@@stus2159 it isn't..... Brig gets value by existing. As long as ur alive on brig u will get value by denying the opposition side dps. Doom cannot get value unless actively making plays
@@B353RK its easier to get picks with doom. Brig has 0 mobility and is very easy to kill since the nerfs. Getting 1 or 2 key picks with doom is enough to win the fight in most cases. Something that is much easier to do with doom

The thing I love about Overwatch is that no matter what character you play, sometimes if someone catches you by surprise no matter the hero you or your opponent are playing, they can kill you. Which makes it fun to think of creative or skilled ways of escaping or turning the combat around on someone. It’s always so funny to me when someone gets killed by a legitimately good player doing creative things and displaying good reflexes and timing, and just chalking it up to “unbalanced”
That defeats the purpose of roles. Tanks are meant to soak up damage and not do a shit ton of their own and support are meant to heal, damage boost, or reduce cooldowns in other games. Overwatch just doesn't know what it wants to be.
@@Whatever-tu7ue if the game was fixed to where each role cannot have any creativity to it then it would be so bland especially since you can’t customize the character you choose and all of their abilities/passives at all. Overwatch will always be fun to me bc of this reason

This is why I love Custa. A lot of people jump to the "this player is trash doom is just op" but Custa's like "I mean Doom's not good he just has a one shot mechanic that you can abuse if you know how to play the hero" and he recognizes that you're like genuinely good at doomfist but that he is kinda broken in the right hands but also not good enough to be meta very often. Obviously this is the type of meta that we're in as Doomfist is pretty okay right now it seems, though in the highest rank he's really nothing compared to Cassidy, Mei and Echo but I digress
Wouldn't Hanzo, Widowmaker, Reinhardt, and hell even Hog be broken? Compared to Doomfist, Widowmaker and Hanzo are even more broken because their one shots come from their primary weapons and not a cooldown.
@@Whatever-tu7ue There is a lot of counter-play to widow and hanzo including and especially things like shields. Shields are pretty good against Doomfist too but you can be "behind" a shield while still getting dove by Doomfist as he doesn't suffer as terribly from that kind of positioning. Hanzo and Widow players go on flanks too, but Doom has the movement to get out of sticky situations better than Widow and Hanzo. Especially when he has his ult where he can sink his entire kit and if he's not dead ult to safety. As far as the other characters go, Widow and Hanzo are also broken in the right hands, hanzo even more so as he has a lot of shieldbreak potential leading him to not only have a long range one-shot but the shieldbreak to give him the opportunity even if enemies are behind a shield. Hog has a lot of shieldbreak but he can only get a one-shot every 8(?) seconds, and that's if he hits a slow-projectile cooldown. He can be pretty broken in the right hands in the right meta also, and especially since shields have been heavily nerfed he's been solidly A tier since, even so far as S tier in the offtank meta. Doomfist requires a lot of skill, though; where a lot of players simply state that Doomfist is broken, he takes quite a bit of cyclic cooldown management and positioning to pull off, where Widow and Hanzo are more about positioning (obviously all of the above characters also have mechanics to consider) All of that being said, I don't think Custa believes, nor do I believe that Hanzo, or Widow can't be busted in the right hands. Hog can also be busted in the right hands, though there are changes the devs could implement that would make him practically useless. I haven't really mentioned Rein up till this point because while pin can one shot people, he can be counterpinned, bashed, and booped away by quite a few heroes rather easily, especially seeing as his pin moves much slower than any of Doomfist's abilities. Additionally he has the long cooldown of Hog's hook, and no escape abilities should he use his pin. Even without all of that though, using his pin aggressively - while it could be considered busted - is a misuse of the character given his role. His job is to take space, not to get key picks. That isn't to say he CAN'T get key picks, but his entire kit is not centered around that, and if you play him that way in every composition or every meta, you likely won't find much value on the hero. Rein's dependence on meta is for whether he's viable, whereas Doomfist's meta dependence is moreso if he's a GOOD pick versus an OKAY pick, or if he's a good pick even for players that don't play him all that often. I also apologize, my original comment looks a bit scatterbrained even to me, but my point wasn't to claim Doomfist as overpowered or broken, but rather recognize the skill of Zbra and appreciate the thoughtfulness of Custa, genuinely as well, nothing in my original comment nor this one was aimed to be read as sarcasm.

Imagine being so far up ur own ego to think that doom deserves a deletion than brig; a character that single handedly destroyed the fun in ow and brought upon the cursed goats era. On a side note I recently just discovered ur channel after watching nothing but chipsa and quake and I shall be looking forward to more doom content :D

@@kingclampz6081 Doom is decent against reaper but with the experimental patch that may go live he might be a lot worse. I don't think reaper is so much of a counter against doomfist compared to like echo and cree because you can just avoid him mostly. I dont think doom needs buffs, just other things need nerfs like cree
People still think Doom is OP and it baffles me, they see top players causing chaos but ignore the fact most dooms are feeding hard as fuck and pretty much throwing the game lol
Doom is fucking hard. What makes people angry is that once you get control of the kit and knows how to use it properly he can streamroll pretty easily. I'm talking general mentality here, not personal. I'm a hog player so even though doom is annoying as fuck, I can most often handle him pretty good.
Well if you just punch things it’s easy but everything else is pretty hard. It can be argued that he’s easy to play but just hard to get value since virtually every hero has something for him, all his nerfs etc
He's mentally decently hard, but mechanically he's pretty easy. Just like with Mercy, just because he's super easy doesn't mean you can get to GM. You need to actually belong there. However, a GM Doomfist belongs there less so than, say, a GM Genji or Ashe

I am a doom player, and I dont think it is broken or anything, but watching these clips make me feel a little agonized bc it seems like they are having the worse time of their lives
just to be clear, I'm not saying widow is broken, just that she's extremely weak against dive heros (winstom, genji, d.va, doom etc.) and that, if you're playing her, you should definitely expect getting focused.
The one shot mechanics? You mean using cooldowns to get in range and hope you land the punch? Or uppercut them to hit all shots? But let’s ignore widow and hanzo who one shot across the map
Guys I was never good at Overwatch. I peaked at diamond on Xbox. So can someone explain to me the thought process of getting dove by a Doom and Ball, and swapping to Widow to counter.
My favorite part is how many times Custa basically contradicts himself by complaining about dying to doom and then says "yeah doom is really bad" like if you keep dying to a hero that's bad then maybe you're making a misake? Most of the clips he's dying to doom he's either plan zen or baptiste - both of which are heroes that doom had good matchup against in overwatch 1. Like you just swap brig and doom literally becomes useless.
