so sorry guys! my dumbass scheduled this video for tomorrow even though it was supposed to be for today! love you guys so much and i hope you enjoy this reaction :)
Had to quit everything I was doing for this reaction bro! This song will go down as one of the greatest KSE songs ever!!! Check our their songs, My Curse, Rose of Sharyn next or The End Of Heartache with Howard on vocals and let us know what you think!
Zenith I think he’ll dig the lyrics and music a lot but I really want to hear what he thinks of Howard’s vocals and how they differed from Jesse. I’ve said before that they both brought two different styles to the band but neither changed what KSE was and are. I love and respect KSE as a whole and I’m stoked that Alex is reacting to them.
yeah, it's the next logical step! I personally prefer Jesse over Howard but not for much, Howard is a beast! IDK, there's something about Jesse's voice that makes you feel what he feels...Another idea could be having Alex react to Days of Grace since "Hymn of a broken man" is practically another KSE album (and a very good one)...
You already react Killswitch Engage with Jesse, now you should react Killswitch Engage with Howard Jones on vocals. Songs like The End Of Heartache, In The Arms Of Sorrow, This Is Absolution, My Curse and Rose Of Sharyn. This are the songs that makes KsE the king of metalcore
I second that... I love both KSE so to speak. What made it so great with the Howard era is that it sort of made KSE into two awesome metal bands. This second run with Jesse is really an evolution of the band and I've been a fan since early 2000 and I still consider them my overall favorite metal band.
Metal, as in all music, makes you feel something that can only be expressed through angst. It's not about making others feel pain and suffering, its more to help (you as the listener) deal with your own in a way that only you can. Ever song has a different meaning for each person.
Beautifully said Chris! I feel though, Metal Songs, even though they appear superficial in sound really stick these emotions to you. Too bad corporations see Music as a sale enhancing background performance and people started to catch on to it a lot. There are INCREDIBLY strong songs still made every day, most of them will never be heard though, even if they could help them through their struggle.
Most "True Metalheads" will never, and mean NEVER put a metalcore album in their top 10, hell, 100. But if a metalcore record exists that deserves METAL HOF(GODS) status, this is it.
I love that you said that people who love Metal are open minded...because metal music has a bad rap sometimes...a lot of people see it as "the devil's music" or whatever...so it does take an open minded person to listen to metal and appreciate it. So thank YOU for being open to the genre!
I like both of them, they are both great singers, I think the reason prefer Jesse though is that in my option Alive or just breathing was their masterpiece album and his vocals are so fucking awesome on that album
Now it's time to introduce you to Howard. Another amazing vocalist and nobody else could have substituted Jesse in his prolonged absence. Very nice guy too who sat and talked to my best friend who was months in recovery from a severe car on pedestrian accident. Held up the line just to talk to my friend and give him his well wishes and was so interested that he survived. Sucked for the rest of the people but made my friend's day. I suggest Rose of Sharyn or End of Heartache
Jesse is a better lyricist and Howard is the better singer. That said, they both rock. Jesse sings with pure passion and Howard know's how to fuck a crowd... God Howard can really command an audience. lol.
Soilwork - Rise Above The Sentiment Amazing mixture of screaming and clean vocals. Great melodic death metal. You'll dig it! Fair warning though, The music video is horrible lol
I love Killswitch so damn much! I can't count how many times their music has helped me thru though times. I prefer Howard but Jessie has his own style that's equally as moving.
Killswitch Engage - Rose of Sharyn. This is with their second singer Howard Jones. Is he better than Jesse? Dunno, I love em both! Like, my feelings about the group never changed with the singers haha. They both kick ass!
I would also say Gone with the wind. I have never seen a song being performed with that amount of feelings before. Seeing "gone with the wind" live changed my view on Architects.
Thank you for doing this one Alex. This song is so great as you'll find yourself singing 'FROM SORROW' and 'This is, my last, serenade' for the next few weeks, or decade for me!
That was awesome man! Loved the reaction, a lot of metal music does sound like noise to people but that’s because people are set in their ways and only like what they like, but I agree metal music and music in general has a sense of meaning behind everything that goes into producing the songs, killswitch has a lot of awesome songs, a lot of super meaningful ones too, I love bands that have a presence not just because of their popularity but because of the tone of their music! Awesome reaction man! Managed to get here leave an awesome comment for you ;) so close to 40K man! Congrats, you deserve the best dude!
Watching you react to these videos reminds me of myself growing up to these songs. I appreciate your open mindedness to the genre and the emotion behind the tracks. The metal community is often misunderstood, so I thank you for giving the music an honest opportunity to speak for itself and understand truly what we stand for. Btw, you're getting dangerously close to no longer being a hip hop head, but a real Metal Head! We're glad to have you.
