5.3 v8 in the later years of Monte Carlo SS in that body style. Originally 3800 super charged v6 or 3800 v6. LTZ's had 3.9's or base had 3.5 in later years.

a friend and I made it to Pic-a Part yesterday in Las Vegas even saw a 66 Ford Galaxy with almost no rust, I see you guys can't say the same. Looked like every vehicle out there had rust on it.

@ 5:15 That's my favorite Monte Carlo body style and I grew up as a teen in the 70s with the ultimate Monte Carlo. I call that year the shark because if you're looking at it from the front it looks like a snurse shark. But if you're not looking at it from the front it sounds awesome, the shark!

Those years of the Monte Carlo got a v8. The previous generation that I believe ended in 05 had the supercharged series 3 3.8l v6. GM also put the same engine in the GTP Grand Prix and Buick Regal GS

Hey Doug & Eric. Doug on your Monte Carlo question 00-05 had 3400, 3800, 04-05 also had the 3800 supercharged. 06-07 had the 3500 and the 5.3 v8

It was the Blazer from 1992-1994. The name changed and so did the interior in 1995 onward to Tahoe. Vortec introduced in 1996.

I’ve got an 01 XJ that is a pure trail rig. Pulled one of the nice wood grained WJ Overland steering wheels from a pull a part to install. So much nicer to drive with that steering wheel!

Man should have pulled those tow hooks on the XJ. California don’t have none. I’m in need of a pair of brackets. haha. OHC can be swapped into an Xj. the visor clips are built into the console on XJs and early Chrysler vans. Just have to rewire the console to put in XJ. There’s a write up.

After a lot of thought my 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee is no longer around. I traded it in on a 2008 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer with the 4.6L V8 4x4. So far so good. 3rd row seat which I doubt I'll ever have use for.

I’m not even a keep guy but i love these salvage yard videos lol. I’m from southern Ontario and all the yards around me don’t have many Jeep’s, and the one by my home has a single messed up wrangler there. I’m a Japanese sports car guy but still love all the stuff on the channel! Not a suv guy but your vids make me consider an old Jeep at some point!

Avalanche 2500 was 8.1 with 8 lug bolt pattern on the wheels.

Get yourself a TJ! I started my jeep career with a WJ then a XK and now a TJ and its the best thing. Flame red and I picked up a tan hardtop, can't beat it!

The SS Monte Carlo had a 3.8 with a super charger or a 5.3 v8 2004 and later they had transmission problems. Mine is a 2001. All of the SS's had the 3.8. I'm sure someone will correct me on that. Great video brothers!

I always loved/hated JY searching in the NY winters. You'd find something good, and the damn cold would cause some serious busted knuckles. I will say that damn near all the WJ's I came across were the 4.slo. since I've been here tin TX I came across at least 9 4.7HO's and 3 242WJ TC. I picked mine up for 100.00. I hated having a V8 in NY, like mining for gold at times, so much work and walked away with nothing.

That pull knob on the Cherokee could be a cable lock for the Dana30 CAD. Slightly more reliable than the vacuum-actuated CAD, which I have one on my YJ, looking to replace the 2 passenger shafts with an axle shaft from a TJ or Cherokee without the CAD and use a block off plate to replace the vacuum actuator assembly. Much more reliable and will make it 4x4 not 3 wheel drive! Keep it up D and E

The receiver hitch on that Wrangler is rated for more than the Wrangler is rated to tow anyhow. The short narrow wheelbase of the Wrangler gives them a very low towing capacity. Its not the drivetrain that dictates your towing capacity as much as the vehicle's size. I paid $140 for a set of wheels & tires for my 87 Ranger a couple months ago, glad I did, the tires that were on it decided to start separating so my 2nd set of wheels and tires are now on the truck. Now I need to find another set of tires LOL. The tires on the wheels I got maybe had a couple hundred miles on them if that, they look brand new. So I should get several years out of them. Nothing wrong with U-Pull parts, I usually find a lot of great parts that oftentimes were replaced by the owner trying to fix some other problem which led to them giving up and scrapping their car. Most vehicles I have been running across are in really good condition inside and out so it always makes me wonder why the vehicle is in the scrap yard. Other vehicles are just trashed like how do people drive a vehicle that's full of trash around like that. Then there are a few vehicles that have been wrecked almost to the point you can't even tell what they were, or burned to a crisp from some teenager trying to install a stereo system on the cheap.

That's the overhead console that'll fit in the ZJ for 96-98, but it's not a direct swap if I recall correctly since the BCM is different. Great find though, I grab them whenever I can, especially XJ ones since they're hard to find, especially with the correct harness. Wired one up into my XJ recently too.

the power steering cooler is in the condenser in the 04 overland, I have a wealth of knowledge of my jeep from doing it all myself :)

The 2500 Avalanche had the 8.1. Amazing torque motor, but horrible milage.

GM news for my neck of the woods! Generous General Motors to invest 1.3B in Oshawa production facility, will bring back 2000 jobs. When I first started at GM in 2004, GM Oshawa employed 16,000. A far cry from 2004 and 24,000 back in the late 80's, but its something. 🤷‍♂️

y'all should check out the video on dirt everyday.they got one where they have a Sierra jeep that they bought back from the junkyard drove it across to California.And then they got a new video where they put it up on one ton axles and forties. Make me whent to find one in the junkyard and do the same thing.

The last year they made the Monte Carlo the SS had a 5.3 V8. In 2007.

Get a TJ Sahara. Should have the Dana 44 rear but always check that as alot had the Dana 35. Both of those TJs would be saveable will a little love. As a Canadian TJ owner I can say neither of those we're all that bad.

I just bought an 04 wj I6 not one piece of rust on it #1 cyl. 65 psi all the others 155 it needs 1 exhaust valve spring. It's only 2wd can it be converted over 4wd. Cheers from Jacksonville Florida

There was a k1500 Blazer until 94-95? Then the Blazer went strictly to the S series vehicles until it was again replaced with the trailblazer. And usually 2500 trucks have 8 lug wheels. Good video guys, hope you had a good Halloween.

You guys make my brain hurt....And yeah I know it ain't much of a brain to start with but still....A retired Subaru mechanic told me, while we were still "living" in the People's Republic of Maryland, that even Subaru dealerships HATED working on their own brand. I had my doubts about that until The Lovely Bride's son tried to get ANYBODY to work on his 2005 Subaru sedan and they suddenly became deaf, blind and dumb. Apparently, based on what I was told, Subaru has a "self destruct" factor built into it's engines, transmissions, and drivetrains. Is that true?....Can't say as I have never felt the urge to buy a Subaru, but The Lovely Bride's son found out that selling his car for junk/parts was more economically viable, for him at least, than having his car repaired (the all wheel drive system and the "If you have to replace ONE tire you have to replace them ALL at the same time." thing makes Subaru vehicles too expensive for the average yahoo.....And by the way....I don't know what the deal is/was but Chevy dealers of the era sold the heck out of Z71 4X4 trim level Avalanches here in South Carolina....And the damn things are STILL all over the place....Rust free!!!....And don't even think about asking if any of them are for sale....Because, trust me on this one, they are not....At least not for under the $10,000.00 range from what I have seen/been told. Keep the great videos coming as even us dumber than dirt types can learn something from them!
