, but that is actually not the case. Something I didn’t realize until after I received the product and read the label. You still have to mix a gallon at a time, but it’s a much smaller quantity of the product you need. But you can store the undissolved amount that is left in the bottle. It’s such a much lower use rate than the packet, and I don’t know why that’s the case, perhaps a different formulation. If you are reading stuff from the manufacturer, you probably have the right info. If you have questions, they may be able to help you.

How can you tell if it's nimblewill or creeping bentgrass? I'm not sure what I killed, but it was either of those two and I used Glysophate instead of Tenacity and reseeded.

I used 2 applications of sledgehammer last year which worked but came back this year in same spot. Trying the roundup for lawns this year.

Keep applying when you see it. It takes patience. You will get it eventually. It works. Extremely tough weed to eradicate for sure.

Can you use sedgehammer on freshly seeded Bermuda? My lawn is seedlings in 50% and think in others.

I've heard numerous times that nutsedge can be difficult to eradicate unless you use something professional like Sedgehammer. In my experience I used Spectracide weed stop with crabgrass control 1 time and it got rid of all my nutsedge with it.

Yeah I think it depends on weather and maturity of plant but I have heard sedgehammer works way better

Finally your back and wearing the new gear awesome 👍did you figure out what you were going to do by the drive way to create that edge? And it's still 100 over here in California 🥵 but my kbg mix in the back is still doing ok even after the 3 weeks of high 95's ! I may just do a regular driveway 😁 I used the granular version of prodiamine this time so I didn't have as much control over the application rate like liquid. I'll have to check the vid out ;)

@@GrassDaddy I have never tried the Granular version only the liquid gold 😉 on mine and has worked great also on all my lawns I take care of and have no weeds but I was using other products and ingredients with decent results to the point when I saw you using this way back when you seeded your whole yard and was using the blankets to try to keep the seed from washing away and ever since then I been using it so thank you for that👏 also the driveway I would do the whole thing also and maybe add a section leading to the front stairs👍 keep up the great work.

Yup it's usually a yearly issue for a bit until all the nuts in the ground have grown and died.

I plan to overseed in 2 weeks and I had some sedge appear. If I treat now will it be ok ? I heard you mention it but want to double check.

When you overseed use tenacity as it will kill the nutsedge but also let the seed germinate

The effects may take more than a week to show up. Sometimes 10 days or more. It's usually when I think it didn't work at all and want to apply another app then it really kicks in.

I have tons of this in my yard in one low area where some fill dirt was placed.. all the way down my my fence a good 2-3’ strip. I didn’t know what it was until recently. My yard is going to look bad after it’s sprayed 😔

The earlier the better. The way this works is it will stunt the growth. So when you next cut it won't continue to grow and eventually it dies. However, you will probably find new sprouts that you didn't spray before so it will definitely take a few weeks of applications to fully eradicate it.

So you need to wait until your new grass needs to be cut 2-3 times before weed killing. I do believe tenacity will kill nutsedge which is less harmful to new grass.

They are a waterproof latex glove, perfectly fine for the chemicals I use in the concentrations I use.

youre supposed to wait at least two days after mowing to spray nutsedge . Says right in the instructions .

Yup that is the same for all weed killers but sometimes it doesn't work out

You will kill maybe 60% of it there are nutlets underground that will come back next year. GCI turf showed a new granular product that seems to have a better kill of the active and the nutlets that didn't sprout.

will this kill zoysia? I'm heading into my third week post laying sod. Roots pretty well established and just cut down to watering twice a day. I applied pre emergent and a preventative fungicide.