Okay, a couple of things 1: God dude! how enthusiastic you are always makes me smile, so thanks for that. I love these react channels and seeing a new generation get amped up to this shit! 2: If you dig this kind of metal you really should check out Fear Factory...a good place to start is Self Bias Resister from the Demanufacture release in '95 3: No offence, but I would hate to see you in a pit (you don't seem like the type)...so you should definitely go get in a pit ;) 4: MINISTRY ('nuff said). always fun, thanks bro.
ALL THAT REMAINS (BAND) (SONGS) THIS CALLING TWO WEEKS SIX CHIRON NOT ALONE i have forgotten many but those songs mmmmmm....... they are in my humble opinion the pinnacle of this kind of music :) KSE too dont hate element of one rose of sharyn my curse of course ahhhhhhhhhhh so many
I was not listening that much metal core, but since I found out Killswitch engage I really understand what metal core provides you and the enjoyment behind this music … it’s incredibly beautiful music !!!
It does not have an official video, but The Element of One is such an amazing and underrared song by them. It sounds a lot like this one. You'll get hooked instantly. Soft start, gets heavy, gets soft, gets heavy, ends soft. It's a masterpiece!
Welcome to the Metal family brother, happy to see such an openminded dude! By the way, KSE is definitely one of my favorite bands too! Have fun exploring the Metal world, there's tons of good shit around!
Love that you're enjoying the metal, wish more people were as open minded as yourself. You should check out The Sword, great band, Freya or The Black River. Also, KSE Rose of Sharyn is great jam, loving the videos, keep banging em out.
This is the band (and song) that got me into the harder metal scene. Jesse Leach takes a lot of crap for his voice (which is silly, but lots prefer KsE other singer). He is a fantastic song writer. Nearly all of his lyrics are both meaningful and thought provoking.
His cleans were not good in first stint with KsE, but has gotten amazing in his return but Howard pushed KsE to new heights and his voice is so haunting and melodic and is just amazing, I love both and Signal Fire is a testament to that. My first song was this one but I grew up with Howard and I still can't listening to them with Jesse back cause their message is so amazing and it makes me happy everytime I hear them. KsE is my favorite band and it's not close for me
This was the first song I ever heard from this band around when it came out I think and the year I got into band's like this. I was blown away, and had a similar reaction to it as you did. I always loved lyrics, and it does take an open mind to try to understand the songs and really feel it and the emotion that's put behind it and see the real meanings behind some of these songs. Another few good ones by this band are: Rose of Sharyn, and Starting Over (among others). Definately subbed after seeing these 2 reaction videos from you and I haven't even checked out the channel yet!
Nooope; TONS of melodeath has cleans and harshes and isn't metalcore. There are even cleans in some symphonic black metal, so really stop lying please. Lmao.
TheKarret i know opeth is not metal core. Are you just trying to win an argument or trying to prove you're a metal geek and knows everything about every genre? Either ways you're just an immature fuck who got easily butt hurt just coz I "SUGGESTED" a genre. Lol the fact that you're so concerned with him listening to opeth in the near/far future and misunderstanding the genre when you don't even know if he will listen or not makes you so fucking jobless in life. What do you do? Work at McDonald's for 10 bucks a day? Go get a life lol..or just continue anal-ing your mom :)
You're such a down to earth person, Alex. Loved your reaction videos from the first moment I saw them. My girlfriend in the back said "he's such a nice guy, I love how he's saying things" and I think we can all agree on that. Thanks for that one, bro! If you find the time, please react to Architects. Songs like these colours don't run, the devil is near, gone with the wind and memento mori will definitely hit you deep. Thanks again dude. Looking forward to the next my man!
Wage War - Youngblood. Its about a fan of the band that commited suicide and was memoralized by an amazing song. Also Alive by Wage War, The River, or Stitches are absolute bangers
Hef!! I know you probably are getting a million different requests but if you liked this song and lyrics you gotta listen to Six by All That Remains. Love your videos brother!! Keep em comin!!!
Welcome to our intelligent awesome fam, Alex! Absolutely loved your reaction to this. A classic by Killswitch. Gonna see them live for the first time opening for Iron Maiden next week, super hyped.
So how that you have a lil taste of killswitch. You still have to get into the era of Howard. Dont get me wrong I love Jesse as the vocalist. Whether it be pre or post Howard. But Howard man....You have so much more to explore and fall in love with lol. So songs like My curse, or a light in a darkened world.
There's so many genre and sub-genre on metal Thrash metal, death metal, black metal, heavy metal, power metal, grindcore, progressive metal, brutal death metal, blackened death metal, atmospheric metal, doom metal, stoner metal, melodic death metal, hardcore metal, metalcore, deathcore, slam metal, gore metal, nu metal, etc aaaaah so many dude! Your journey on metal are just in the surface 😜 But I always waiting for your next metal react video It's interested to know people like you from others type of music react to metal
That whole album changed my life. Plus I love your editing. Metal is soooooo underestimated and the truths and passion involved in the genre are incredible
Loved your reaction to this one. Mls is still one of my favorite songs from killswitch. Just barely breathing and the element of one (personal fav) from that same album are exceptional as well. That whole album (Alive or Just Breathing) is a landmark Metalcore album. As always, looking forward to more metal reactions. Dope ass days to us all!
