Killswitch Engage's new documentary Beyond the Flames. Documenting Jesse Leach's return to the band back in 2012, after Howard Jones left the band earlier that year.
I farted at a Killswitch show once. It was bad enough that several people turned around to find the source. I don’t know why I remember that or why I felt proud about it. But yeah...
Adam D seems like the impossible combination of the hugest dork and the biggest frat bro you've ever met all combined into one person. It's like the perfect synthesis and it created an awesome musician.
@@osmark86 As someone who had to dig myself out of a pretty deep hole, it bothers me when people say things like that. I get the intent and understand fully what they mean but it just puts them back in a cycle of relying on others. Trust me, I've been there. Howard era KsE and ATR where instrumental in that process. You could even say they were the shovel, but I did that! It takes A LOT of strength to back off the ledge and that is something that should never be pushed aside. So I fully understand that it can be used as a tool but the individual broke that condition. If you've been there, be proud of that!
Getting Howard after Jesse was the best decision they could have made. Getting Jesse after Howard was the best decision they could have made. Such a humble group of dudes. Saw them in Va Beach with Howard. One of the best shows I’ve ever been to.
I agree. I think I'm the only one who loves Jesse almost as much as I do Howard. Part of me is not upset about Howard leaving because we got more music with Jesse to compliment what Howard gave us. I enjoy the Howard stuff a little more. As Daylight Dies is probably one of my favorite records. AOJB is also one of my favorites tho, so I appreciate both tremendously.
I hear you! I love them both. I like Howard more, but Jesse is also amazing! Literally can’t loose with either of them, the fans have never missed out. I want more songs with Howard moving forward.
I think Adam D is the mastermind behind the writing and lyricism. The lyrics were beautiful during Howards era. I believe Jesse is doing most of the lyrics now, since he's also a great lyricist.
yeah go wikia all the albums he's touched. its quite impressive and what's insane for me, i loved like nearly all those bands before I even knew he helped produce for them.
KSE has also help me push through a lot of really dark times. Howard song AND songs that Jesse wrote/sang. Two of my favorite vocalists right there. But this band literally helped me through a few toxic relationships, helped through a chronic opiate addiction cycle where I was constantly in and out of both jail and treatment centers alike for about 9 or 10 years and even a suicide attempt..All because of their songs that I could not only just relate to and reflect on but also because their music made me not feel like I was always all alone.. So thank you Killswitch Engage for playing an extremely HUGE and important role in saving my fucking life. Hope to see you guys in concert one day! Much love from Seattle WA! 🤘😎
“The beauties of Jesse’s lyrics is you can probably interpret any song in three or four different ways like, hey did you write this song about this? No it’s actually about that. You could interpret it that way. I think it’s kind of what makes him such a clever lyricist. - Joel “I always believed in his lyrics, I’ve always loved his lyrics, I’d rather call him poet than a lyricist. - Mike The more you get to know him the more I kind of understand where he’s coming from with his lyrics. - Justin Shows how great Jesse is.
And finished. Sept 24. 2020 Learned so much more things about the band and the Howard situation and Jesse’s return that took a full turn on the band. Makes me love Disarm the Decent even more I figure to listen to it again just by how impactful of a comeback it was. Getting to see the lives of these guys and what they do when they’re not touring. It’s just awesome. Thanks for uploading this sir.
Loved you guys and your music from the beginning and through the years. You'll always be in my top 3 best band ever. Keep bringing us your best and we'll sing and headbang with you
Thanks for uploading this! Can't seem to find it anywhere else. Love this band and their story, they inspire me to keep working at my music stuff. Feels like I can really relate to them, like they're normal dudes lol.
Lucky you. I've never seen Killswitch Engage live with Jesse. I did get to see them twice with Howard. And I've seen Times of Grace live once. But never gotten the full original KsE yet.
Vile the show with Jesse was really cool cuz they were touring with Anthrax and Joey came out and sang Holy Diver with em Here’s the show I saw: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UmYTZ0bu9P8.html
not gonna lie, just started touring with my Band and this Documentary is pure gold! It helps a lot with changing my perspective on all the things so far! Thanks for the upload!
