I love you pottery . I especially like how organized you are with your notes in your pieces. It's such a pleasure after watching people fumble around and then make guesses.
OMG GIRRRRLLLLLLL!!! Hey!! That first piece!! OMG!!!! I will be getting some reactive rest now! OMG WOMAN!! The Rainbow mugs are stunnning!! Be careful leaving the glaze drips as feet since they will scratch the table top. Love it all so much!! I pray you had an amazing massage!!
Yay!!!!!! Omg so glad u loved it!!!! I can’t wait to try the rainbow on plates and bowls 😍 oh and guess what? Matt made me these amazing molds for plates and bowls that I can use a slab with and then put on the wheel to throw a foot or refine it quickly! I will do a demo video…haven’t used them yet but I’m about to!
I am so thankful you are inspired by my glazes! My husband teared up a little bit when I showed him your shout out and then sent this to his whole family hahaha
Yayyy mollys back!!! Omgggg the pink bowl is heaven!!! Gonna try w rr dots n soft red all over. Thoughts? Love the nesting bowl combos too. Yellow mason stain? Didn’t know u could do that. Just the powder or do u make a paste? Lucky brother gorgeous mugs! Wow u must b so happy. Great kiln load xx
My girl!!! Feels good to be back! Can’t wait to catch up on your videos!! Oooooooo the reactive red and soft red with the flux would probably be gorgeous! Might be a little softer than my LOUD bowl 😂😂😂 without a stroke and coat? Yes! Mason stain duh - I had a brain fart 💨 been dealing with poison ivy all over me 😔 but I mix a little mason stain powder in water …shake it up or mix well w brush. It will be very watery ..then a light wipe back. Sometimes I don’t even wipe it back because it’s so faint and I go over it 5x 😂 depending on the color! I’m thrilled w this kiln!!! Love you girl 😘
I love you and all your treasures! You are a treasure. These are sensational!!!! Those second Mr. & Mrs. are out of this world. I love that you matched the wedding colors. What a great idea. I adore your range. You are not afraid to try things out. Thank you for sharing the magic with all of us. Happy throwing and towing. I love you guys! LMAO: I don’t know why Matt doesn’t like them, his hands are enormous. Or something like that. Fun, fun, funny!
😂😂😂😂 I love YOU CAHLA!!!! you were a huge part of my inspiration for glazing this load!!!! I had the van in mind and your adorable style - I mean, I’m still looking for your van out my window every morning 😂
Yay! So glad you're back :)...Beautiful combos as usual, too bad about the second nesting bowl but wow the colors! Loved everything, can't wait to see more of the Rainbow combo as well. Congrats on all your October closings, so exciting.
Awwwww thank you!!!! The love on here is amazing 😍🙌!! I know right? It’s okay…I can make more 😂 I’m excited to try different colors for the rainbow effect! And thank you - it was a great month..I’m so grateful! 😘
Love your Red Peacock Bowl!! OMG Gorgeous!! I have all of those glazes and I'm going to have to try layering them too! May I ask if you had pinholes with the Pearl White and the Laguna Speckled Buff Clay? I'm reluctant to try it as I had so many problems with PW, but now I have a new digital kiln. loved the side-by-side of the HF and PW!
Thank you!!!!!!! It was so fun to make!! Soooo, I used to get pinholes with a lot of glazes on the speckled buff until I started using the Camille Hoffman slow cool schedule - NO MORE PINHOLES! But I am noticing a little crazing on some of the PW on the speckled buff..I think it may be that I need a slower cool down on the pieces where the outside is raw. Doesn’t seem to happen when I layer on top of the PW tho. And it hasn’t happened on all those pieces so idk 🤷🏻♀️. I may try just 2 coats inside rather than 3 as well. I would love to see how it works out for you in your new kiln 😍!! Cannot wait to see what you come up with too for the peacock glazes!!
Thank you!!!!! So nice to hear..appreciate you! So 3x honey flux all over and then 3x iron lustre just from the rim to the top of the handle, like where it’s attached! I like to leave room for the iron lustre to run down ‼️
@@freidabauer5444 sometimes I like it better than bmix because it seems more forgiving. It’s super soft tho so I have to go easier and lighter with my hand pressure - and it’s rough on the hands in like a exfoliating type of way. But after a few minutes I don’t even notice it. For me, it takes a little time to adjust between the different clay bodies if I’m using one for like a month and then switch to another. I do love the variety tho!
@@thehappyhomesteadnh yeah i am at it too. And indeed feels great. I tried a new clay and i love it. And new style of mugs. Will be back on it tomorow.
@@thehappyhomesteadnh it's local one here, it's pinkisch red clay with 0.2 grog. I thought i didn't like grog but i can actually work well with this one. Before it's fired it's like yellow 😅
@@katlady5000 I wonder if I should just order like 4 to start - so tell me more. Like if a pot sticks pretty bad, it doesn’t stick to the shelf at all?! How about grinding a runny pot?
@@thehappyhomesteadnh It doesn't stick at all. However the glaze can boil and have bubbles it in. To Grind I use 8 inch grinding discs on my wheel to wet sand it. I start with 80 grit to get the glaze off then switch to 120 and 240 to get the bottom smooth. I used a chamois towel that I cut in a circle and got wet to attach the grinding disc to my bat without gluing to my bat. It works well for me. I would suggest one or two to try out and see if you like it. Unplug your kiln before putting in or removing the shelves this is a safety issue. I hope that helps.
Crack me up! We heated a 14 room Colonial with central heat but had that extra wonderful wood stove in the kitchen. It was always the warmest room in the house! Now live in Fl. Studio is on my patio---ahem, today was 83! Re the discs...I'm thinking 150 grit might be a nice middle of the road as I rarely have drip-age. I've learned to control the fluxes--but every once in a while, shit happens!@@thehappyhomesteadnh
Lol 😂 hiiii! So I think you are referring to the discs that I use on my wheel right? Because I have another video with Matt using a tile sander. But for the discs - it depends. For clay with lots of grog like speckled buff, I will use the 240 and then I will hit it with an 800 or even a 1500 to make it super soft! That’s for making a soft feel on the hands. For grinding chunks of glaze off, I use the 60 grit because it’s coarse. I got my discs here: diamondcoretools.com/products/8-diamond-grinding-discs-12-bat
@@thehappyhomesteadnh Thanks Miss Molly. Get that stove cranking---keep warm. Sheesh, it was 84 today.... We're still waiting for sweater weather--- 50dgs!
@@thehappyhomesteadnh I'm in Palm Bch Gardens. You? Rainy today and 78 with the promise of intermittent showers ALL damn day! Won't be able to play with clay on the patio studio today....inside shit coming up! Stay in touch, girl! Pam