Fucking mind blown I have never seen this channel before bro! I'm a huge fan of reaction channels. Gonna be checking out the rest of your videos tonight!
It's been show in a study that metal heads are more in tune with their emotions and are genuinely more happy with their state of mind 🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟 #metalforlife
Had to watch this again, just love it so much! I like the mixture you like too and I have a super super good suggestion! It’s along the lines of scream/singing like this, just a bit different in guitar, I would love to hear your reaction to this band! Man can’t say this enough! Love the work man! 39K! Congrats! I know you don’t like suggestion comments constantly but this band made me realise a band I haven’t seen suggested so here goes man ;) love ya! Keep up the awesome work HEFNERDS for life ;) Artist: Veil of Maya Song: Aeris
thank you for being open minded and going out of your wheelhouse. most people would just throw off metal music as being "angry/angsty teen junk" but you're helping bridge that gap, so once again, thank you.
KSE is so technically awesome. Adam D is one of the best guitarists and producers in the metal/metalcore scene, and the fact that Jesse is back in front of the band proves how well these guys really jived together. Love them!
Man. you must watch Killswitch engage live with Howard Jones. both are good frontman. but for me Howard is on a different level live. killswitch engage - Rose of sharyn (live)
Jesse Leach is my all-time favorite vocalist and song writer.... hands down, no one moves me and inspires me like Jesse. His raw energy, power and deliverance is like no other. When you see him live, you feel the passion in his voice every second of the show from start to finish. It's an experience like no other. The album Alive or Just Breathing is simply iconic from start to finish and was the beginning of the metalcore genre. If you didn't know, Jesse has 2 other current bands / side projects... Times of Grace and The Empire Shall Fall. Would love to see some reaction videos of them. Times of Grace was a side project of Adam D's, the rhythm guitarist and back-up vocalist for Killswitch Engage. He wrote the album while laid up in a hospital bed. Adam recorded all guitars, bass, drums (he plays them all) and back-up vocals for the album himself and recruited old friend and band mate Jesse Leach for lead vocals. They released the album and recruited a few fellow musicians to tour live, including Killswitch lead guitarist Joel. I saw them live, filmed the whole set while standing next to Adam D's parents in the reserved balcony (whole show on my channel), that was one my all-time favorite shows. Times of Grace's lyrics are very spiritual, positive, inspiring and uplifting. Check out ---> Times of Grace - Live In Love [OFFICIAL VIDEO] -----> ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-T2gc3dMKlto.html and Times Of Grace - Strength In Numbers [OFFICIAL VIDEO] -----> ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VW6GtKeRo00.html ..... or search for Where the Spirit Leads Me, Hymn of a Broken Man, Until the End of Days, The End of Eternity or literally anything off the album.... it's that damn good. The Empire Shall Fall was (still is) Jesse's band prior to him rejoining Killswitch. They put out a fully independent album and an EP with 2 more EPs in the works that got put on hold when Jesse rejoined Killswitch. They are a local band to me... saw them many times in small intimate settings of a couple hundred people. Check out Awaken, Lords of War, Voices Forming Weapons, These Colors Bleed, Choir of Angels, We the People, The Kingdom... Jesse's lyrics are so powerful and meaningful. There's a good lyric video of Voices Forming Weapons on RU-vid ---> ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nVOxagkR2cI.html I recorded this video of As The City Sleeps ----> ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-24Lw0mFWnFA.html right up close and personal standing on the front of the stage. The dude wearing the 'fuck racism' shirt is the singer for Acaro, he came out and did this song w/ Jesse... it was awesome!!! The sound is rather 'raw'... but that's how i like it! Fun fact: My friend was the drummer in one of Jesse's earlier bands before Killswitch, Nothing Stays Gold (all songs on my channel), they used to practice in my friend's basement. :) Anyway, sorry for writing a book. lol One love.
Awesome how you came up with the conclusion at the end man, I feel the same way, open minded intelligent people and on top of that, a friendly community, which is funny, because from experience, that is the exact opposite of what people outside the metal community judge the music and its fans
@@bmth2111 dude, why would you comment and be wrong about it? It's 4 words and even if it was spelled out it would be FOUR. C'mon man get your shit straight before you comment.
Aaaaah, moshing to this in the Krazyhouse in Liverpool for years! An escapism that I will always treasure. I adore this band! Beyond the Flames is gorgeous too 🤟🏼