I love Jesse’s comeback: Jesse’s first performance back in 2012. Killswitch Engage winning Grammy nomination. First Europe Tour. Download 2012, Jesse’s biggest crowd.
You guys are fn badass man! I lose myself in a good way at your shows. Never miss a show when you hit phx az. 🤜🤛 Your show canceled on the 23rd of march when all this shit happened. My bday was the 24th. I was so fn pumped! Hope ya'll just keep making new music til my ears go def lol
The best Metal band out there by far today! Awesome lyrics, awesome songs, killer riffs, vocals, charismatic band mates, great image, super creative. Every new song I'm impressed by them. Amazing talent.
I was lucky to see Times of Grace live, in a very small venue. After the show I met Adam and Jesse, talked to them for a few minutes. And now they are going to do another album.......... YESSSSSSSSS!!!
Man, Howard and Jesse are both great, I love shit from both of themz all the Killswitch shit really helped me get off drugs and regain my human potential as a member of society... Live these guys with a great motive
I love this band. First time I saw an ad for them in a magazine ( yes, I’m that old.) I started searching for downloads. After a few tracks I just went out and bought the first 3 albums. An all time favourite band.
Marcus Davis Howard had to man. Would’ve loved if he stayed longer and longer. He was a great fit to the band but it was for the better good because he was very depressed and the touring around the time just wasn’t for him. At least we have Light The Torch!
Vida Infra was SOOOOOO powerful, like a f-ing roar. Jesse has such powerful lyrics. How many here have their first documentary on DVD???? Thanks for the upload!
To give you an idea how much I love KSE, I have their album art for the end of heartache (the heart with nails in it) with "through adversity there is redemption" surrounding it
Anybody else's Blu Ray randomly skip, n freeze from 8:10 to about 21:50? Had mine a few years now, watched it twice. Tried yesterday, and it seems to have that issues. Not a scratch on it.
I like Jesse but I think it was Howard's voice that made KSE world famous. As Daylight Dies and The End of Heartache are their best albums. When I heard rose of sharyn I became a fan.
Killswitch is a very fortunate band for having two of the best Metal singers of the last few decades. Howard has more technique and kind of an operatic voice and also his screams are very unique, the best voice in Metalcore imo. Jesse despite not having much technique, has more of a raw and punky feel and is more passionate about what he sings about, and his lyrics are some of the best in Metalcore. Howard and Jesse are very different singers but they both are perfect for the band.
Finally foundd this gem. Thank u lad. They used to be my high school hero. I even wore a Large size Killswitch Engage the shirt that doesn't fit me at all. Lol afterall they're my favourite Metalcore band. my favourite . Cus I love them so much. Thanks for uploading 🥰🥰 P. S the sound sucks.
These guys would be so much fun to hang out with. If you got a chance to hang out with them for a whole week. It would be the best week of your life. Even for a day or two.
I'm Missouri hillbilly 😜 I loved Howard and bridge genres awesome also Le Jon sevendust, now Howard create a new band Rock's gravitational to lyrics that has spiritual pray 🙏 you guys are saved great coming back again blowed my mind and so great and torn about Howard but never learned by ear enjoyed played with like a therapy 🤪 Metal Christian's need music like old Stryper, Petra and Killswitch Engage speaking to literally my life. Bless your talent 😇
This audition audio is proof that Jesse has always been a good singer, but that touring really tires you out, even after just singing for a whole show.
Saw them feb 2010 phil was singing Instead of Howard. Half the set was alive or just breathing, my favorite album. Was going to see them st.pattys in Atlanta This year but the quarantine happened
As someone who started off as a fan of hip hop specifically Nas, DMX, etc. I found metal from the hip hop I loved. The message of the band is what music and art is all about
Unless Howard is involved with this documentary this isn't a true documentary don't forget he gave these guys 4 albums that were best sellers even when Jesse wasn't around. and i still think they have the best music around
